We are live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL, as Grayson Waller makes his way to the ring to start the show.
Waller says what better way to start off the last NXT of 2021 with the breakout star. He asks how everyone’s Christmas was but he doesn’t care. He says he woke up Christmas morning and he said he deserved a present so he went to Detroit and had front row tickets. He says he was having a good time until AJ Styles wanted the Grayson Waller rub.
We take a look at what happened.
Waller says he doesn’t get why people like AJ Styles. They think he is a good guy after he threatens me. Last week, he came out on my show. All of you do your best to get your fat asses out of your seats to get excited. AJ says I am not a star. Let’s be real. There is no brigher star than Grayson Waller. If it wasn’t for Apollo Crews and Commander Azeez, it would have been his last night.
Grayson says that Dexter is delusional. He thought he would be cleared to wrestle tonight after the chair shot I gave him? Enjoy your time with your catfish wife. She is a Dexter Lumis 10 but a Grayson Waller 3. They found a replacement for you.
Odyssey Jones makes his way to the ring as Waller walks away. Jones tells Waller he prances around here like he is a star, but he is just a big time bitch.
Odyssey Jones vs. Grayson Waller
Waller backs into the ropes to avoid Jones. Waller with a jab to Jones and Jones sends Waller into the turnbuckles and connects with a splash. Jones with a biel. Jones with knees in the corner. Jones with punches and Waller drops down but Jones sees him go down and Jones walks over Waller. Jones with an Irish whip and Waller floats over. Jones with a side slam for a near fall. Jones with shoulders in the corner. Jones puts Waller on the turnbuckles and Jones with forearms across the chest and he follows with a double sledge to the chest. Waller falls to the floor. Waller with forearms to the back and punches to Jones. Waller with punches in the corner.
Waller with a kick to the midsection and a cravate. Waller with a drop kick to the knee and forearms to the back. Waller with a knee to the ribs and a kick to the back. Waller with a knee to the back. Waller with a forearm. Jones pushes Waller away. Waller with forearms. Waller with a cravate and he adds pressure to the neck. Jones with punches but Waller with knees. Waller with a thrust kick to Jones. Waller goes to the ropes and hits a springboard elbow drop for a near fall.
Waller with forearms and kicks but Jones blocks a spinning heel kick and Jones sends Waller to the mat. Jones with a body block and a back breaker. Waller moves when Jones goes for a splash into the corner. Waller with a side kick into the corner. Waller punches Jones in the corner and Waller takes off the top turnbuckle pad but Jones with a power bomb for a near fall. Jones goes for a splash into the corner but Waller moves and Jones hits the exposed turnbuckle. Waller with a slingshot rolling cutter for the three count.
Winner: Grayson Waller
After the match, AJ appears on the HHHTron and he says that Waller got some attention last night but he didn’t get the right type of attention. AJ says he will be at NXT next week at New Year’s Evil.
— McKenzie Mitchell is in the back with Raquel Gonzalez and Cora Jade. Cora says they can coexist. Next week is every woman for themselves. Raquel says tonight is about taking out toxic trash. Io Shirai shows up and says that she wants the first shot and maybe she will get her rematch. Kay Lee Ray says it does not matter who it is, she wants a shot at the title.
Mandy appears on the monitor and she says if you all want a piece of her, why not have a tag match tonight with the winners facing her at New Year’s Evil.
— Grayson Waller tells AJ if he wants to ruin his celebration. Waller bumps into MSK and Waller tells them screw you.
— Time for a Tiffany Stratton vignette, where she says her daddy said it is time for her to take over NXT and daddy is never wrong. Is NXT ready for Tiffany Stratton.
We go to commercial.
— We are back and Xyon Quinn tells Elektra she wants it as much as him. She needs to decide him or Legado. It has to happen tonight.
— Wes Lee and Nash Carter make their way to the ring.
They say it is good to be back. Wes mentions the last time they were here was Halloween Havoc when they lost the titles. Nash says they went on a beautiful journey and found their Shaman Riddle and are flying higher than ever. Riddle is on the HHHTron and he says he couldn’t be there but he will be there as a higher power. NXT has seen your journey and there is only one thing left to do. Challenge Imperium for the Tag Titles.
Nash and Wes says it is their destiny. Wes tells Imperium to bring that ass here.
Fabian Aichner tells MSK if they can be serious and he speaks in Italian. Barthel responds in German.
Wes and Nash ask for subtitles.
Marcel says he is not surprised they are uncultured. You can sit around your fire, ride your scooters, but the two of you will never ever be able to touch us. The tag titles are going to stay with the best tag team this division has ever seen. They are going to stay where they belong and they will stay with Imperium.
Nash says if they are feeling spicy, they can put the tag titles on the line right here and right now.
WALTER appears on the HHHTron. He says MSK represent everything wrong in this sport. You are a disgrace to the mat. Marcel and Fabian are great champions who treat that title wtih respect. You do not deserve a title match.
Riddle shows up in PIP.
Riddle says he cannot let WALTER disrespedt his friends. He suggests next week, we have a six man tag match.
WALTER asks the barefooted nerd if he wants it, then they accept the challenge. WALTER says they are in this for the greater good and they will expose you as a bunch of show men. We are Imperium and to us, the mat is sacred.
— Wade mentions that Carmelo Hayes has not arrived at the building yet for the contract signing later tonight.
— Joe Gacy reminds Harland that Brian Kendrick called him a freak and Gacy tells Harland he is not a freak.
We go to commercial.
— We are back with McKenzie and Edris Enofe. He is asked about his first victory. Edris says he has had a bunch of doubters and what better way to prove himself than get his first win. Von Wagner says that Enofe got lucky. Malik Blade says a win is a win and Wagner pushes Blade and asks him who he is.
Harland vs. Brian Kendrick
Kendrick does not come to the ring when his music plays and Gacy gets a mic.
Gacy tells Harland he knew that this would happen. Mr. Kendrick is just like so many people in this cruel world. They speak a big game but when confronted, they don’t show up. Kendrick will not admit that he did wrong.
Andre Chase shows up.
Chase apologizes for the interruption but it is time for a TEACHABLE MOMENT. At Andre Chase University, we don’t quit. We don’t run away from our problems. We take negatives and turn them into positives.
Gacy says they appreciate what Chase is doing. Harland was enrolled in school until he was expelled. Gacy thanks Chase for stepping up and volunteering himself as Mr. Kendrick’s replacement.
Andre Chase vs. Harland
Chase with a waist lock and Harland with elbows. Harland pushes Chase over the top rope to the floor. Harland goes to the floor and Chase gets back in the ring but Harland grabs Chase’s leg and sends him into the ropes. Harland slams Chase’s head into the mat and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner: Harland
After the match, the ringside associate comes to check on Chase but Harland pulls him to the floor. Harland carries him to the back.
— We see Tiffany Stratton’s feet as we see her back while she walks through the back.
We go to commercial.
— We are back and Santos Escobar is asked about Xyon Quinn’s comments. He refuses to answer. Elaktra Lopez enters the hallway and she is asked about Xyon. Solo Sikoa enters the hallway and Legado tells Solo to apologize. Solo says if they have problems, they can settle it in the ring.
Tiffany Stratton vs. Fallon Henley
They lock up and Stratton pushes Henley to the mat. They lock up and Henley with a waist lock. Stratton with a wrist lock. Henley with a wrist lock. Stratton uses the ropes to reverse the hold and takes Henley down with an arm drag into an arm bar. Henley with a side head lock. Stratton with a reversal. Henley with a forearm and Stratton with a shoulder tackle. Stratton blocks a hip toss and slams Henley. Stratton with an Irish whip and handspring elbow into the corner followed by a flatliner for the three count.
Winner: Tiffany Stratton
— We see Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray in the back preparing for their tag match.
— We are back with a video package for Tony D’Angelo. He says Pete learned the hard way that he is a tough guy. He says he introduced Petey to his friend, crowbar. Tony tells Pete he has to watch his hands. The look on his face is someone who shouldn’t have fought with him. Tony says his grandfather taught him to get in the bully’s face and beat him up.
— Wade Barrett is in the ring with the two title belts and contract on the table.
Wade says two men will enter the ring next week as champion but only one will walk out. Tonight, the match will be made official.
Wade brings out NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong. Strong is accompanied by Diamond Mine.
Bivens says he did not see Trick Williams or the self proclaimed ‘A’ champion. He knows that gas prices are high.
Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes make their way to the ring. Trick says they are going to call Roderick the B Champion because next week, he won’t B champion.
Roderick wants to know what Trick said.
Bivens says he will translate for everyone. He said that Roderick is a second tier champion and cannot beat Hayes. He says that Hayes will stomp on him.
Roderick tells Bivens he will kick his ass.
Bivens says Hayes if he wants some to get some. Bivens says that Hayes and Williams are outnumbered.
Williams says they are not outnumbered.
Bivens says he is not paid enough to translate everything.
Barrett says he has no clue what anyone is talking about so he is going to bring it under control.
Wade asks Carmelo what is on the North American Champion’s mind.
Hayes says when he says he shoots and he does not miss, that is not a catchphrase, it is a way of life. He says that he will put Roddy on a t-shirt. If you look at the guys I laid to rest, there ain’t a damn thing different between them and you. I take what I want and I want the Cruiserweight Championship and I will unify the titles. I am the most scintillating champion in NXT and that is all it is and that’s all it’s gonna be.
Roderick tells Hayes bravo for the fact that he said it to his face. Strong says that is impressive. You have potential, but at New Year’s Evil, it will be a life changing event. It will be the greatest moment for me when I unify the titles and become a two time North American champion. You will be carried out and you will be known as Humbled Hayes.
Strong signs the contract and then Hayes signs the contract.
Hayes and Strong toss the contract at each other as Wade says the match is official and the winner of the match will go forward as the North American Champion.
Bivens wants the music cut. Bivens tells Trick what is bout it bout it is Dexter Lumis kicking your ass.
Trick tells Bivens to watch his mouth or he will make an example of him.
Julius and Brutus pick up Williams and they give him a double choke slam through the table.
— Solo Sikoa is in the back getting ready for his match against Santos Escobar.
We go to commercial.
— We are nack with a video package for the tag team division with a look at the Grizzled Young Veterans, Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, Ikemen Jiro and KUSHIDA, and The Creeds.
Solo Sikoa vs. Santos Esocbar
Sikoa teases a kick but Escobar backs off. They lock up and Escobar with a chop on the break. Escobar smiles as Sikoa reacts. Escobar with a waist lock and Sikoa misses elbows. Escobar with a take down. Esocbar goes for a sunset flip but Sikoa does not go down. They lock up and Escobar with a hammer lock. Escobar turns it into a double wrist lock. Sikoa escapes and sends Escobar to the mat. Escobar with an ankle pick into a front face lock. Escobar with a reverse chin lock. Escobar with an abdominal stretch.
Sikoa with a hip toss to escape. Santos with a wrist lock but Sikoa blocks an Irish whip. Sikoa with an Irish whip and elbow followed by a clothesline. Sikoa with a slam and diving head butt for a near fall. Escobar rolls tot he floor and Sikoa follows. Sikoa punches Escobar and then he goes after Wilde and Mendoza but Sikoa’s actions allow Escobar to recover and he hits a knee to the back.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Escobar stretches Sikoa. Sikoa with punches to Escobar. Escobar with a side Russian leg sweep for a near fall. Escobar with a forearm to the lower back. Escobar with a drop kick to the back against the ropes. Escobar stomps on the back. Escobar with a single leg crab. Sikoa gets to the ropes to force a break. Escobar with a drop kick to Sikoa for a near fall. Escobar with a Fujiwara arm bar. Escobar gets a near fall. Escobar tells Sikoa to fight him and Escobar with punches to Sikoa. Escobar sets for a suplex but Sikoa blocks it and he sends Escobar face first to the mat with a gourdbuster. Sikoa with clotheslines and punches. Sikoa with knees.and a Samoan drop. Sikoa with a back senton.
Wilde gets on the apron and so does Mendoza. Sikoa takes care of both of them but Escobar clips Sikoa and they go to the turnbuckles for a Frankensteiner.
Xyon Quinn is at ringside with Elektra and Escobar with a suicide dive and he punches Quinn. Escobar yells at Lopez and then he rolls back into the ring and Sikoa with a super kick and a frog splash for the three count.
Winner: Solo Sikoa
— We go to McKenzie Mitchell and she runs through the card for New Year’s Evil.
- Two women will face Mandy Rose for the Women’s Championship.
- Roderick Strong faces Carmelo Hayes.
- MSK and Riddle face Imperium in a six man tag match.
- AJ Styles will confront Grayson Waller.
- Bron Breakker faces Tommaso Ciampa for the Men’s Championship.
— Joe Gacy and Harland are on the roof with the Chase Universiety student and Gacy says something to Harland and Harland puts him down gently.
We go to commercial.
— We are back and Solo Sikoa is congratulated on his victory and he is asked what is next. Solo says he will take on anyone who comes after him. Boa attacks Sikoa and then Boa attacks the camera man accidentally. He looks confused.
— We take a look at Tommaso Ciampa and Bron Breakker with a video package.
Ciampa says he exposed Breakker. Bron says it was one mistake that cost him. It taught him a lesson and a mistake he will not make again. We take a look at footage from War Games. Ciampa not to confuse a battle with a war. Bron says he is coming for the NXT Championship.
Von Wagner vs. Malik Blade
Wagner runs Blade into the corner and connects with shoulders. Wagner runs Blade into another corner and connects with a shoulder. Wagner with a knee to the midsection. Blade with punches but Wagner with a knee. Wagner misses a boot and Blade with a thrust kick and a jumping side kick. Wagner sends Blade to the mat.
We see Robert Stone watching in the back.
Wagner with a kick and forearm. Wagner with more forearms to the back. Wagner with a knee to the head. Wagner with a gutwrench suplex to Blade. Wagner with a short arm clothesline. Blade with forearms but Wagner with a clothesline. Wagner runs into a back elbow and Wagner with a waist lock and Blade holds on to the ropes. Blade with drop kicks. Blade with a cross body. Wagner with a flatliner uranage and he goes for a power bomb but Blade with a sunset flip for a near fall. Wagner with an Olympic slam. Wagner with a butterfly slam for the three count.
Winner: Von Wagner
After the match, Wagner goes for another Olympic Slam but Edris Enofe pulls Blade to safety.
#1 Contender’s Match: Cora Jade and Raquel Gonzalez vs. Io Shirai and Kay Lee Ray
We go back to the ring for tonight’s main event and out first comes Raquel Gonzalez. Cora Jade is out next with her skateboard. The winning team from this bout will be the ones to challenge NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose in the Triple Threat at New Year’s Evil. Out first for the second team is Io Shirai. Kay Lee Ray is out last.
Io and Jade start things off. Io with a waist lock and Cora misses an elbow and Io with a chop. Io with a knee but COra with an Irish whip. Io avoids a charge into the corner. Io lands on her feet on a head scissors attempt. Cora blocks a kick and gives Io a leg sweep. Cora with a side head lock and Jade with a take down and a near fall. Cora with a running knee to Io against the ropes and Raquel tags in and kicks Io. Raquel gets a near fall. Gonzalez tosses Io into the corner and Ray tags in. Ray with chops to Gonzalez. Ray with a kick. Raquel misses a clothesline but hits a Northern lariat. Io kicks Jade and Gonzalez goes to the floor and hits a double jump senton on Gonzalez o the floor. Shirai with an Asai Moonsault.
Ray with a cravate on Jade. Io tags in and hits a drop kick to the back of the head for a near fall. Io with a slam. Io with a hesitation knee drop and she gets a near fall. Io sends Jade into the turnbuckles and Ray tags in. Ray with a snap mare and she stretches Jade. Ray sends Jade to the mat and then she kicks Jade.
Ray with a gourdbuster for a near fall. Ray with a forearm and slam to Jade. Ray sends the knee into the mat. Ray with a single leg crab. Ray keeps Jade from making the tag and pulls her closer to Ray’s corner. Ray goes for the KLR Bomb but Jade counters with a sunset flip for a near fall. Ray with a knee. Jade sends Ray into the turnbuckles.
Ray with a suplex and then she knocks Raquel off the apron. Io tags in and goes up top for a moonsault but Gonzalez pulls Jade to the apron. Ray with a suicide dive to Gonzalez. Io with a drop kick to Jade’s back. Io with a Tiger Feint Kick and then Io goes up top for a missile drop kick. Io gets a near fall. Io misses a double knee strike and hits the turnbuckles. Ray tags in and she grabs the leg. Jade with an enzuigiri and Jade crawls to her corner and Gonzalez makes the tag.
Gonzalez with punches to Ray and Gonzalez drops Ray on the top rope and connects with a boot. Gonzalez with a fallaway slam. Gonzalez goes to the turnbuckles for a twisting elbow drop. Ray with a thrust kick and Gonzalez blocks a thrust kick and Gonzalez with a Chingona Bomb. Jade tags in and Gonzalez catches Io off the turnbuckles and drops her on the apron. Jade gets a near fall and Gonzalez argues with Jade. Ray with a rollup and Gonzalez pushes Ray over and Jade gets the three count.
Winners: Cora Jade and Raquel Gonzalez
After the match, Jade and Gonzalez argue until Mandy Rose shows up on the HHHTron. Mandy says you might have won but your selfish desires for her title will be your downfall. That is why I made this is a Triple Threat Match. I will be able to erase both of you from contention.
