WWE RAW Results - May 3, 2021

WWE RAW Results – May 3, 2021 – After a short recap from last week, tonight’s WWE RAW episode begins with an earlier today backstage segment. Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville are with MVP and Porter says that Lashley could beat either Drew or Braun.  Porter checks the coin and Drew says there is no reason why Porter should worry about who Lashley faces.  Braun says he will beat Lashley tonight like he beat Drew last week. Braun and Drew argue and Adam wants to flip the coin.  Braun calls tails and the coin lands on tails.  Braun faces Lashley tonight.  Braun says he will win tonight.  Drew says he will send Braun to Claymore Country after your match. Porter says after Lashley puts Braun in the Hurt Lock, Braun won’t make it to Backlash.

— We’re live from the WWE ThunderDome at Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, as AJ Styles and Omos make their way to the ring.

AJ says for those of you too foolish not to tune into Wrestlemania Saturday, you would have seen us defeat the New Day to become the new Tag Team Champions.  AJ points out it was Omos’ first match.  AJ says that Omos wrecked them at Wrestlemania and he will do it again tonight.  Before they get their tag title match tonight, AJ has a question for the WWE Universe.  Did you miss us? Of course you missed us.  You are asking where did AJ and Omos go after they won at Wrestlemania.  AJ says they celebrated off the coast of Florida in the Caribbean.  They had better things to do than throw tomatoes like the New Day.  Officially, AJ Styles is a grand slam champion.

It only took me five years to do it.  New Day has been through a lot and he does not want to make them jealous.  They are here for one reason… The New Day interrupt and they make their way onto the stage.

Woods and Kofi speak from the stage and Kofi says he wasn’t sure if AJ and Omos even still worked here, but congratulations on some deserved time off. They continue mocking the champs for having no respect for the tag team division and taking time off. Woods and Kofi get serious as they start walking to the ring. Kofi says there’s a reason they’re 11-time tag team champions, and that is because every time they get knocked down, they pick themselves up, dust off and get back in the ring to win their gold back. Every single time. Kofi says AJ can take shots and jabs at their career if he wants, he goes on about also being a top singles champion because of The New Day’s influence. Kofi says taking time off is not how The New Day rolls, bro. Omos has heard enough. He’s heard enough of these morons and it seems like he didn’t knock enough sense into them at WrestleMania but they won’t be able to laugh or walk after he’s done with them tonight. Omos tells them to come to the ring and get this work. Woods interrupts and goes on about how they are about to become 12-time champions. The New Day music hits as fans chant for them as they enter the ring. We go to commercial with the two teams talking trash to each other.

We go to commercial.

Backstage:

Kayla Braxton is with MVP and Bobby Lashley. Porter interrupts Kayla and he says Braun’s luck ran out with the coin toss.  Porter says Braun couldn’t put together enough luck to win tonight.  Braun should be lucky to be in the ring with Lashley tonight, or unlucky.  It does not matter if it is Drew or Braun because neither can compare to Bobby Lashley.  They are two ferocious warriors who no normal man can control.  Bobby says he is no normal man.  They will pry this title out of his hands because he could lose this title without being pinned.  Bobby says he won’t let that happen. Porter says the Strowman Express will be derailed tonight by Bobby Lashley.

We are back and Sonya Deville and Charlotte Flair are in the ring.  Sonya says she has let Charlotte make a proposal.

Charlotte says she was a little taken back when she heard Asuka and Rhea were given another title match without her getting a chance.  She ended Asuka’s two year streak.  I put Rhea Ripley on the map when I beat her last year at Wrestlemania.  Do I have to remind you that Rhea took my spot at Wrestlemania.  I have made mistakes and learned the error of my ways.  I am happy to be reinstated.  You can’t say if I am added to Backlash, it won’t be a better pay per view.  They can take the division only so far.  I can take it farther.  I am the most important influencer of the women’s division.  I influence and they follow.  I say, they do.

Charlotte says she gave Sonya the opportunity to be an authority and you made the courageous decision to lift the suspension.  Love me or hate me, the division needs me.  The WWE Universe needs me.  She says she is happy to oblige and give me a match of my worth.  She tells Sonya to do the right thing and add her to the match at Backlash.  She tells Sonya to ‘Be Fair to Flair’.

Rhea Ripley’s music plays and she comes out and says that she has put up a lot coming out of this spoiled brat’s mouth, but this is pure crap.  There is a reason why Charlotte was not in the match at Wrestlemania.  That is the reason why nobody wants to see her in her rematch.  Rhea says nobody likes Charlotte.  Rhea says she can beat Asuka one on one because she already did.  A triple threat match?  You know how unfair that is.

Rhea says that she should have known that when Sonya brought back Charlotte that this would happen.

Asuka’s music plays and she makes her way to the ring.

Asuka says this is crap and she calls Charlotte a whiny baby.  She says she can beat Rhea because she is ready to become the Raw Women’s Champion.  Charlotte says that is why no one compares to her.  You get thrown one curve ball and you lose your minds.  Charlotte says Rhea is walking into Backlash with the title, but I will walk out as the champion.
