Plans For Roman Reigns And The Usos At SummerSlam – Last month we reported on long-term plans for The Usos to win the SmackDown Tag Team Championships with plans to have them win the belts from a babyface tag team.
Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode dropped the titles to Rey and Dominik Mysterio in order to set things up for The Usos to take the titles away from them. The Usos are now currently in a feud with Rey and Dominik with the story being that Jimmy and Jey cannot win without help from Roman Reigns.
Reigns will defend the Universal Championship against Rey Mysterio at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. We’re told that The Usos vs. Mysterio’s feud will continue into the summers and the idea is that Jimmy and Jey will eventually be fully onboard with Reings’ vision and they will win the SmackDown tag team titles by SummerSlam.
A WWE source told WrestlingNews, “Obviously, the plan is to build Roman up so fans see him as being on the level of Cena and Rock but this is also about making Jimmy and Jey look strong and we will get there by SummerSlam. This will be a tight-knit unit in a few months.”
There have been plans to bring Jimmy into Reigns’ stable since late last year and we’ve heard about discussions about bringing in another person at some point. Another WWE source said, “SummerSlam will be a big night for Roman and for Jimmy and Jey.”
