Bray Wyatt Too Outspoken About WWE Creative Issues – There appears to be smoke to the fire regarding stories about people in management souring on Bray Wyatt towards the end of his run in WWE.
Fightful cites WWE sources saying that Vince McMahon no longer liked Wyatt and the belief is that McMahon did not like that Wyatt was too outspoken about creative.
Several months back Dave Meltzer reported that there was a late change for the Wyatt vs. Randy Orton match at WrestleMania and Wyatt was supposed to go over and Orton was going to lose and then take some time off. That turned out to be Wyatt’s last match with the company. Fightful stated that there was no creative endgame for that storyline. Many of you will remember that at one point during that storyline, Wyatt was burned alive by Orton.
It was also stated by Fightful that people in WWE do not believe that Wyatt’s release was for budgetary reasons and Wyatt’s release had a negative effect on morale among the talent.
Wyatt was one of the wrestlers who sold a lot of merchandise and he was still let go and that has wrestlers thinking that no job is safe in WWE. This feeling extends to long-time stars up and down the card.
Last month, Andrew Zarian said that WWE felt that Wyatt was “difficult” and he had “weight issues.”
Zarian said he was told the following by the source: “Bray was being difficult. I’m gonna fill in a lot, I’m not even gonna quote here because I have the quote [and] I don’t wanna quote it. He was a little difficult. He had some performance issues in the ring and he had some weight issues and I’m not saying that’s a reason but you kind of piece things together as to the things when you evaluate a talent and you’re like we need this, we need that and this is the plan moving forward…sometimes the decision is easier to make if you make it more difficult for them to make that decision. There’s so many different variables. There is no one reason, by the way. Let me just put it out there. Financial yes, there was a financial issue. There were plenty of other scenarios here. I don’t think he was happy and I would tell you that these decisions are not cut and dry.”
It appears that Wyatt plans on speaking out soon on his WWE run. He responded to a report over the weekend that cited a WWE source saying that he deserved to be released.
