WWE SmackDown Results (8/13) – Tulsa, OK – We are live from the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK, as John Cena makes his way to the ring to start the show. While Cena poses for the crowd, we see what happened two weeks ago during Finn Balor – Roman Reigns contract signing.
John says we are signed, sealed and delivered for SummerSlam. John says that since school is staring, it is time for him to give Roman his report card. He says Roman is a D. A D-bag and a huge D-ssappointment. They have been selling you Roman Reigns for years and only Roman is buying. John says he will give Roman an F at SummerSlam. John asks Tulsa for their thoughts and he has a pop quiz.
He asks if they think Roman Reigns will beat the hell out of him at SummerSlam. John says Roman WILL beat the hell out of him at SummerSlam, but Roman is going to lose at SummerSlam and there isn’t a damn thing Roman can do about it.
Roman Reigns’ music plays and he makes his way to the ring with Paul Heyman but he takes so much time we know everything else that is happening on tonight’s show.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Roman is still not in the ring, but don’t worry, he’s entering.
John introduces Roman and thanks him for showingup. Paul hands Roman a mic and then remembers to hold up the title belt. Roman tells John not to waste his time and get things going. John says he won’t waste your time, but he will wait a week to embarrass Roman on the greatest stage of them all. Roman asks if that is all you got.
John says that is all he needs. You waltz around here thinking it is your show and we have to play by your rules. You think this is your company. Everybody knows it belongs to them. You want to throw up in your mouth because you feel you are so much better than everyone. I am the only one who can shut you up. You have been pushed for a decade but it has been failure after failure. You have built up a layer of protection so no one can beat you. I was asked to come back to give you a big piece of humble pie when I kick your ass.
They know there is one week to choose between Team Reigns and Team Cena.
Roman asked if we were going to get something fresh. We got D jokes and penis jokes. We heard that before. He wants John to hit him with good stuff.
John says Roman will beat his ass at SummerSlam. Spear, spear, big punch made after a DC superhero. You are going to beat my ass at SummerSlam. I don’t have to prove myself. I just need to pin you. If I can hold on to that one more time, it would be the 17th championship for me. That would make me the most decorated champion of all time. That would make this match history. I just need a 1-2-3. As fun as it would be for me, it is all about you. I am here to help you.
Roman says he won’t bury his opponent and beat a bum. I am not like that. I do stellar storytelling. You are John Cena, arguably the greatest of all time. You have done things that no one else has done before. On the cusp of being a 17 time champion. You are the best. You might take every slot on WWE’s Mount Rushmore. I would be proud to say that I can beat John Cena. You can juggle Hollywood and WWE at the same time. We don’t have enough time to promote your movies. Your career says it. You are good enough to stand in the ring and verbally joust with anyone. You are good enough to main event SummerSlam with the Tribal Chief. You are good enough to win the WWE Championship, but not the Universal Championship. Twenty years of missionary might have been good enough for you, but it wasn’t good enough for Nikki Bella. I am going to smash you. Then I am going to retain this title. I am going to send you back to Hollywood. This might be the last time we get John Cena. Take us home, kid.
John says if you want a compelling story. If you want to be hypocritical and bring up dick jokes and then talk about sex and a relationship that didn’t work. You have been protected. You have been protected by the Shield. You ruined Seth Rollins. You ran out Dean Ambrose. You have been in five Wrestlemania main events and have had Paul Heyman and your cousins as your lackeys and it has not worked. You are right about so much. SummerSlam is compelling. You will smash me. He knows how much I can take. I built Suplex City and all I have to do is hang in there for a 1-2-3 and you are the biggest failure.
Then you are the answer to a trivia question, who did John Cena beat to become a 17 Time Champion. You are going to put on a hell of a show, but I am going to hang in there for a 1-2-3. I am going to win the title, run over the barricade and get out of Allegiant Stadium as fast as I can and maybe blow you a kiss goodbye. No one can protect you. At SummerSlam, the champ is gone… 1-2-3.
Cena leaves as Roman Reigns smiles in the ring. We go to commercial.

Seth tells Tulsa they have been on fire tonight. He says he hates to play the role of party pooper but his sources have told him that Edge will not be here tonight. Seth says he is as disappointed as you are because he would like nothing more than to put his fist in Edge’s face for all of those lies from last week. Seth says he wants Edge, just like the crowd. Seth says that you have the next best thing . . . Edge Light. If that is not the most narcassistic and egotistical thing, I don’t know. It makes perfect sense. Edge is a Hall of Famer and he has done everything there is to do in WWE. He cannot stand the fact that Seth’s career has been a little bit better than his. Everything that Edge has done, I have done better. We have proof.
We have a video package.
Seth says he sees no lies. The video footage doesn’t lie. Seth says as he was watching that, he had a bit of a revelation. Seth says Edge should be thanking him. Not just Edge, but all of you should be thanking Seth. If he had stomped on Edge in 2014, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. The dream match at SummerSlam would not be on the table. Edge’s epic comeback, the Royal Rumbles, or Wrestlemania wouldn’t have happened. Edge wouldn’t be pushing his girls on a swingset because they would be pushing him in a wheelchair.
The crowd chants for Edge and Seth says Edge has pushed him too far and made him say things he didn’t want to say. He has put himself between Seth and the Universal Title and that has affected his family. This is not 2014 any more. Times have changed and he has changed. He will not hesitate or hold back. He will stomp Edge’s head into this mat and if that puts you out for good, then so be it.
