NXT Results – June 8, 2021 – Tonight’s “Takeover: In Your House 2021” go-home edition of NXT opens up with a video package to hype the show. We’re live from the Capitol Wrestling Center at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida as Vic Joseph welcomes us. He’s joined at ringside by Wade Barrett and WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix.

Austin Theory vs. Oney Lorcan

We go right to the ring and out first comes Austin Theory. Oney Lorcan is out next as Alicia Taylor does the introductions. We see video from earlier today of Theory and Johnny Gargano brawling with Lorcan and Pete Dunne until security broke it up.

They lock up and Theory with a side head lock but Lorcan with a wrist lock.  Theory with a kick but Lorcan with an Irish whip and Theory floats over and hits a drop kick.  Theory with a side head lock take down.  Lorcan with a head scissors.  Theory escapes the hold and he returns to the side head lock.  Lorcan with an uppercut but Theory tries for one and Lorcan blocks it.  They go back and forth with European uppercuts and Lorcan with a double leg take down and he works on the leg.  Theory with forearms to the back and a kick to escape the hold.  Theory with a clothesline to the apron and a leg sweep.  Theory with a suplex.  Lorcan with chops.

Lorcan with kicks in the corner.  Lorcan with a back elbow.  Lorcan with a European uppercut and Theory goes to the apron.  Lorcan with a knee to send Theory to the floor.  Lorcan chops Theory on the floor and Theory chops back.  Theory goes for a power bomb on the apron but Lorcan gets to the floor and he sweeps the leg and Theory falls on the apron.

Pete Dunne makes his way to the ramp and he makes his way to the bottom of the ramp.

Lorcan sends Theory back into the ring and Lorcan returns and hits a running clothesline.  Lorcan with an Irish whp and Theory with a Michaels flip in the corner.  Lorcan with a chop and he goes for a Boston crab and locks it in.  Theory gets to the ropes and Lorcan kicks Theory in the back.  Lorcan with a back breaker and he gets a near fall.  Lorcan with a rear chin lock.  Theory gets to his feet and Lorcan stops Theory and sends him back to the mat.  

Johnny Gargano is now at ringside for this match.

Lorcan with a running European uppercut and elbows in the corner.  Theory with a rolling blockbuster and both men are down.  Theory with forearms and Lorcan with European uppercuts.  Theory clotheslines Lorcan over the top rope to the floor.  Lorcan hits Theory from behind and it sends Theory to the floor.  Lorcan follows and he looks at Gargano before turning his attention to his opponent in the match.  Theory sends Lorcan into the ringside barrier a few times.  Theory sends Lorcan back into the ring and Theory wtih a clothesline in the corner and he hits a fallaway slam.  Theory runs into a boot and then Lorcan goes to the turnbuckles and Theory hits Lo Mein Pain for a near fall.  

Both men with clotheslines on the floor and Dunne and Gargano check on their men and their eyes meet and they exchange punches and forearms because it makes sense to do so.  Officials come out to separate them.  

Theory sends Lorcan into the apron and Theory is sent into the ring post after lookiing at the stage.  Lorcan with a half nelson uranage for the three count.

Winner:  Oney Lorcan

After the match, Gargano checks on Theory in the ring.  

— We go to LA Knight’s residence and he is in the shower.  He talks about the million dollar legacy and there is only one person to follow on that path.  Knight goes to the hot tub for story time with his ‘cousins’.  LA says that Cameron Grimes will get his ass kicked on Sunday while his idol laughs at him.  We take a look at LA’s car and he drives away.

We go to commercial.

– Back from the break and WWE Hall of Famer Michael “PS” Hayes, as his Dok Hendrix gimmick, delivers a promo for Sunday’s “Takeover: In Your House” event.

– We get a Progressive-sponsored replay of NXT Tag Team Champions MSK retaining over Legado del Fantasma last week.

– We go back to the ring and Legado del Fantasma is already out – Santos Escobar, Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde.

Escobar takes the mic and says he’s going to make NXT North American Champion Bronson Reed pay for what he did to Escobar and his partners last week. Escobar speaks in Spanish until the music interrupts and out comes Reed. He taunts Escobar and shows us a replay of how he smashed Escobar into the barrier last week, and again. The clip keeps replaying as Escobar seethes in the ring. He challenges Reed to come to the ring and try it again. Reed hits the ring as the music hits and out comes NXT Tag Team Champions MSK – Wes Lee and Nash Carter. The two sides face off in the ring now.

Escobar, Wilde and Mendoza exit the ring as fans boo. Escobar proposes a six-man Winners Take All match. Reed accepts the challenge. MSK wants to see another replay of Escobar getting smashed into the barrier last week. The two sides continue yelling at each other. The music interrupts and out comes Hit Row Records – Isaiah “Swerve” Scott with “Top Dolla” AJ Francis, Ashante “Thee” Adonis and “B-Fab” Briana Brandy. Escobar isn’t happy with the interruption. Hit Row stops on the ramp and has a brief showdown with Legado del Fantasma. Reed and MSK hit the apron as Hit Row enters the ring. Hit Row also has words with MSK and Reed. The champs leave as Hit Row hits the corner to pose. Back to commercial.

Isaiah “Swerve” Scott vs. Killian Dain

They lock up and Dain backs Scott into the corner and Scott goes into the ropes.  Scott with a side head lock and Dain with a wrist lock and arm wringer.  Dain with a wrist lock take down.  Scott gets back to his feet and Dain holds on to the wrist lock.  Dain with a shoulder tackle to Scott.  Dain with a fireman’s carry.  Scott with a kick and he slaps Dain but Scott goes to the floor for his safety.  Dain teases a dive but Hit Row moves out of the way.  Scott hits Dain from behind while Dain has some words with Top Dolla.  Dain with a clothesline.

Scott goes to the apron and Dain goes to the apron and clotheslines Scott back into the ring.  B-Fab distracts Dain and Scott with a leg sweep.  Scott with a running boot to the head.  Scott rolls Dain back into the ring.  Scott with a running forearm and he gets a near fall.  Scott with a fish hook.  Scott with a boot to the head.  Dain blocks a kick and Scott with a punch but Dain punches back.  They go back and forth until Dain gains the advantage with European uppercuts and forearms.

Dain with an Irish whip and a clothesline.  Dain with an Irish whip and Scott avoids Dain and Dain with a running cross body for a near fall.  Dain gets Scott up on his shoulders and Scott escapes and hits Dain with a foerarm.  Scott avoids a boot by rolling out of the way and Scott with a DDT.  Scott with a jumping back heel kick for a near fall.  Scott with a half nelson and Dain with a snap mare and kick.  Dain gets Scott up and hits an accordion slam followed by a back senton.  Adonis goes after Dain and Maverick with a cannonball off the steps.  Top Dolla gives Drake a Death Valley Driver on the apron.

Scott takes advantage of a distracted Dain to pull him off the turnbuckles.  Scott with a running side heel kick for the three count.

Winner:  Isaiah Scott

— We see Poppy walking in the building.  

— McKenzie asks Candice and Indi about Poppy.  Candice says you have the women’s tag champions right here and they talk about Poppy.  Indi says that Dexter still cares and she runs away.  Candice says they were never a think and she walks the other way. Back to commercial.

— We are back with a look at Cameron Grimes’ house and he is enjoying his pool.  He says Ted DiBiase is looking for someone to maintain the Million Dollar Legacy.  He lights a cigar with a $100 bill and Cameron coughs as he lights it.  Cameron samples a beverage and he coughs.  Cameron says he didn’t show anything Ted hasn’t seen before, but he wanted to show the focus he has to take the Million Dollar Legacy… TO THE MOON!

Mercedes Martinez vs. Local Talent

As Mercedes makes her way to the ring, Xia Li attacks her from behind and sends her into the apron.  Li with a forearm to the back.  Li with a kick to the midsection and a second one.  Li sends Martinez into the ring.  Martinez with forearms to Li and a thrust kick that sends Li to the floor.  Martinez follows and she runs Li into the apron and over the ringside barrier where officials separate the two.

Back in the ring, Martinez hits her opponent with a boot and an Air Raid Crash for the three count in less than 10 seconds.

Winner:  Mercedes Martinez

After the match, Martinez tells Xia she messed with the wrong one.

— Breezango is in the back with McKenzie.  Fandango asks why is WALTER so angry.  Breeze talks about Fabio and Marsupial but Fandango calls them by their proper names.  Breeze says if they have to beat them on their way back to the titles, Aichner and Barthel will be disappointing WALTER again.

— Ted DiBiase walks in the back as we go to commercial.

— Poppy is in the back with Triple H and William Regal.  Triple H thanks her for all of the tracks she is letting them use.  He asks when does the album drop.  Poppy says it drops right now.  Hunter is amazed that Poppy just pushed a button to release her new album everywhere.

Dexter Lumis shows up and he has a drawing for Poppy.  Poppy hugs Lumis. Indi shows up and she sees the hug and she storms off. Hunter says that was a little awkward.

— We see Cameron Grimes and LA Knight arriving in the parking lot. They take shots at each other while entering the building. WWE Hall of Famer “The Million Dollar Man” is in the ring now. He asks Knight and Grimes to join him in the ring for this priceless announcement.

We see Knight and Grimes walking in the back. Knight tosses a bunch of money on the ground and Grimes stops to pick it up. Knight makes his entrance as his music hits but he’s interrupted by Grimes and his music. Grimes and Knight keep trying to one-up each other as they head to the ring with DiBiase, who has a podium set up in the middle of the ring.

DiBiase says this will be the ultimate test at Takeover and both have proved themselves worthy, but it’s time to climb the ladder of success, literally. Ted’s music starts back up as a gold ladder lowers from the ceiling. DiBiase says it’s called a Ladder Match. Knight cuts a promo on how he will win on Sunday because there’s only one man who can carry the Million Dollar Legacy, and that’s him. Grimes responds with a promo of his own, going on about how he can’t be beat in front of these fans. Grimes says he’s taking the Million Dollar Legacy straight to the moon. He says this from a few rungs up the ladder. He tells Ted he doesn’t see what he’s supposed to be reaching for. Ted is glad he asked.

Ted calls for his armored security to bring the black case in the ring. The case is placed on the podium and Ted talks about how they will fight, crawl, grab, use ever fiber of energy and muscle in their bodies just so they can have this… he opens the case to reveal the Million Dollar Belt. Ted says this Sunday at Takeover, whoever wins the Ladder Match will become the new Million Dollar Champion. Ted does his signature laugh and the music starts back up as Knight and Grimes face off and have words.

— We see Kyle O’Reilly and Karrion Kross held back by security and William Regal yells at both of them as we go to commercial.

— We are back with Ever Rise Live.  Matt mentions that Ever Rise will be hosting the Pre-Pre Show, the show before the preshow.  Chase says he will see you Sunday and Matt says Ever Rise rules.

James Drake and Zack Gibson vs. August Grey and Ikemen Jiro

Gibson and Grey start off and they lock up. Gibson with a take down into a front face lock. Gibson with a wrist lock and Grey with a side head lock and head scissors take down. Jiro tags in and he works on the arm and Gibson sends Jiro to the mat. Gibson with a side head lock and Jiro with a punch using his jacket. Jiro is sent to the apron and he hits a springboard head scissors take down. Gibson with a jaw breaker and he knocks Grey off the apron. Gibson tries to take off the jacket and Jiro with punches. Gibson with a side head lock and Drake tags in and he drop kicks Jiro in the knee and Gibson with a drop kick. Drake with a drop kick off Gibson’s back to knock Grey off the apron.

Drake kicks Jiro in the back of the leg and he works on the injured knee. Drake with boots to the back of the knee and he follows with an elbow drop to the leg. Gibson tags in and they go for a double slam into the ropes. Jiro kicks Gibson and Gibson kicks Jiro in the midsection. Drake tags in and Gibson with an atomic drop to the knee and Drake with a dragon screw leg whip. Drake with a single leg crab and he sees Ciampa and Thatcher make their way to ringside with chairs.

Grey tags in and he punches Drake and Gibson. Grey with a jaw breaker to Gibson and a neck breaker. Grey with a chop in the corner. Grey with a bulldog. Grey goes up top and hits a twisting cross body. Grey goes for So Much Prettier but Drake lands on his feet. Drake with a clothesline and Gibson tags in. Jiro is knocked off the apron and then they hit Ticket to Mayhem for the three count.

Winners: James Drake and Zack Gibson

After the match, Zack Gibson asks if Thatcher and Ciampa got the message because they are done with them.  We are here for MSK and the tag titles.  We have already proven we are a better tag team than you.  You have proven that you are two hooligans.

Ciampa says you aren’t getting a tag title shot unless you go through us. Ciampa and Thatcher throw their chairs at the ring.

Gibson says if it is a scrap you want, it is a scrap you will get. How about next week, we forget about tag rules and make it tornado rules.  Ciampa says there are three things you should know about us.  We love tornadoes.  We don’t need tags.  We don’t need to wait until next week. Ciampa and Thatcher go into the ring and Gibson and Drake go to the floor. Thatcher says he will enjoy breaking your limbs.

— Candice LeRae is in the back and we go to commercial.

— We are back and we look at what Oney Lorcan did to Bobby Fish a few weeks ago. Bobby Fish is training and he tells Oney don’t think for a second that I have forgotten you.

— Candice LeRae makes her way to the ring.

Candice says she is sick of hearing about Poppy.  You hijacked my interview last week and this week you stole Indi’s man.  Everyone knows that they are a thing.  Because of you, Indi has left this building and she is in tears.  You have two options.  You can do it the easy way.  You can come out and apologize.  We can do it the hard way and I can introduce you to the NXT Parking Lot.

Poppy makes her way to the stage and she says she doesn’t wrestle but she knows someone who does.

Out comes Io Shirai. Candice is confused about what she is seeing. Io and Poppy moves to the ring where Io hits Candice with a double leg take down and a flapjack and Tiger Feint Kick.  Io with a springboard drop kick and Candice goes to the floor. Io and Poppy celebrate on the ring.

— We go back to Dok Hendrix and he announces the addition of the Winner Takes All Six Man Tag Match, Mercedes Martinez faces Xia Li, The Million Dollar Championship Ladder Match, Raquel Gonzalez versus Ember Moon, and the Fatal Five Way Match.

— We are back with a look at what happened during the commercial break with Io Shirai and Poppy coming through the Gorilla Position and Raquel Gonzalez with Dakota Kai on their way to the ring for Dakota’s match.

Ember Moon vs. Dakota Kai

Moon goes for a flying boot and Kai moves.  Kai with a kick to the leg and both with punches at the same time.  They push each other and then lock up and go around the ring.  Moon backs Kai into the corner and slams Kai’s head into the turnbuckles.  Kai sends Moon face first into the turnbuckles and she follows with a face wash.  Kai gets a near fall.  Kai with a forearm to the back.  Kai sends Ember into the turnbuckles and she chokes Ember in the corner.  Kai with a hard Irish whip and a face wash in the corner for a near fall.

Kai with a boot to the back and she chokes Ember but Ember kicks Kai in the face.  Kai with a pie face and punch.  Moon screams and Kai with a knee to the midsection.  Moon lands on her feet on a hip toss and Ember with an arm drag and drop kick.  Moon with a flatliner for a near fall.  Moon with a forearm to the back of the head.  Moon with a snap mare and kick to the back.  Moon with a forearm followed by a Irish whip and elbow into the corner.  Kai gets her knees up when Moon charges into the corner.  Moon with a forearm to the back.  Kai with a forearm and she spins Moon into the ring post.

Kai kicks Ember when Ember returns to the ring.  Kai rubs Moon’s face in the mat.  Kai gets a near fall.  Moon with a forearm and rollup for a near fall.  Kai with a boot to Moon for a near fall.  Kai with a forearm to the back of the head and a body scissors.  Moon leans back and gets a near fall.  Kai with a clothesline.  Kai with a cravate.  Kai with a reverse chin lock into a sleeper.  Moon flips forward to escape the hold.  Moon with a back drop and clothesline.

Moon with an enzuigiri to Kai and Moon with a snap mare and she goes to the turnbuckles and hits a Codebreaker for a near fall.  Kai stops Moon from going to the ropes and Moon with a back heel kick.  Kia with a forearm and a boot followed by a snap mare and kick to the back.  Kai misses a kick and Moon with a somersault stunner for a near fall.  Moon with a dragon sleeper.  Kai with Cross Rhodes for a near fall.  Kai with Kawada kicks to Moon.  Moon blocks Kai and Kai with a scorpion kick and another kick.  Kai with a Yakuza Kick from second for a near fall.  Kai gets Ember on her shoulders but Moon escapes and Moon gets Kai on her shoulders and hits a power bomb for a near fall.

Gonzalez checks on Kai on the floor and Moon follows to the floor.  Gonzalez misses a boot while Kai distracts the referee.  Moon with a forearm.  Moon sends Kai to the floor and hits a suicide dive on Gonzalez and Kai.  Moon with a boot to the head and she goes to the turnbuckles for Eclipse.  Gonzalez with a boot and the referee calls for the bell.

Winner by DQ:  Ember Moon

After the match, Moon gets back into the ring and she hits Gonzalez in the back.  Kai hits Moon in the back and Moon wiht a boot to Kai but Gonzalez with a clothesline and she tries for the choke slam but Moon counters with a cutter.  Moon is sent to the apron and Moon drops Gonzalez on the top rope and hits Eclipse. Moon grabs the title and stands over Gonzalez.

— Karrion Kross is in the back and he says that you have been afforded the opportunity to go face to face with me.  You do not have to wait until Sunday to get flatlined.  Now is your opportunity to show the world.  Don’t be late. Back to commercial.

— We go right back to the middle of the ring and NXT General Manager William Regal is facing off with NXT Champion Karrion Kross. Scarlett is with Kross. A furious Regal says he has seen what’s gone down tonight and this is not happening. Kross may be the champion but he does not run things around here. This is not happening.

Kross snatches the mic and says Regal doesn’t run anything, and doesn’t run NXT. Kross says this show has been out of control for a long time and now we’re in his world. Kross isn’t leaving the ring until his 4 challengers come to the ring, face him and get their ass kicked.

Kyle O’Reilly appears on the stage and taunts Kross about taking the title. Johnny Gargano comes from the crowd now. He stands on the announce table, taking shots at O’Reilly and Kross as fans boo. He tries talking Kross into choking O’Reilly out. Kross calls Gargano a mark and invites him into the ring. Pete Dunne comes from near the stage now, telling Kross to shut up. He’s tired of waiting and is ready to show them all why he’s the baddest man in NXT. Dunne is on the apron now. O’Reilly also. Kross and Scarlett are in the ring. Regal and security watch from ringside.

Adam Cole appears on the big screen, taking shots at the others and calling Kross the dumbest of them all. Cole goes on about how Kross is afraid to face him one-on-one. Cole talks about ending Kross’ NXT Title reign on Sunday and signs off, saying he will leave the others to fight it out. O’Reilly calls Cole too big of a b—h to be here. He steps to Kross but gets dropped. A big brawl breaks out now with everyone but Cole getting involved. Kross ends up launching Dunne, then O’Reilly, then members of security. O’Reilly attacks but Kross boots him to the mat with ease. Security holds Kross while the others take advantage and attack him. O’Reilly drops Kross gain, then Gargano and Dunne. Kross levels O’Reilly with the running forearm from behind. Kross grabs the NXT Title belt as a “NXT!” chant breaks out.

Kross raises the title in the air but Cole runs in out of nowhere and superkicks him to his knees. Cole with another superkick to stun Kross. Cole then delivers the Last Shot to put Kross down. Fans chant for Cole now. He picks up the NXT Title belt and raises it in the air while the other 4 Superstars are laid out. The final NXT show before “Takeover: In Your House” goes off the air with Cole raising the NXT Title.
