We noted back in June that WWE officials want Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to appear at Survivor Series this year.
In an update, Andrew Zarian from the Man Men Pro Wrestling podcast is reporting that The Rock is currently planned to be at the Survivor Series pay-per-view in November. Rock’s appearance will commemorate the 25th anniversary of his debut with the company. His first televised WWE match was in a traditional Survivor Series match in 1996.
Zarian also noted that the tentative plans are for the show to take place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. Rock’s 1996 debut was also in New York City but in Madison Square Garden.
We heard a while back that there were talks regarding Rock wrestling on the show, possible in a tag team match but we haven’t heard much about that in a while.
Presumably, whatever The Rock does on the show will kick off the storyline with Roman Reigns. Rock vs. Reigns is believed to be the big match planned for WrestleMania in Dallas next year.
