As noted, AEW star Big Swole mutually parted ways with AEW. Swole announced on Twitter that she will not be renewing her contract with the company.
Fightful Select reported that the deal wasn’t ended prematurely as some people may have speculated. Instead, her deal was up at the end of November, and the contract simply expired. It was added that there is no backstage heat or any reason why the situation would have ended on bad terms.
Swole had a breakout year in AEW last year including the chance to challenge Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women’s Title. She was sidelined with Crohon’s disease earlier this year. Swole hasn’t wrestled since September.
There are several AEW contracts expiring in the coming months so there could be more departures in the near future.
