NXT Results – June 22 – We are live from the Capitol Wrestling Centre and your announcers are Vic Joseph, Beth Phoenix, and Wade Barrett.
Adam Cole makes his way to the ring and he says last week Regal decided he had to fight Kyle O’Reilly at the Great American Bash. Last week, Samoa Joe assaulted him. Tonight, he gets to hand pick his opponent. Adam says he was in his locker room and he says there ain’t no way in hell he is going to pick his opponent. He isn’t going to follow the rules just because Samoa Joe is here. Adam says that he is the king of the brand. After I embarrass Kyle at the Great American Bash, I will be recognized as the greatest NXT superstar.
Carmelo Hayes makes his way to the ring. Hayes says you might not know who he is, but he knows who Adam Cole is. If anyone is going to change your mind, it is me. Cole asks how does Hayes plan to change his mind.
Hayes says there is this phrase… Ruthless Aggression. Hayes punches Cole.
Adam Cole vs. Carmelo Hayes
Cole with punches and forearms. Hayes with a springboard clothesline and Cole goes to the floor. Hayes with a pescado but Cole with a boot to Hayes to knock him off the apron. Cole with punches and a suplex. Cole with a neck breaker. Cole chokes Hayes in the ropes. Hayes punches Cole but Cole with a forearm and more punches. Hayes kicks Cole away and Cole gets Hayes to flinch and Cole with a super kick to the knee. Hayes with a face buster followed by a clothesline for a near fall.
Hayes with punches in the corner. Cole sends Hayes into the turnbuckles. Cole runs into a boot and Cole knocks Hayes over the top rope to the floor. Cole sends Hayes into the ringside barrier and then into the plexiglass. Cole breaks the count and returns to the floor. Cole sends Hayes into the plexiglass again. Cole breaks the count again. Cole sends Hayes back into the ring and then he connects with a knee to the back and he applies a figure four head scissors.
Hayes gets to the ropes and Cole with a forearm and he sends Hayes into the turnbuckles. Cole with a punch and hard Irish whip. Hayes with a punch but Cole with a kick and a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Hayes with a forearm and Cole with a punch but Hayes with a kick. Cole with a European uppercut and Hayes with a forearm. Cole gets a near fall. Cole with a reverse chin lock. Cole with elbows to Hayes. Cole returns to the reverse chin lock.
Hayes gets to the ropes and Cole with a forearm and he sends Hayes into the turnbuckles. Cole with a punch and hard Irish whip. Hayes with a punch but Cole with a kick and a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Hayes with a forearm and Cole with a punch but Hayes with a kick. Cole with a European uppercut and Hayes with a forearm. Cole gets a near fall. Cole with a reverse chin lock. Cole with elbows to Hayes. Cole returns to the reverse chin lock. Hayes with punches and Cole with a back elbow. Cole sends Hayes into the turnbuckles and follows with a hard Irish whip. Hayes rolls to the floor. Hayes rolls back into the ring to beat the count. Cole with a forearm. Cole slaps Hayes and Hayes falls into the corner.
Hayes with a forearm and Cole fires back. They go back and forth. Hayes with a boot to Cole but Cole with a bicycle kick. Hayes counters a suplex into a cutter suplex. Cole with an inside cradle for a near fall. Hayes has a kick blocked but Hayes with an enzuigiri followed by a Codebreaker for a near fall. Hayes with a chop. Hayes gets Cole on his shoulders but Cole escapes and hits a lungblower for a near fall. Cole comes off the turnbuckles and Hayes with a super kick. Hayes with a springboard move and Cole with a super kicka nd Panama Sunrise for the three count.

— We go to footage from earlier today with Franky Monet, Aliyah, and Jessi Kamea. Franky talks about their matches and Franky suggests they be called the Winner’s Circle. Robert Stone shows up and Franky wishes Aliyah and Jessi luck, but Franky’s dog almost bites Stone.
— Zoey Stark is in the interview area and McKenzie asks why did Zoey help Io. Zoey says that she was paying it back for being her first opponent. Io says that she respects Zoey but does not like her and she walks away. Zoey says that mutual respect is all they need.
We go to commercial.
— We are back with LA Knight and he says history was made at Takeover with him becoming the Million Dollar Champion. Then he says he dropped what he doesn’t need and that is Ted DiBiase trying to ride the gravy train. Knight says the crowd chanted for Cameron Grimes and he came out to help DiBiase. You are a 100% moron idiot. Do you remember that fall you took at Takeover, that will be nothing when I drop you on your head.
— Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory make their way to the ring. Johnny says these are exciting times. We need a new champion and a new face of this brand. We don’t need angry faced Doomsday guy. We need the handsome, hard working, headband wearing, respectable family man. We need me. The 57 days I was NXT champion, this place thrived. It was the best that NXT ever was. It was paradise. I proved that Karrion Kross was not on my level at Takeover. I outclassed him every time we were in the ring. Everyone knows I can outwrestle him on his worst day.
Pete Dunne’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring with Oney Lorcan. Pete asks Johnny if he is mad. You must be mad if you think you are number one contender over me. Pete tells Austin to shut up. Johnny tells Austin they are trying to provoke him and start chaos. You are not provoked. There is a new way to do things. They do not participate in hijinks and shenanigans any more. There are rules for a reason Peter. They are good people. If you want to fight, you are not going to get it from us.
Johnny and Austin leave the ring. Austin tells Pete that he is watching him while on the apron and Pete pulls at the fingers.
— We see Cameron Grimes arriving at the building earlier today and he gives out some money as people ask about Ted DiBiase. Ari Sterling talks about going to the old folk’s home to check on DiBiase and he punches Sterling.
— Adam Cole tells McKenzie he is not going to talk about Kyle. He will do to Kyle what he did to Carmelo. William Regal shows up and he tells Cole there is no animosity between Joe and Cole. He tells Cole not to provoke him. Cole says he loves how Regal has done nothing to reprimand Joe for putting his hands on him. Cole says he doesn’t want to be here and he leaves.
We go to commercial.
— We are back and the phone charging graphic is at 31 percent.
— Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory go to William Regal’s office and Johnny asks if Regal saw what happened. Johnny says they are being model citizens and he has a pencil for Regal. Johnny says there needs to be consequences. They ask if Joe will choke them out or throw them through a wall. Johnny asks if Regal will knuck them out. Regal says they will face Pete and Oney tonight.
Zoey Stark and Io Shirai vs. Jessi Kamea and Aliyah
Aliyah and Io start things off and Io with a side head lock and Io with a take down and she gets Aliyah on her shoulders but Aliyah gets to her feet. Io with punches and chops. Aliyah pushes Io but Io with a flapjack and a drop kick to the head. Io sends Aliyah into the corner and she chokes Aliyah. Zoey tags in and she takes Aliyah down with a fireman’s carry into an arm bar. Aliyah with forearms but Zoey blocks an Irish whip. Aliyah with a head scissors but Stark lands on her feet.
Jessi tags in and Jessi with a rolling round kick for a near fall. Zoey with a rollup for a near fall. Zoey with a double stomp to the back. Jessi drops Zoey on the top rope and Jessi with an elbow drop for a near fall.
NXT Women’s Tag Champs Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwell make their way to the ring.
Aliyah chokes Zoey and Jessi tags in and kicks Zoey. Aliyah tags in and kicks Zoey. Zoey with a rollup for a near fall. Aliyah with a drop kick for a near fall.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Jessi with a head lock on Zoey and then Aliyah tags in. Jessi slams Aliyah onto Stark for a near fall. Aliyah with a waist lock. Stark with punches to Aliyah but Aliyah adds pressure in the body scissors. Stark picks up Aliyah and Stark with a power slam. Jessi and Io tag in and Io with forearms. Io with a flapjack and she knocks Aliyah off the apron. Io with a Tiger Feint Kick and she avoids Aliyah and kicks Aliyah. Io with a springboard drop kick for a near fall. Io with a double underhook but Jessi escapes and kicks Io.
Aliyah tags in and Aliyah with a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall. Io avoids a double suplex and tags in Stark. Stark with a springboard drop kick and a belly-to-back suplex. Io tags in and she goes up top after pointing at Candice and Indi. Io with a moonsault for the three count.
Winners: Io Shirai and Zoey Stark
After the match, Candice and Indi get on the apron but they take their time and Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai. Raquel says that Io went on vacation and got a new friend. Dakota says that no one is jumping the line ahead of them. Ember Moon and Shotzi Blackheart come out and Ember says that they are crazy if they think they are the number one contenders. Shotzi says they need to remind everyone and that means to kick their ass.
Everyone but the tag champs battle in the ring while Samoa Joe comes out and tells security to break things up.
— In the back, KUSHIDA says he knew his wrestling career will not last forever, but this will be a special moment for him. Back to commercial.
— We are back with a look at Grizzled Young Veterans versus Tommaso Ciampa and Timothy Thatcher. We are told that Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa will face MSK at the Great American Bash.
Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory vs. Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan
Lorcan and Gargano start things off and Lorcan with a knee and Gargano with a head scissors take down followed by a drop kick. Dunne tags in and Gargano with an arm drag but Dunne blocks an arm drag and Gargano with an arm drag into an arm bar. Theory tags in but Theory hurts his hand on the tag. Theory with a side head lock but Dunne with a clothesline. Lorcan tags in and they chop Theory. Lorcan with more chops in the corner. Lorcan works on the wrist and Dunne tags in and he pulls at the injured fingers. Dunne stomps on the elbow. Dunne stomps on the head. Dunne pulls at the injured hand and he pulls off the tape. Dunne with a knee drop to the hand.
Dunne stops Theory from making the tag and Dunne with a chop. Lorcan tags in and he chops Theory. Theory misses a punch but connects with an elbow. Theory with a slingshot stomp and a suplex to Lorcan. Gargano tags in and they hit a double back elbow and a double elbow drop. Dunne tags in and Gargano with a reverse atomic drop. Theory tags in and hits a rolling drop kick while Gargano holds Dunne up and Theory gets a near fall. Dunne with kicks to the leg and he applies a hammer lock and he applies an arm bar and puts his fist in the ribs and then punches Theory. Dunne with a knee drop to the arm and he punches Theory.
Dunne with a kick to the elbow. Dunne with an Irish whip and Theory floats over and hits a drop kick. Lorcan is knocked off the apron and Theory with a pescado but Dunne with a clothesline to Theory and a knee to Gargano. Lorcan tags in and they hit a double choke slam on the apron.

We are back and Lorcan tags in and Dunne with a surfboard and Lorcan with chops to Theory. Lorcan with a DDT. Dunne tags back in and Lorcan puts the arm on the mat and Dunne stomps it. Theory with a rollup for a near fall. Theory kicks Dunne away and Lorcan makes the tag but Theory cannot. Theory with a punch and Gargano tags in and he punches Lorcan and then hits a bulldog on Lorcan while clotheslining Dunne. Gargano with a thrust kick to Dunne followed by a slingshot spear on Lorcan and a suicide dive on Dunne.
Theory tags in and they kick Lorcan on the turnbuckles. Gargano with a kick and Theory with Lo Mein Pain. Dunne with a forearm to Gargano and Gargano with a discus clothesline to Dunne. Lorcan chops Theory but Theory with a chop and forearm. Lorcan with a running blockbuster. Dunne tags in and he kicks Theory in the chest and he puts the arm in a hammer lock while putting the other arm in a cross arm breaker and Dunne goes for the fingers but Gargano kicks Lorcan into Dunne. Gargano tags in and Dunne with a forearm. Both men with forearms. Dunne with a German suplex and he stomps on the had. Gargano goes to the floro adn tries for a slingshot spear but Dunne with a forearm.
Lorcan tags in and Gargano kicks Lorcan away and then sends Dunne into Lorcan. Lorcan and Dunne with a power bomb combination for a near fall. Theory pucnhes Dunne and then Dunne goes for the fingers. Theory goes for a power bomb but Dunne escapes. Lorcan with a European uppercut. Lorcan runs into a super kick and Dunne is sent to the floor. Gargano with a suicide dive into a DDT on Dunne. Gargano with a slingshot DDT for the three count.
Winners: Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory
After the match, Karrion Kross hits Gargano from behind. while Scarlett stands on the stage.
— We have a video package for Franky Monet.
We go to commercial.
— We are back and the battery is at 41 percent.
— Karrion Kross walks in the back with Scarlett and he sees Samoa Joe coming out of William Regal’s office. Kross says these are the rules. Unless provoked. Joe allows the champ to pass.
Joe turns around and sees Pete Dunne. Joe and Dunne stare at each other.
— Next week, we will have a number one contender’s Triple Threat match for next week to face Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae at the Great American Bash.
Elektra Lopez vs. Franky Monet
We go back to the ring and newcomer Elektra Lopez is being introduced. She is the former Karissa Rivera. Out next comes Franky Monet.
They lock up and Monet with a side head lock and take down. Lopez with a wrist lock and Monet with a reversal. Monet backs Lopez into the corner. Monet with a chop on the break. Monet runs into a back elbow and a boot. Lopez with a slam and elbow drops. Lopez does some dancing and Monet gets to the apron and connects with a shoulder. Lopez with forearms and Monet with a kick and knee followed by a leg trip. Monet with punches to Lopez. Monet kicks Lopez in the back.
Monet tosses Lopez to the mat by the hair. Monet with a forearm and Irish whip. Monet with an elbow into the corner and then she pulls Lopez to the mat and Monet misses a knee when Lopez moves. Lopez with chops to Monet followed by a jumping back elbow. Lopez with a bicycle kick and she gets Monet on her shoulders. Monet with a forearm and the Glam Slam for the three count.
Winner: Franky Monet
We go to McKenzie Mitchell with Bronson Reed. She asks him about Santos Escobar’s comments. Bronson says he does not understand Santos at all. He squished him into the barricade and then through the barricage. What does he have to do… Hit Row shows up and have words for Ever Rise and Reed as we go to commercial.
— We are back with a looka t Ever Rise Ninjas staking out HIt Row and they are going to tag Hit Row’s vehicle but Top Dolla is in the car and Parker asks if he knows it is them. Top Dolla says masks don’t work when you have your names on your clothes.
Chase Parker and Matt Martel vs. Top Dolla and Ashante Thee Adonis
Dolla with a shoulder tackle to Martel and he knocks Parker off the apron. Dolla punches Martel and Adonis tags in and then he takes off his shirt and throws it at Parker. Parker tags in and he punches Adonis but Adonis with a drop kick and he punches Parker. Adonis with knees to the ribs. Dolla tags in and he picks up Parker and Parker gets to his feet. Martel tags in and they double team Dolla but he pushes them away. Dolla goes over the top rope when Martel and Parker drop down. Parker goes for a suicide dive and Dolla with a forearm. Dolla pushes Martel into the corner and connects with a splash. Adomis with a super kick and then Dolla tags back in. Dolla and Adonis with a power bomb and neck breaker combination for the three count.
Winners: Ashante Thee Adonis and Top Dolla
After the match, Scott with a jumping back heel kick to Parker.
— Mercedes Martinez is in the back and she will be in a mixed tag match against Xia Li and Boa. Martinez says that she does not make friends easily. Xia Li attacks Martinez from behind and then Jake Atlas kicks Boa. He says he guesses he has joined the fight.
— Kyle O’Reilly says it was meant for him to face KUSHIDA. A great match is the by-product of them being in the ring together.

— We are back and the charger is at 51 percent.
— Next week, we will have a face-to-face session between MSK and the team of Timothy Thatcher and Tommaso Ciampa.
Kyle O’Reilly vs. KUSHIDA in a Non Title Match
They lock up and Kyle backs KUSHIDA into the ropes and Kyle with a single leg take down. KUSHIDA with a take down and he goes for a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock. Kyle gets the advantage and KUSHIDA bridges. KUSHIDA with a body scissors. Kyle gets KUSHIDA back to his feet and KUSHIDA with a take down. KUSHIDA goes for a cross arm breaker but Kyle escapes. They lock up and Kyle with a front face lock and KUSHIDA with a waist lock. Kyle with a take down and he goes for a triangle but KUSHIDA gets to the ropes. Kyle with a side head lock and Kyle with a boot to the head. KUSHIDA goes for a handspring back elbow but Kyle catches KUSHIDA and goes for an arm bar.
Kyle with an abdominal stretch but KUSHIDA with a hip toss to escape followed by a cartwheel and drop kick. KUSHIDA with a hammer lock using the leg and he twists the arm. KUSHDA with a wrist lock but Kyle with a forearm into the chin. KUSHIDA with kicks and an Irish whip. Kyle goes for the leg and KUSHIDA counters. Kyle grabs the leg and KUSHIDA escapes. Kyle avoids a take down. Kyle and KUSHIDA bump heads and go down. Kyle goes to the floor. KUSHIDA with a wrist lock and he puts his knee on the arm and then returns to the hammer lock using the leg. KUSHIDA pulls at the other arm. KUSHIDA with a Rings of Saturn using the legs and he bridges back.
Kyle with a waist lock and take down. Kyle with elbows to the back followed by knees to the ribs. Kyle with a running knee drop to the ribs. Kyle ties up KUSHIDA in a seated abdominal stretch. Kyle with a rollup for a near fall. KUSHIDA with a kick to the bakc of the leg and he kicks Kyle in the bakc of the leg again. Kyle kicks back. Kyle with a knee to the leg and a forearm. KUSHIDA with a kick to the shoulder and elbow. KUSHIDA with an arm wringer and he continues to work on the shoulder. KUSHIDA kicks Kyle in the corner. Kyle with a jumping knee. Kyle with a knee to the midsection and he follows with a judo throw. Kyle with a rear naked choke and body scissors.
Kyle with forearms to the back of the head. Kyle with kicks and strikes. KUSHIDA with a clothesline and reverse atomic drop. KUSHIDA with a hip toss into a cross arm breaker but Kyle escapes. KUSHIDA goes for the Hoverboard lock but Kyle escapes and goes for a cross arm breaker. KUSHIDA with the Hoverboard Lock but Kyle counters with a cross arm breaker. KUSHIDA with a kick to the arm and then he kicks the shoulder. Kyle goes for a Regalplex but KUSHIDA with knees. KUSHIDA with a Northern Lights suplex and Kyle gets his foot on the ropes to stop the count. KUSHIDA goes to the turnbuckles and he misses a knee to the arm when Kyle moves his arm.
Kyle with knees and kicks to the leg. Kyle with a roll into a heel hook but KUSHIDA with a bridge for a near fall. KUSHIDA with a forearm and Kyle with knees. Kyle tries for a suplex but KUSHIDA with a knee. KUSHIDA with a Pele Kick and Kyle with a rebound clothesline. Kyle with a brainbuster for a near fall. Kyle goes to the apron and then he goes up top. KUSHIDA with a handspring kick into the corner to send Kyle to the apron. KUSHIDA with a running divorce court onto the turnbuckle. KUSHIDA with kicks to the shoulder. Kyle wiht a gullotine but he cannot lock it in because of the damage done to the arm. KUSHIDA with a suplex on the apron.
KUSHIDA sends Kyle back into the ring and KUSHIDA with a kick to the arm and then Kyle with a knee to the head and Axe and Smash. KUSHIDA with a punch and both men are down. KUSHIDA works on the shoulder and he goes for the Hoverboard Lock but Kyle with a knee. KUSHIDA with a roll through into the Hoverboard Lock but Kyle keeps KUSHIDA from fully locking in the hold. KUSHIDA has it locked in but Kyle with a rollup for the three count.
Winner: Kyle O’Reilly
After the match, the music hits as they recover. KUSHIDA has a few words with the referee over the count. We go to replays. KUSHIDA and O’Reilly stand together now. Kyle pushes KUSHIDA to the side as he sees Adam Cole attacking from behind. Cole and O’Reilly brawl to ringside now, over the announce table. Security runs down to break them up. Samoa Joe is also there as they’re escorted away.
A man attacks KUSHIDA in the ring and beats him down. The man reveals himself and it’s Roderick Strong. Tyler Rust watches from the apron, along with Hideki Suzuki. Malcolm Bivens enters the ring and brings KUSHIDA’s NXT Cruiserweight Title belt in, showing it to Strong and then laying it over Kushida. Bivens says this is The Diamond Mine. Fans boo as The Diamond Mine stands together over KUSHIDA, staring down at him. NXT goes off the air.
