WWE Super SmackDown Results (9/10) New York City – We begin with a video package remembering the events of September 11, 2001.
We are live from Madison Square Garden in New York City, and your announcers are Michael Cole and the now covid free Pat McAfee welcome us to the show.
Roman Reigns’ music hits and all the members of The Bloodline make their way to the ring, slowly. During the long entrance, Cole hypes Finn Balor vs. Reigns at Extreme Rules, and The Street Profits vs. The Usos for tonight.
Roman asks Paul when it comes to sports entertainment, WWE runs New York City. Who runs WWE? Paul says Roman runs WWE. Roman says the tribal chief and bloodline runs WWE. Therefore, the Tribal Chief runs New York City. That means the Tribal Chief runs Madison Square Garden. Roman wants the arena to acknowledge Roman.
Brock Lesnar’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring, right off the farm.
Lesnar gets hyped up at the entrance as pyro goes off. Lesnar marches right into the ring and gets in Reigns’ face. The Usos step in front of Reigns and look Lesnar up and down. Fans chant “holy s–t!” and Lesnar just laughs at The Usos. Heyman says he fails to understand… he asks Lesnar of all the titles they can go after together, why the Universal Title? Heyman tells Lesnar to think of the success they can… Lesnar grabs the mic to hush Heyman. Lesnar asks Heyman why he didn’t tell Reigns that Lesnar was going to be at SummerSlam.
Reigns doesn’t look happy. Heyman pleads with him and says he didn’t know. Reigns snatches his Universal Title belt. Lesnar continues to laugh. Reigns and The Usos exit the ring now, leaving Heyman alone with Lesnar. Fans chant “Suplex City!” now. Heyman takes the mic and begins his old intro for Lesnar. Lesnar gets hyped up and applauds. Lesnar then takes the mic and says that was great, just like old times. Lesnar asks Heyman, before Reigns fires him, accept Lesnar’s challenge for the Universal Title. He grabs Heyman but lets go. Heyman looks dumbfounded. Lesnar says Heyman has 5 seconds to answer. He scoops Heyman for the F5 but Reigns rushes back in and knocks Heyman free with a big Superman Punch to Lesnar. Lesnar looks to go for Reigns and scoops him for a F5 but The Usos hit the ring and unload on Lesnar with superkicks. Lesnar comes back with a double clothesline to drop them both as fans go wild. Lesnar then delivers a German suplex to Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso. The Bloodline retreats as Lesnar stands tall in the ring while fans cheer him on.
— We see the two sides in the ten man tag match walking in the hallway like the Sharks and the Jets.

Backstage:
We are back and Roman leads his family in the back and Kayla Braxton ambushes them and Jimmy, Jey, and Roman walk into the locker room. Paul is asked if Roman is going to answer Brock’s challenge. Paul says with everything going on, Kayla is standing around trying to ambush them and ask these questions. Brock will answer the challenge when he is ready to answer the challenge.
Big E, Rick Boogs, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rey Mysterio, and Dominik Mysterio vs. Apollo Crews, Otis , Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode, and Sami Zayn
Sami Zayn interrupts Nakamura’s entrance and he says he loves New York while wearing a Bernard King jersey. He says they have a special guest who knows about winning in Madison Square Garden. Sami brings out Trae Young of the Atlanta Hawks.
Nakamura and Ziggler start things off and Nakamura with forearms and an axe kick. Nakamura kicks Roode. Otis with a forearm and he sends Nakamura to the floor. Nakamura with a kick to Gable on the floor. Otis knocks Nakamura off the apron and into the announce table. Nakamura gets back into the ring and Otis stands on Nakamura. Otis with an Irish whip and a splash into the corner.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Nakamura with a round kick to Zayn and both men are down. Rey tags in and he hits a seated splash and he knocks Roode off the apron. Rey with a back heel kick to Sami followed by a Code Red for a near fall. Apollo with an enzuigiri to Dominik. Boogs with an exploder to Crews. Otis knocks Boogs down. Nakamura takes care of Otis. Big E with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex on Ziggler. Rey sends Ziggler into the ropes and Zayn trips Rey. Sami chokes Rey in the ropes and Young chokes Rey in front of the referee.
Trae is sent to the back with a Flagrant Foul 2.
Dominik drops Sami on the top rope and Rey drop kicks Sami in the back. Big E tags in and Rey and Dominik with stereo 619s and then Big E with a Big Ending to Sami for the three count.
Winners: Rick Boogs, Shinsuke Nakamura, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, and Big E
After the match, Kayla asks Big E about their victory. Big E says they had a hell of a team, like the Knicks. Kayla asks Big E what is next for him. Big E says you know what is next for him. This might not be the last time you see me out here. Whether it is Bobby Lashley or Roman Reigns, if you have what I need, I am coming for your neck. It might be next Monday on Raw or it could be any night. If you have what I need, you gonna feel his power.
— Bianca Belair makes her way to the ring for the contract signing with Becky Lynch. But first, we go to commercial.
In the Arena:
Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville join Bianca in the ring with the carpet and table. Adam says when Bianca signs the contract, the match will be official.
Bianca comments on being in Madison Square Garden. The last time I was in the ring with Becky, I didn’t expect a title match but we know how great Becky is. Bianca says she respect Becky as a competitor and a new mom. She respected how Becky would never run from a fight. My have things changed. She got her at SummerSlam. Becky brings up the 26 seconds because if they went toe to toe, the outcome would be different. Bianca says she does not respect Becky as much as she did. Bianca says Becky can win back some respect while I win back my championship.
Bianca signs the contract.
Becky Lynch’s music plays and she makes her way to the ring and she has a snuffleupagus on her back.
Becky says the original Wrestlemania main eventer is here. She asks ESTer when she knew she had her number. it was when my music played and you were starstruck. There is nothing wrong with being in the crowd with everyone. Becky says she would give Bianca her match. Maybe it was going to be tonight and I would have beaten her in 20 seconds. Becky asks what happens if she doesn’t sign the contract?
Sonya tells Becky to sign the contract. Bianca tells Becky to sign the damn contract.
Becky complains about the fans chanting ‘sign it’. You were chanting “We Want Becky” when I was at home. Then I came back on last minute notice and saved your asses. I beat the champion in 26 seconds and this is how you treat me? I left my baby girl at home for you and you are favoring a flash in the pan over me?
Becky says if you can’t join them, beat them. I will give you the match and it will end the same way. Becky signs the contract and tosses it to Bianca.

Backstage:
We are back after two commercials, and Paul Heyman is on the phone when he walks past Shotzi Blackheart and Tegan Nox and they ask if he needs a ride. Paul turns around into Kayla Braxton who ambushes him for an answer. Paul says Roman Reigns will witness his cousins defend the Smackdown Tag Team Champions and then, live, in Madison Square Garden, Roman Reigns will answer the challenge of Brock Lesnar. Whether it is a yes or a no? Don’t you love a good cliffhanger.
Paul turns into Big E. Big E holds up the briefcase and giggles.
Edge vs. Seth Rollins
They lock up and Edge with a wrist lock. Rollins with a reversal and an arm wringer. They lock up and Edge with a side head lock and take down. Rollins with a head scissors and Edge escapes. Edge with a side head lock and Rollins with a drop kick to the leg. Edge with a rollup for a near fall. Edge with forearms followed by an Irish whip. Edge avoids being sent into the turnbuckles by Rollins. Edge sends Rollins into the turnbuckles and then sends Rollins shoulder first into the ring post. Edge goes for an arm bar but Rollins rolls to the floor and then Rollins pulls Edge to the floor and into the ringside barrier and apron. Edge kicks Rollins while Rollins is in the ropes. Rollins with a knee to Edge.
Rollins goes up top and rolls away from Rollins. Rollins with a Harley Race knee to the back and Edge goes through the ropes to the floor. Rollins with a suicide dive as we go to commercial.
We are back and Rollins punches Edge against the ringside barrier. Rollins with a super kick for a near fall. Rollins with a top wrist lock. Rollins with a dragon screw leg whip to Edge. Rollins blocks a kick and Edge with punches. Edge misses an enzuigiri and Rollins hits a Glam Slam. Rollins sets for another one and he hits it. Rollins gets a near fall. Rollins with a kick and he goes for Edgecution but Edge blocks it. They go back and forth. Rollins with a sunset flip but Edge rolls through. Edge with a Pedigree for a near fall.
Edge goes to the turnbuckles and hits a clothesline on the floor.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Rollins with an arm drag. Edge with a full nelson slam for a near fall. Edge goes up top and Rollins goes to the turnbuckles for a superplex but Rollins is sent face first to the mat by Edge. Edge comes off the turnbuckles and avoids a boot. Edge with a Scorpion Death Lock but Rollins sends Edge into the turnbuckles. Rollins goes for a LeBell Lock but Edge escapes. Edge with a Crossface and he rolls Rollins into the center of the ring. Edge keeps Rollins from reaching for the ropes. Edge slams Rollins’ head into the mat but Rollins gets to the ropes. Edge wtih an Edgecution and then Edge sets for a spear but Rollins with a neck breaker. Edge counters Black Out with a sit out power bomb.
