There has been a lot of speculation on what WWE actually has planned for tonight’s SmackDown because it is hard to believe that they would pull the Hell in a Cell match between Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio and give it away for free.
As reported by PWInsider, the match is actually scheduled to happen tonight and they are not swerving the fans.
The word going around backstage is that the match will close out tonight’s show and it will take up most of the second hour. WrestlingNews was told this afternoon that the match is listed on the format sheet so it appears to be really happening tonight.
At this point, there is still no word on why the match was pulled from Sunday’s pay-per-view or what the plans are to replace it.
As noted earlier, people at the USA Network are not happy that FOX is getting the Hell in a Cell match tonight. Basically, that match was taken away from NBCUniversal’s Peacock service so that it could be given away for free on FOX television so it’s understandable why the folks at NBCU/USA would be upset
