2021 Bound For Glory Results (10/23) – Pre-show begins with video packages for tonight’s PPV. First up is the feud between Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo and Mickie James.

– Interviews and video packages for Impact World Champion Christian Cage defending against Josh Alexander.

– Matt Striker and D’lo Brown welcome fans to Las Vegas.

– Awesome Kong is inducted into the Impact Hall of Fame by Gail Kim. Kim spoke about Kong coming to TNA and realizing instantly how special she was right off the bat. She talked about their chemistry in the ring with Awesome Kong and said they had something to prove, they wanted to show the world what they could do. She notes how special it was for women of color to receive the spotlight that they did and thanks the TNA management at that time for giving them that time. She mentions how she once told Kong that wrestling her took a year off her wrestling career, but she’d do it again and again. Kim says Awesome Kong inspired and opened the door for today’s generation and then introduces her to the fans.

Awesome Kong makes her way out. Kong jokes that Kim took a lot of her talking points and will have to come up with some stuff on the fly. She thanks management and all the fans who kept word going about TNA/Impact all these years. Kong thanks Gail Kim and says she’s a big reason why she’s being inducted into the Hall of Fame. She thanks the producers (Scott D’Amore and Dutch Mantel) for giving them the time and not shaving minutes off their matches because they were women. She thanks her husband for letting her shine and be a star. Kong tears up a bit. She talks about the wrestling promotion Shimmer and thanks the promotion for being a reason women’s wrestling continued to grow. Kong tells the people at home if they have a dream to pursue it and never give up. She thanks the fans again and the Impact Knockouts division comes out to clap for and hug Awesome Kong.

John Skyler vs. Crazzy Steve vs. Fallah Bahh vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Chelsea Green vs. Madison Rayne (Impact Digital Media Championship)

Skyler quickly sent out to the floor. Green tries for the early pin, but it pulled out to the floor. Bahh and Grace battle in the middle of the ring, she gets a head of steam and puts down the big man with a shoulder tackle. Knees in the corner, running forearm, vader bomb, cover, two-count. Skyler with a shot from behind on Grace, crowd didn’t like that. Green throws a shot, misses, sent into the corner. Skyler puts her up on the second rope, she headbutts him away and lands a top rope missile dropkick. Steve sends her to the mat, twists her neck with his feet.

Green up and hits a curb stomp on Rayne, cover, Grace breaks that up. Grace looks for a muscle buster on Green. Rayne tries to stop him, no luck, Grace smacks her away and hits a muscle buster on Green, cover, pin broken up. Grace stacks a bunch of people in the corner. Steve with a leg submission in the corner.

Grace whipped into the corner with others, Bahh with a big splash in the corner. Skyler plants Steve off the second rope, cover, Green stops that. She slaps Skyler in the face, but takes a shot to the back. Grace back in the match, shot to the face, grace driver on Skyler, cover, and that will do it.

Havok and Rosemary (c) vs. The IInspiration (Cassie Lee and Jessie McKay) (Impact Knockouts Tag Team Championship)

Harley Cameron on the stage to sing out The IInspiration. Before the match gets going Lee and McKay each take a mic. They introduce each other by their new names and say they are here to inspire the fans. “Because we are The IInspiration!” and do the same pose they did in WWE. Rosemary and McKay get things started. Lee with the quick tag, they try for double clotheslines, nope, Rosemary yells at them, and they give her their pose. Lee with a rough looking falling slam on Lee. Havok tags in, double strikes on Lee, but she’s able to get away and bring in McKay.

McKay with a kick to the midsection, another one, tries for an irish whip, nope. Havok sends her to the mat, tags in Rosemary, and sends her into the corner. Havok with a splash on McKay. Rosemary then bites McKay in the face and locks in the tarantula. Lee gets in there and beats up Rosemary, suplex into a cover, two-count. McKay back in, double kicks, cover, two. Lee back in, but runs right into Havok, big strikes, backbreaker puts Lee down. McKay tries for a running splash and just flops down to the mat after hitting Havok. Lee dropped, cover, two. Rosemary tags back in.

 

Lee fights off the champions, sends Havok out to the floor and hits a clothesline on Rosemary. McKay tagged in and she runs over Rosemary, forearm in the corner, suplex, and Lee with a kick to Rosemary’s head. Lee with a kick, blocked, Rosemary hits a scorpion deathdrop. Havok heads into the match, backbreaker, and Rosemary spears her, cover, 1-2-McKay breaks up the pin. Forearm to McKay, Havok with an awkward looking leg drop. McKay hits a big boot on Rosemary. Havok with a choke bomb on McKay and then hits Lee with a forearm. Lee fights off both opponents, sends Rosemary out to the floor and hits a couple kicks on Havok. McKay and Lee send Havok into the corner a couple times. She ends up out on the floor and she’s sent into the ring post. Rosemary blasts Lee, tosses McKay into the ring, couple counters. Lee with the blind tag, Lee with a big knee to Rosemary’s head. Neckbreaker/powerbomb on Rosemary, cover, 1-2-3.

Winners: The IInspiration via pinfall to win the Impact Knockouts Tag Team Championship

– Backstage, Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo talks about tonight’s match. Purrazzo says it’s been Mickie James who has been jumping her, and when they bring the fight to her, she gets punished. It’s noted the Drama King is banned from ringside for tonight’s match.

Trey Miguel vs. Steve Maclin vs. El Phantasmo (Impact X Division Championship – Vacant)

Match off to a fast start with Phantasmo and Miguel with a flurry of attacks on each other. Maclin and Phantasmo with big chops/punches to Miguel in the corner. Phantasmo with the ol’ nipple twister on Maclin, but it has no effect and he quickly gets dropped. “Too sweet, that, b****” Maclin yells at Phantasmo.

 

Miguel with combo attacks on both opponents, swinging neckbreaker on Maclin and goes right into a submission on Phantasmo. He then hits a german suplex with the bridge on Maclin for two. Phantasmo with a nice springboard moonsault, cover on Maclin, two. Lots of back and forth action. Both Phantasmo and Miguel are in tree of woe position. Maclin spears Phantasmo, Miguel gets out of the way. Miguel tries for a handspring kick, but Maclin spears him in the middle of the move and both go out to the floor.

Maclin going wild out on the floor. Back in the ring, Miguel with a code red, but Maclin drives him to the mat, cover, and Phantasmo breaks it up. All three wrestlers up top. Phantasmo with sunset bomb on Maclin. He goes back up and hits a top rope hurricanrana, sending Miguel down on Maclin. Phantasmo with a splash down on Maclin, cover, two-count. Maclin catches Miguel in midair, Miguel jumps away, matrix out of the way of a strike. Miguel with a tricky pin on Phantasmo, no. Phantasmo tries for a sneaky lowblow, Miguel has a cup though to protect himself. Kicks to Phantasmo’s face, brainbuster, Miguel up to the top rope, meteora, cover, 1-2-3.

Winner: Trey Miguel via pinfall to win the X Division Championship

 

– Backstage, Mickie James says Deonna might be one of the best in the world right now, but she has made things personal. She didn’t appreciate Purrazzo showing up to her home. James says tonight it a huge deal because she wants to show she’s still worthy of being champion.

Heath and Rhino vs. Violent By Design (Joe Doering and Deaner with Eric Young)

Heath goes out on his own and looks to the stage for Rhino, but nobody is there. Heath gets attacked from behind and the match ends up being made official. Deaner goes after Heath, misses, and eats a bunch of punches. Heath with a running forearm in the corner. Doering tries to get involved and eats a bunch of punches. Deaner with a dropkick to the knee, swinging neckbreaker,

Doering with a big powerslam on Heath, elbow drop, cover, two. Deaner gets in there, but doesn’t have much luck as Heath drops him. Doering runs in and gets sent out to the floor. Double clothelines by Heath and Deaner, both men down. Rhino’s music hits! Rhino makes his way out to the ring. He tells Heath to tag him! Rhino runs over Deaner a couple times, shoulder thrust in the corner. Belly-to-belly on Doering. Rhino calling for a gore on Deaner and gets him square, cover, 1-2-3.

Winner: Rhino and Heath via Pinfall

– Post-match, Rhino and Heath hug and the crowd cheers the friends being together again.

– Backstage, Jordynne Grace talks about winning the Impact Digital Media Championship. She’s happy to make history being the first champion and the triple crown Knockout Champion. She then pumps up Rachel Ellering for her upcoming Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match. Moose and W. Morrissey stroll up and Moose says he doesn’t know how she thinks she’ll win when they are in it.

 

Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match (Winner receives future title shot of their choosing within the year)

Sabin was number one.  New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Rocky Romero, as a surprise, was number two.  They went back and forth with armdrags before shaking hands.  Romero drilled him and worked over his back before giving him an eyepoke.  Sabin nailed several knees but missed a charge in the corner.  Romero nailed a series of clotheslines.

Madman Fulton was #3.  Rohit Raju was fourth.  Everyone battled.  

Tasha Steelz was #5, the first Knockout to enter the bout.  She began stomping Sabin, who was down on the mat.

Rachael Ellering was #6.  Steelz was waiting for her but Rachael ducked the clothesline and nailed a TKO.  Fulton tried to nail her but was kicked into the ropes.  Raju pulled his hair from the apron as Sabin and Ellering dumped her.

#7 was Savannah Evans.  She immediately went after Ellering, saving Steelz.  She and Ellering were eliminated and got into each other’s faces on the floor before being separated by officials.

#8 was Johnny Swinger.  #9 was Melina.  Swinger drilled her and sent her to the mat, which she crashed down while doing a split.  

#10 was Dale Torborg as the Kiss Demon, without any mention of Kiss at all.  Well, no one could have expected this one!  Swinger held the ropes down for him, then tried to get an autograph from him.  Demon obliged, then tossed him out.

#11 was Brian Myers.  He faced off with Demon.  #12 was Matt Cardona.  Melina was eliminated.

Unlucky #13 was Laredo Kid.  #14 was Sam Beale.  Myers tried to tell Beale to help him against Cardona, even though he had sent Beale packing on Impact TV this past Thursday.  They tried to toss him out together.

#15 was Rich Swann.   Beale tossed Myers to a big pop.

#16 was Ace Austin.  He ducked when the Demon charged and Ace pulled the ropes down.  The Demon was eliminated.

#17 was Moose.  He powerbombed Beale out of the ring and into the crowd to eliminate him.

#18 was Eddie Edwards.  Moose nailed him as he got in the ring.

#19 was Alisha Edwards.  Moose went to the floor and worked over Eddie.  Alisha nailed him with a Singapore Cane.  She and Eddie worked over Moose and beat him down with the canes.  

#20 was W. Morrisey.  The Edwards beat him with the canes.  Morrisey tossed Edwards out atop the hapless other eliminated wrestlers.  Edwards was tossed by Moose but not before Moose accidentally nailed Morrisey.  They began arguin.  Rohit ttied to convince them to get along and work with him but was tossed out.

Sabin tossed Austin, but as the referees held Austin back, Madman Fulton returned and attacked Sabin, leaving him easy prey.  Morrisey and Moose tossed him out.  Cardona nailed Radio Silence on Moose.  Moose turned on Morrisey and tossed him.  

It came down to Moose vs. Matt Cardona.  They battled back and forth until Moose speared Cardona for the pin.

Winner: Moose

— Gia Miller interviewed Rhino and Heath Miller.  Rhino thanked Heath for never giving up on him and asked him to tell his kids that Uncle Rhino is back.

Impact Wrestling Tag Team Championships
The Good Brothers vs. Chris Bey & Hikuleo vs. FinJuice

David Finlay and Bey started out, working each other over with some nice counter-wrestling before facing off.  Bey got really aggressive and worked over Finlay but was caught.  Finjuice began tagging in and out, working over Bey.  Robinson nailed a leaping back senton splash but Bey nailed a jawbreaker and tagged in Hikuleo.  Gallows tagged himself in and the big guys went face to face and slugged it out.

Finlay tagged in but was overwhelmed by Hikuelo’s strength and size.   He was worked over by Bullet Club.  Robinson finally tagged in and wiped Bey out with an insanely great Gutbuster for a two count.    The Good Brothers attacked everyone.  Hikuleo booted Karl Anderson in the face.  Gallows drilled Hikuleo and everyone was down as the referee counted them on the mat.  The crowd chanted, “This is awesome.”

Finlay hits a superplex, Robinson with a splash down on Bey. Anderson able to tag in without Robinson realizing it and get the sneaky pin for the 1-2-3.

Winners: Good Brothers

— They ran a video package on Minoru Suzuki coming.

Impact Knockouts Championship
Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. Mickie James

Before Purrazzo can even get all her entrance gear off, James with the quick strike. James chokes the champ on the apron and yells at her about showing up at her house. James taking Purrazzo near the stage and swings away. Referee isn’t counting because the match hasn’t officially started yet. James gets shoved up against the stage. Purrazzo drags James back to the ring and pump kicks her at ringside.

The two finally get in the ring and the bell rings. Both trading shots, Purrazzo with a snap suplex, cover, two-count. Purrazzo with momentum, James tries for a hurricanrana, reversed into a modified powerbomb, cover, two. James gets some offense in, has the champion down and heads up to the top rope. James leaps down on Purrazzo, cover, two. James looks for a DDT, gets caught on the chin, cover, two. She’s able to hit a DDT the second time around, cover, Purrazzo kicks out and James looks surprised by that.

Second Forearm Exchange. Mickie denies The Queen’s Gambit. Mickie kicks Purrazzo in the gut. Purrazzo applies The Fujiwara Arm-Bar. Mickie puts her foot under the bottom rope which forces the break. Mickie with The Roundhouse Kick. Purrazzo hits The Queen’s Gambit for a two count. Purrazzo grabs a steel chair. The referee stops Purrazzo in her tracks. Purrazzo drives Mickie back first into the turnbuckles. Purrazzo puts Mickie on the top turnbuckle. Mickie with clubbing blows to Purrazzo’s back. Mickie starts biting Purrazzo’s forehead. Mickie inadvertently knocks down the referee with The Flying Seated Senton. Mickie SuperKicks the chair into Purrazzo’s face for a two count. Purrazzo has Mickie perched on the top turnbuckle. Purrazzo applies The Fujiwara Arm-Bar in the ropes. Purrazzo with The Iconoclasm. Purrazzo mocks Mickie. Mickie with The Spinning Heel Kick. Mickie plants Purrazzo with The Tornado DDT to pickup the victory.

Crowd fairly split for this match as the two have a feeling out process in the early stage of the match. Collar and Elbow Tie Up. Cage backs Alexander into the turnbuckles. The referee calls for a clean break. Alexander shoves Cage. Cage with a waist lock go-behind. Cage applies a side headlock. Alexander sends Cage to the corner. Cage applies a front face lock. Alexander applies a wrist lock. Alexander with a drop toe hold. Cage avoids The Ankle Lock. That leads us to a quick standoff in the center. Cage pie faces Alexander. Alexander with a double leg takedown. Ground and Pound Exchange. Cage side steps Alexander into the turnbuckles. Cage with The Pendulum Kick. Alexander puts Cage on the top turnbuckle. Alexander sends Cage crashing to the outside. Alexander punches Cage in the back. Alexander with a knife edge chop. Alexander rolls Cage back into the ring. Alexander hooks the outside leg for a one count. Alexander stomps on Cage’s back. Alexander with a knee drop. Alexander with a Pendulum BackBreaker for a two count. Cage with heavy bodyshots. Cage uppercuts Alexander. Alexander buries his shoulder into the midsection of Cage. Alexander with The Bridging Northern Lights Suplex for a two count. Cage denies The C4 Spike. Cage back drops Alexander to the floor. Cage goes for The Baseball Slide Dropkick, but Alexander applies The Ankle Lock.

Cage reverses out of the irish whip from Alexander. Alexander sends Cage into the ropes. Alexander with a Back Body Drop. Cage side steps Alexander into the turnbuckles. Alexander decks Cage with a back elbow smash. Alexander drops Cage with The Running Boot. Alexander kicks Cage in the gut. Cage denies The PowerBomb. Cage with a corner mount. Alexander with a PowerBomb onto the knee for a two count. Alexander goes for The Rolling Senton, but Cage lands back on his feet. Cage hits The Reverse DDT for a two count.

Alexander with The Flying Knee Drop for a two count. Cage fights out of the torture rack position. Cage kicks Alexander in the face. Cage drops Alexander with The Tornado DDT for a two count. Alexander avoids The Spear. Alexander delivers The Chaos Theory for a two count. Alexander applies The CrossFace. Cage starts biting Alexander’s fingers. Alexander applies The Ankle Lock. Alexander sends Cage crashing into the canvas. Alexander goes for The MoonSault, but Cage ducks out of the way. Cage Spears Alexander for a two count. Alexander denies The Kill Switch. Alexander launches Cage over the top rope. Cage ducks a clothesline from Alexander. Cage hangs the back of Alexander’s neck off the top rope. Cage sends Alexander crashing into the canvas. Cage lands The Frog Splash for a two count. Alexander denies The Kill Switch. Alexander with The Rolling Elbow. Alexander goes for The C4 Spike, but Cage counters with The Back Drop Driver. Alexander sends Cage shoulder first into the steel ring post. Alexander applies The Ankle Lock. Cage ducks a clothesline from Alexander. Alexander with a double leg takedown. Alexander makes Cage tap out to The Ankle Lock. 

Winner and NEW IMPACT World Champion, Josh Alexander

After the match, Cage hugs Alexander. Alexander starts celebrating with his family. Moose enters the ring and cashes in his Call Your Shot Trophy.

Moose stood over Alexander and Alexander’s wife and kids were in the ring as we go to credits.
