During an interview with talkSPORT’s Alex McCarthy, Becky Lynch confirmed the rumors that she was originally set for a match at WrestleMania.
Lynch told McCarthy that she was good to go for the show and there was talk that she would face Bayley. If you remember, there were rumors going around all weekend that Lynch would confront Bayley on the show.
Instead, Bayley did a promo segment and she got physical with Nikki and Brie Bella. Apparently, that segment was originally going to be Bayley and Lynch.
Lynch also confirmed that she was originally set to return in October but WWE called her on the week of SummerSlam so they could have her win the SmackDown Women’s Title from Bianca Belair. As many of you know, Sasha Banks was supposed to face Belair on that show but she was not cleared to wrestle and then Lynch was her surprise replacement.
