“Ontario” Added To WWE Banned Words List – Long-time fans know that there are certain words that wrestlers and announcers are not allowed to say on WWE television.
Some fans may have noticed WWE didn’t say “Ontario” as the location of Friday Night SmackDown last week from the Toyota Arena.
Dave Meltzer reported that the name of the city was banned from being used on the broadcast. Instead, WWE used the term “Southern California.” There’s no word on why the city name can’t be used on television.
Just last month, Meltzer put together an updated list of the banned words from 2020 that Vince McMahon doesn’t like. You can check it out at this link.
It should be noted that the word “kill” was on that list, but Goldberg used the word a few times in his promos when he was feuding with Bobby Lashley leading up to their match at Thursday’s Crown Jewel pay-per-view event where the WWE Hall of Famer went over.
