Rey Fenix was not at Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite/Rampage event as AEW stated in storyline that it was injury-related.
That’s not the case as Dave Meltzer reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the real reason was due to “travel difficulties” getting to Duluth, Georgia for the show.
He will still be participating in this Saturday’s Triplemania Regia in Monterrey, Mexico where Lucha Bros will challenge FTR for the AAA Tag Team Titles.
Originally, Rampage this Friday night was supposed to feature a two-out-of-three falls Tag Team Title match between Fenix and Penta El Zero M vs. FTR. That was changed to Penta and PAC against FTR in a non-title bout. You can check out the full spoilers for the show here.
