Update On Plans For Daniel Bryan’s AEW Debut

Update On Plans For Daniel Bryan's AEW Debut

During tonight’s Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez provided an update on AEW’s plans for Bryan Danielson. It was reported a couple of days ago that Danielson’s AEW debut was moved from AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam in New York to this Sunday’s All Out pay-per-view in Chicago.

Alvarez confirmed this today on Wrestling Observer Live but he acknowledged that there is a slight chance that this could change between now and the PPV.

Alvarez said, “This is what I can tell you about Daniel Bryan. I have been told that he will debut at All Out. I will not say 99.999 percent [certainty]…I was told weeks and weeks ago that his debut is going to be in Queens [NY], from a very good source. It is now apparent he will not debut in Queens. There was a change. I believe there was a change. I believe that he is going to debut at All Out on Sunday but I will not give you a 99.9999 percent because something could come up where they decide, you know what let’s do it in New York…the story that as of a couple of days ago the plan was for Daniel Bryan was to debut at All Out, I will confirm that. That, at this point or at least a couple of days ago, that was the idea for Bryan Danielson.”

This past Wednesday on AEW Dynamite, CM Punk reacted to a “YES” chant by telling the fans that they just needed to be patient for a little bit longer. That was the first real confirmation from someone in AEW that Danielson had signed with the company.

Danielson’s contract expired in April after WrestleMania and has not said much since his exit from WWE. He had been vocal about wanting to wrestle for New Japan Pro Wrestling and other companies. Presumably, he will have that opportunity now that he is with AEW.
