Update On Drew McIntyre’s In-Ring Return

Update On Drew McIntyre’s In-Ring Return – Although Drew McIntyre is dealing with a neck injury, he has a positive mindset of doing whatever it takes to make sure that he’s back in time for WrestleMania 38 in April.

After reporting the The Scottish Psycopath is expected to miss The Royal Rumble, Dave Meltzer noted in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that McIntyre is hopeful that he will be able to return for WrestleMania. Meltzer wrote, “he’s been doing rehab and decompression therapy on his neck. He’s taking the John Cena approach of double sessions six days a week and is pretty insistent he’ll make it back for WrestleMania.

McIntyre’s last match came at the Day 1 PPV where he defeated Madcap Moss in a singles match only to be written off in an angle backstage after being attacked by Moss and Baron Corbin. The former WWE Champion had been dealing with a bad neck for several months but was working through it.

Before McIntyre was sidelined with the injury, WWE had big plans in place for him as he was scheduled to be the next contender for Universal Champion Roman Reigns that would’ve led to a match at the Royal Rumble. Seth Rollins took his place.
