Update On Keith Lee’s Rumored Heel Turn – Keith Lee worked WWE house shows this past weekend where he wrestled Akira Tozawa. Fans noticed that Lee had changed up his look, which is what he had when he was on top in NXT as he is sporting a beard once again.
When Lee first made his main roster debut, he had changed up his look by shaving in addition to having singlet gear.
The former NXT Champion has been working on dark matches for the past several weeks. Lee had been gone from television for several months with health issues. After testing positive for COVID-19 in February, he battled issues with his heart.
When Lee first came back, he was booked as a babyface and did jobs for the likes of Bobby Lashley and Karrion Kross. While working dark matches, Lee has been portrayed as a heel.
It’s been reported that WWE wants to change Lee’s style and to give him a new character. By working dark matches, it’s a way for him to practice in front of fans. It’s still unclear when Lee will return to TV.
