Shinsuke Nakamura Crowned As New King

Shinsuke Nakamura Crowned As New King – King Corbin held the King of the Ring moniker proudly, he also generated a ton of heat in the process. Now it appears that King Corbin is no more and he’s back to being the Lone Wolf, because Shinsuke Nakamura took his crown and cemented himself as the true “King of Strong Style”

Shinsuke Nakamura stole Corbin’s crown a few weeks ago and he’s had a lot of fun with it since then. We’ve seen videos of Nakamura driving around with his crown and showing off in public. They soon got to business in the ring.

In a “Battle for the Crown” on tonight’s Smackdown, Nakamura was able to come out on top. Corbin overpowered Nakamura early on, but two knees to the face rocked the King of the Ring winner.

Toward the end of the bout, Corbin attempted to hit Nakamura with a chokeslam, but Nakamura countered it. He nailed Corbin with an emphatic knee to the face, and he drilled Corbin with the Kinshasa for the win. As a result, Nakamura officially earned the right to wear the crown, and he celebrated the victory with Rick Boogs. SmackDown’s electric guitarist put the crown on Nakamura’s head to officially recognize him as the king.

We’ll have to see if Jerry Lawler says anything about Nakamura’s new distinction as WWE’s only crowned king. This came just in time for live events, but it was not noted as an actual King of the Ring transition of power. A possible King of the Ring tournament might come sooner than later to WWE thanks to a huge pull to book more gimmicked events.
