Cain Velasquez Involved In A Shooting, One Man Hospitalized

Former UFC and WWE star Cain Velasquez was involved in a shooting on Monday night, according to NBC Bay Area.

Police say that one man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and another man has been arrested. It’s not known how Velasquez was involved in the shooting.

For what it’s worth, Santa Clara County jail records show that a Cain Velasquez with the same birth date as the former UFC Heavyweight Champion was booked into jail on Monday. His status is listed “No Bail Allowed” as of this writing. “DOC (Department of Corrections) Intake” is listed as his current Housing Facility, which indicates he was still being processed at the time of the most recent records update on the Santa Clara County government website.

Velasquez is a former UFC World Heavyweight Champion and he wrestled a couple of matches in WWE. On the first SmackDown on FOX show, Velasquez debuted and made the save for Rey Mysterio and to set up with Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel.

There were rumors that he would be involved in the 2020 Royal Rumble but a reported eye injury forced those plans to be scrapped. Velasquez was released by WWE on April 28, 2020.
