As noted, WWE announced that Roman Reigns vs. “The Demon” Finn Balor at Extreme Rules will be an Extreme Rules match, and that’s the only match scheduled for the PPV that has a stipulation attached to it as of now. That’s unusual because WWE usually has several match stipulations announced for Extreme Rules in previous years.
Ringside News reported that as of the last creative meeting, there were no stipulations locked in and there was no creative meeting on Sunday. They cited a tenured member of the creative team saying that “nobody should be surprised” that none of the stipulations have been nailed down yet for the pay-per-view.
These days in WWE, nothing is surprising since we hear stories all the time about plans changing and Vince McMahon ripping up scripts just hours before the shows go live. Presumably, more stipulations will be announced by Friday night on SmackDown.
WWE Extreme Rules will air this Sunday night on Peacock and will take place at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio. Fans outside of the United States can watch the show on the WWE Network.
