Preview For Tonight's WrestleMania Backlash Go-Home Episode of RAW

WWE RAW Results – May 10, 2021 – We begin with a look back at last week’s Raw main event between Braun Strowman and Bobby Lashley.

— We’re live from the WWE ThunderDome at Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, as Charlotte Flair makes his way to the ring for our first match of the night.

Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, and Shayna Baszler (with Reginald) vs. Asuka, Dana Brooke, and Mandy Rose

Mike Rome does the introductions as WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax come out next, with Reginald. Out first comes Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke for the other team. Asuka is out next, joining Rose and Brooke on the stage. They head to the ring together.

Nia and Mandy start things off and Nia misses a splash into the corner.  NIa with a splash on Mandy and Shayna tags in.  Shayna kicks Mandy while Charlotte holds her.  Shayna works on the wrist and puts Mandy in a hammer lock.  Shayna with a waist lock take down into a front face lock.  Mandy runs Shayna into the corner and Shayna kicks Dana on the apron but Asuka tags in and kicks Shayna.  Asuka with a wrist lock and Shayna blocks a German suplex attempt.  Asuka with a drop kick and Shayna goes to teh floor.  Mandy drop kicks Charlotte to the floor while Dana does the same to Nia.  Reginald flips off the apron for no reason at all.

Alexa Bliss appears on the stage in her swingset with Lily.  Alexa asks if they interrupted things.  Alexa says she is sorry, but Lily is not.  She says they wanted to come out and keep their eye on someone. She doesn’t say who. Bliss laughs and keeps swinging as the others look on from the ring. We go to commercial.

We are back and Charlotte kicks Mandy in the corner and Charlotte with a head scissors and she drives Mandy’s head into the mat.  Shayna tags in and she takes Mandy down with a top wrist lock take down for a near fall.  Nia tags in and she slams Mandy and gets a near fall.   Nia gets Mandy on her shoulders but Mandy gets to her feet and Dana tags in.  Dana with a forearm but Nia takes Dana down.  Shayna tags in and avoids a kick and hits a clothesline followed by a handspring elbow in the corner and a bulldog for a near fall.  Shayna with a back breaker.

Shayna’s knee gives out and Asuka tags in and knocks Nia off the apron and hits a Shining Wizard for the three count.

Winners:  Asuka, Dana Brooke, and Mandy Rose

After the match, Charlotte with a boot to Asuka. Alexa Bliss and Lily start laughing and everyone at ringside has no idea what to make of it.

— We take a look back at the Tomato Crew and their assault of Randy Orton and their inevitable loss to Randy Orton and Riddle.

Backstage:

Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are in the back and Riddle stops by and he says that R-K-Bro will be an official tag team by filling out their registration.  Riddle asks about their 8 man tag match.  They discuss what to hit Ryker, Elias, or Omos with.  Woods gestures to tell Riddle to turn around and Riddle reminds Randy about him getting hit with tomatoes last week.  Woods says he would have taken the shot for Randy.  Riddle says it was pretty funny. Orton tells Riddle if he thought that was funny, Orton says he finds ending careers funny.  Killing legends, and kicking people in the head, and setting things on fire.  He tells them that he will see them out there.

We go to commercial.

— We are back with a look at the night that Bobby Lashley helped Miz win the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber.

Backstage:

MVP walks in the back and stops at Braun Strowman’s door.  He knockes on the door and then enters. We see Braun talking to someone and then Braun tells Porter to get out of his locker room.  Porter says he wants to talk business with him.  Porter says that Drew beat him last week, not Lashley.  You almost beat him if it wasn’t for Drew.  Braun wants to know what does Porter want to talk about. Porter says if Lashley had to lose the title, he would rather lose it to Braun than Drew.  Drew has already had his chance while Braun didn’t.  If Drew was so injured and could not make it to Backlash, it would be a singles match.  Braun tells Porter he doesn’t like him and Porter says a lot of people feel that way.  Porter says it is just business and he leaves.

— We take a look back at last week’s match between John Morrison and Damian Priest.

Backstage:

Adam Pearce and Damian Priest are in the back and Miz and John Morrison enter.  Adam says that Damian Priest had a good idea.  Priest says he has a better idea about his match with Morrison tonight. Morrison says he would have won if not for Miz. Priest says if Morrison wins tonight, Morrison can pick the stipulation for the match on Sunday, but if Priest wins, he gets to choose the stipulation. Miz says he will not let someone else choose the stipulation for his match and Morrison accepts.

Backstage:

Jinder Mahal says nothing smells better than fresh competition.  He says he is happy to be back on Raw.  He says he has a couple of people with him.  He introduces everyone to Veer and Shanky.  Mahal says he will remind you why he is a former WWE Champion.

Mahal heads to the ring and he will face Jeff Hardy next. But first… We go to commercial.

Jinder Mahal vs. Jeff Hardy

Back from the break and out comes Jeff Hardy as Mahal, Veer and Shanky look on from the ring. Hardy hits the corner to pose as more pyro goes off. The match begins and Hardy unloads, taking it to the corner and hitting a dropkick. Jinder fights out and blocks a Jawbreaker, then levels Hardy with a big boot to the jaw. Hardy kicks out at 2. Jinder stomps away to keep Hardy down now.

Jinder beats Hardy around and drops a big knee. Hardy tries to fight back but Jinder keeps control. Jinder with a vertical suplex in the middle of the ring. Jinder with elbows and knees to keep Hardy down, grounding him in the middle of the ring now. Humberto Carrillo vs. WWE United States Champion Sheamus is confirmed for later. Hardy starts mounting offense and fighting Jinder off now.

Hardy ducks a clothesline and runs over Jinder. Jinder blocks the Atomic Drop and clubs Hardy, sending him into the corner. Jinder runs into a boot and Hardy nails the double axe handle. Fans cheer Hardy on but Jinder blocks a Twist of Fate and nails a jumping knee. Jinder follows up with The Khallas in the middle of the ring for the pin to win.

Winner:  Jinder Mahal

— Sonya Deville is backstage on the phone. She hangs up and in comes Charlotte Flair but we can’t hear what they’re saying.

Backstage:

Elias and Jaxson Ryker have more tomatoes.  What could go wrong? AJ Styles and Omos show up and want to know what is going on.  Elias says he wrong a song about them being a team.  AJ says no tomatoes and no song.  AJ says that Jaxson and Elias are with the tag team champions so they need to take this match seriously.  They toss Omos a tomato and he says this is what happens to their opponents and he squeezes the tomato.

Back to commercial.

R-K-Bro and The New Day vs. AJ Styles, Omos, Elias and Jaxson Ryker

Elias and Riddle start things off and Riddle with a cross arm breaker out of a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock.  Elias makes it to the ropes to force a break.  Ryker tags in and Riddle with a side head lock take down.  Ryker with a head scissors and Riddle escapes and he kicks Ryker.  Omos tags in and Riddle with punches but Omos grabs Riddle by the head and tosses him to the mat.  Riddle has a kick blocked and he is flipped to the mat.  Woods is knocked down by Omos and then Omos gives Kofi a head butt.  Orton goes to the floor because he is not stupid.  Omos sends Riddle to the mat.  Orton sticks his head in the ring and then goes to the floor as we go to commercial.

We are back and Elias with forearms to Riddle.  Elias with kicks in the corner and Ryker tags in.  Elias with a back elbow and Ryker with a chop to the chest for a near fall.  AJ tags in and Ryker with a belly-to-back suplex and Styles gets a near fall.  Riddle with punches and Styles goes for a suplex but Riddle gets to his feet and Kofi tags in.  Kofi with kicks and Woods with a sliding flatliner for a near fall.  Kofi makes the blind tag and Kofi with a shoulder followed by a springboard cross body.  Kofi with a back breaker and Woods goes up and hits a missile drop kick on Elias.  Styles with a spinebuster to Woods.  Ryker tags in and he gets a near fall.  Ryker sends Woods into the turnbuckles and Ryker with kicks.

Ryker sends Woods into the turnbuckles and Elias tags in and Ryker with a splash and Elias with a spinebuster for a near fall.  Elias with a knee to the back and he chops Woods in the corner.  Woods with punches and chops to get out of the corner but Elias with a spinebuster for a near fall.  Ryker tags in and kicks Woods.  Ryker with a camel clutch.  Woods with a jaw breaker but Ryker grabs Woods to keep him from making the tag.  Ryker with a spinebuster for a near fall.  

Elias tags in and hits a twisting suplex for a near fall.  Elias with a knee but Woods with a sunset flip for a near fall.  Riddle tags in and connects with a knee.  Riddle with an exploder to Ryker followed by a splash to Elias in the corner.  Elias with elbows but Riddle with an Irsih whip and he catches Elias on a float over for Bro Derek and Omos tags in.  Orton tags in but Omos with a punch to Riddle off the turnbuckles.  Woods with a drop kick through the ropes and then Styles is spun around by Kofi and Woods.  Orton with an RKO on Elias for the three count.

Winners:  Randy Orton, Riddle, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods

After the match, Orton gives Woods an RKO.  Orton gives an RKO to Kofi.  Riddle asks Orton why did he do it and then Orton leaves the ring.  

Backstage:

Sonya Deville is in Adam Pearce’s office and Rhea Ripley and Asuka show up.  Sonya says this will be resolved peacefully.  Sonya says she was given an idea and she liked it.  They can resolve their issues and go one on one. Rhea wants to know whose idea this was.  Sonya says she won’t say.  Rhea asks if it was Charlotte’s idea.  She says she is not going to rip Asuka apart before their match on Sunday. Asuka says she is ready for Rhea and even though she already wrestled tonight, she will face her.  

— Sheamus makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back with Bobby Lashley and MVP.  Kevin Patrick ambushes them and wants to know what to expect from Lashley’s match tonight. Porter tells Kevin it is rude to enter their dressing room without knocking.  Porter says Lashley will beat Drew tonight.   Kevin asks about the match on Sunday.  Lashley says he pinned Braun last week and he will beat Drew tonight… again. Kevin asks if there is some sort of deal with Braun Strowman.  Porter says they don’t comment on business negotiations.  He says they are ongoing.

In the Arena:

Sheamus has something to say before his match.  He says he showed why he is the baddest man on the planet after taking care of Mansoor and Humberto.  Sheamus says Adam Pearce told him about the legacy of the United States title and that I should do an Open Challenge every week.  Sheamus says why would he want to walk in the footsteps of the has beens when he can forge a legacy of his own.  Sheamus says they would give a title match to everyone, even Virk who is out of his element on commentary.  Sheamus says if Berty and Mansoor think they are getting a hand on his gold, they have another thing coming.  

Humberto is going to try to earn a title match and his respect, but all Humberto is going to be is meme of the week and get a Brogue Kick to the side of his head.

Sheamus vs. Humberto Carrillo in a Non Title Match

The bell rings and they go at it. Carrillo takes Sheamus down but Sheamus levels him with a shoulder. Sheamus blocks a hip toss and clubs Carrillo to the mat. Carrillo mounts some offense now and sends Sheamus out. He then dropkicks Sheamus to the floor and goes to fly but Sheamus meets him and decks him in mid-air. Sheamus launches Carrillo over into the timekeeper’s area as we go back to commercial.

Back from the break and Sheamus has Carrillo grounded in the middle of the ring. Carrillo fights up and out, building some momentum but Sheamus drops him. Sheamus takes it to the apron and delivers 10 Beats of The Bodhrán. Sheamus does the Dublin Smile with Carrillo now as fans boo.

Carrillo fights up and out, rocking Sheamus with a jawbreaker. Sheamus runs into a boot. Sheamus with an Alabama Slam in the middle of the ring for a close 2 count. Sheamus scoops Carrillo and takes him to the second rope for a super White Noise but Carrillo fights out. Carrillo delivers a big hurricanrana, launching Sheamus to the mat. They go on and Carrillo ends up hitting a Sunset Bomb from the apron to the floor. The referee counts and then has to go out and check on Carrillo. Sheamus is also barely able to get up.

The referee calls the match as Carrillo and Sheamus are both unable to recover from the powerbomb spot.

No Contest (referee’s decision)

After the bell, Sheamus has his arm raised as he retains his United States Title. Sheamus’ music starts up as he falls back down and tries to recover. Officials check on Carrillo now.

— We have a video package for the Lucha House Party.  They say that you know their names and their masks.  Dorado says they have inspired their fans to make an impression wherever we go.  Metalik says they have been knocked down but they get back up.  They say that they are always ready for a fight.

— We see what happened between Cedric Alexander and SHelton Benjamin last week. Alexander makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.

— We are back with the latest from Eva Marie.  She says she has been thinking about where she has been and where she is going.  She says she has been the one in control of her life.  Part of that is giving back.  She says she wants to be someone who you can look up to.  She is back where she started.

Cedric Alexander vs. Shelton Benjamin

Alexander has words for Benjamin and then Alexander with a waist lock.  Alexander pie faces Shelton and hits a drop kick.  Alexander kicks and punches Shelton.  Alexander avoids Shelton and goes to the floor.  Shelton follows Cedric to the floor but Alexander returns to the ring and hits a dragon screw leg whip in the ropes.  Alexander kicks the hamstring and works on the leg.  Alexander kicks Shelton in the leg and applies a heel hook.  Shelton gets to his feet and he applies a Sharpshooter but Cedric gets to the ropes.

Shelton punches Alexander but Alexander with a drop kick to the knee.  Alexander sends Shelton into the ringside barrier.  Benjamin with a jumping knee but misses Paydirt.  Alexander with a Neuralizer.  Alexander kicks Shelton but Shelton with an exploder for the three count.

Winner:  Shelton Benjamin

— We take a look back at Drew Gulak and Angel Garza’s match from last week and the post match gardening.

Backstage:

We see Garza doing a backstage photo shoot now. Gulak interrupts and asks if this is all one big joke, if Garza has respect for their profession or if he’s just busy with his photo shoots and trying out for the next season of The Bachelor, as if anyone would accept a flower from him anyway. Gulak says what Garza did last week has never been done in WWE, he embarrassed and humiliated Gulak. Garza threatens to do it again but Gulak says there won’t be a next time. Garza says maybe next time he will shove the rose down Gulak’s throat. Gulak walks off as Gulak stares him down.

— Asuka makes her way to the ring as we go to commercial.

Asuka vs. Rhea Ripley

They lock up and Rhea with a forearm across the bridge of the nose before giving a break.  Rhea goes into the ropes after avoiding a back fist.  Rhea blocks a back fist and Rhea tells Asuka to take a shot at her face.  Asuka with a leg sweep and drop kick.  Asuka tosses Rhea across the ring by the hair.  Rhea with a knee and she tosses Asuka across the ring by the hair.  Asuka misses a kick and Rhea misses a punch.  Asuka with a kick but Rhea blocks a drop toe hold into the turnbuckles.  Rhea with boots to Asuka.  Asuka with a take down into a cross arm breaker but Rhea gets to the ropes to force a break.  Rhea goes to the floor.  Asuka goes to the floor and Rhea goes back into the ring.  Asuka avoids a stomp by Rhea.  Asuka misses a hip attack on the edge of the apron and Rhea with a drop kick through the ropes.

Rhea goes to the floor and sends Asuka into the apron.

Charlotte Flair’s music so that means everything stops until Charlotte is doing on her way to the ring.

Asuka with a back fist that knocks Rhea down on the apron. We go to commercial.

We are back and we see Charlotte at the announce table.  We return to the action and Rhea with a forearm.  Rhea with shoulders in the corner.  Rhea chokes Asuka in the ropes.  Rhea with kicks to the back.  Rhea stands on Asuka’s back and she kicks Asuka.  Rhea with a head butt to Asuka.  Rhea misses a kick and Asuka goes for a take down into a cross arm breaker but Rhea escapes.  Rhea kicks Asuka to the floor and sends Asuka into the apron.  Asuka with a back heel kick and a sliding knee on the apron.  They return to the ring.

Asuka gets a near fall.  Rhea sends Asuka to the floor and Asuka sees Charlotte at the announce table.  Rhea with a head butt to Asuka and Rhea sends Asuka back into the ring.  Rhea with a suplex for a near fall.  Asuka counters Riptide with a Codebreaker for a near fall.  

Rhea goes to the floor and Asuka hits Rhea with a hip attack off the announce table.  Asuka with a missile drop kick for a near fall.  Asuka with an elbow but Rhea with Riptide for the three count.

WInner:  Rhea Ripley

— We have a video package for the other Triple Threat Match for the Raw brand at Backlash.

Backstage:

Kevin Patrick is with Drew McIntyre in the back.  Drew is asked about his actions from last week.  Drew says he did not plan to get involved until Braun got his hands on him.  Drew says they both got laid out with Claymores.  Drew says he heard about the deal with MVP and Braun but he has to deal with it if it happens.  Drew says he will hit Lashley with a Claymore tonight and then on Sunday he will be WWE Champion.

We go to commercial.

John Morrison vs. Damian Priest
Winner Gets to Choose the Stipulation for the Miz versus Priest Match at Backlash

We go back to the ring and out comes John Morrison with The Miz. If Morrison wins this match, he gets to pick the WrestleMania Backlash stipulation for Miz vs. Damian Priest. If Priest wins tonight, he gets to pick the stipulation. Miz and Morrison hit the ring and pose as we go back to commercial.

Back from the break and out comes Priest as The Miz and Morrison look on. Priest fires his imaginary arrow to set the pyro off, then he heads to the ring. The bell rings and here we go. Priest unloads in the corner and stomps away after Morrison goes down. Priest keeps control and nails a sidewalk slam for a close 2 count.

Priest grounds Morrison by his arm now as Miz rants at the referee from ringside, accusing Priest of cheating. Morrison turns it around on the mat with strikes. Priest resists but Morrison rocks him with a knee strike to the mouth for a close 2 count. Morrison grounds Priest now as Miz runs his mouth at ringside. More back and forth into the corner now. Priest turns it around and rocks Morrison with strikes. Priest leaps and misses in the corner. Morrison ends up kicking Priest in the nose from the apron. Morrison springboards up but Priest catches him. Morrison lands hard as they tangle some more until Priest rocks him in mid-air for a 2 count due to Morrison getting the bottom rope.

Morrison re-groups with Miz at ringside now as the referee counts. Priest comes out and has words with Miz after rolling Morrison back in. Miz gets ready to fight with Priest at ringside as we go back to commercial.

Back from the break and Priest levels Morrison with a spin kick for a 2 count. Miz gets involved and Priest ends up dropped at ringside by a running boot while Morrison distracts the referee. Morrison follows and brings Priest back in. They tangle and Morrison drops Priest with a modified leg sweep for a 2 count. Morrison grounds Priest with a neck hold now as Miz taunts Priest from ringside. Fans try to rally for Priest. Priest powers up and breaks the hold, then hits the Bell Clap on Morrison. Priest drops Morrison with a big kick.

Priest with huge kicks to Morrison now, then a right hand to send him into the corner. Priest flies and decks Morrison in the corner, then hits a Broken Arrow for a close 2 count. Priest goes to the top but Morrison rocks him a few times. Morrison climbs up but Priest resists. Priest sends Morrison to the mat. Priest with a big spin kick from the top to Morrison on the mat. Morrison still kicks out at 2. Priest waits for Morrison to get up now.

Morrison counters and rolls Priest for 2. Priest blocks the sliding knee with a kick. Priest goes for Hit The Lights but Miz ends up distracting the referee from the apron, which messes up Morrison’s chance to win. Priest levels Morrison and then delivers Hit The Lights for the pin to win.

Winner: Damian Priest

After the match, Miz immediately hits the ring and unloads on Priest. Priest blocks the Skull Crushing Finale and goes for a kick but Miz retreats to the stage as fans boo, leaving Morrison down in the ring. Priest grabs Morrison and delivers another Hit The Lights as Miz looks on from the stage. Priest stands tall and stares up at Miz as his music plays. Priest has earned the right to pick the stipulation for his match with The Miz on Sunday.

— We see Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley preparing for their match in the back as we go to commercial, but first Braun Strowman stops by to stare at Bobby Lashley. Back to commercial.

— We are back with another Eva Marie video package.  She is in a photo shoot.  She says that some think she is a supermodel but she thinks she is a super role model.  Life is not picture perfect, but everything is possible.

–Adam Pearce is in his office and Damian Priest enters and Damian says he knows what he wants as a stipulation.  A lumberjack match.  Adam asks why.  Priest says that Miz always tries to run away.  Miz will have nowhere to run. Back to commercial.

Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Lashley

We go back to the ring and Lashley waits with MVP as Drew McIntyre makes his way out for the main event. Drew and Lashley stare each other down in the middle of the ring as Lashley raises the title. Drew hits the corner to pose for a pop as more pyro goes off around the arena.

The bell rings and Drew charges but Lashley immediately goes for The Hurt Lock. Drew resists and goes down but kicks out of a quick pin attempt. Lashley grounds Drew with a headlock now as MVP barks from ringside. Drew dumps Lashley to the apron but Lashley hangs on. Lashley drops Drew’s neck over the top rope. He comes back in and nails a running thrust in the corner, then a neckbreaker.

Lashley works Drew over as we see Braun Strowman watching the match backstage. The referee counts as Lashley keeps control in the corner. Lashley unloads with elbow strikes in the corner now. Drew turns it right around and unloads with stiff strikes in the corner. Lashley fights back and beats Drew down with strikes to the head. Drew levels Lashley with a big boot. Drew follows Lashley to the floor but gets kicked. Drew grabs Lashley and launches him at ringside, forcing a hard landing on the floor. We go to commercial with Drew in control.

Back from the break and Lashley is trying to fight out of a corner but Drew chops him. Lashley whips him across the ring but runs into an elbow. Lashley drops Drew and then sends him face-first into the mat for a close 2 count. Lashley mounts Drew with strikes now, then applies a headlock. Drew fights up and out. Lashley ducks a clothesline and goes for a suplex but it’s blocked. Drew with a long vertical suplex of his own in the middle of the ring. MVP continues to yell from ringside.

Drew runs into big boots in the corner and he goes down. Lashley manhandles Drew in the corner while he’s down as the referee warns him. Lashley charges and knocks Drew from the apron to the floor now as fans boo. Lashley continues beating Drew up at ringside as the referee counts. Lashley returns to the ring but Drew follows at the 4 count. Lashley drops Drew over the top rope and stuns him. Lashley brings Drew back to the floor and runs him into the ring post. MVP and Lashley celebrate after Drew goes back down and fans boo.

Lashley brings Drew back into the ring, and waits in the corner. Lashley charges but Drew side-steps and launches him into the turnbuckles. They trade big strikes getting to their feet now. Drew catches Lashley with a big overhead throw, and another. Drew goes on and nails a neckbreaker, then hits a kip up as fans cheer him on. Lashley blocks the Futureshock DDT. Drew stuns Lashley with a Glasgow Kiss. Drew goes on and hits a big Spinebuster in the middle of the ring but Lashley kicks out at 2. MVP is losing his mind at ringside now.

Drew charges but Lashley counters with a crossbody block in the middle of the ring. Lashley applies The Hurt Lock now but Drew resists. Lashley with knee strikes to the gut now, then a suplex. Drew comes right back with a big Claymore Kick. The music interrupts and out comes Braun Strowman. Drew looks at the stage for Braun’s entrance but Braun attacks from behind in the ring instead. The referee calls the match for the disqualification.

Winner by DQ: Drew McIntyre

After the bell, Braun delivers the running powerslam to Drew. Braun helps Lashley up in the corner now. Lashley is all smiles as fans boo. Lashley hugs Braun but Braun scoops him and delivers the running powerslam for a big pop. MVP seethes at ringside as fans cheer Braun on. Braun delivers a second powerslam to Drew. Lashley stumbles to the floor near MVP now, right in front of the announce table. Braun follows and blocks a cane shot from MVP. Braun says instead of dropping MVP, he’s going to make MVP watch him take Lashley out. Braun scoops Lashley and drives him through the barrier with a big powerslam. Braun comes back in the ring and yells in Drew’s face. Braun delivers a third running powerslam to Drew in the middle of the ring. Braun stands tall and yells out as he rips his shirt off now. Braun’s music starts up as we see MVP tending to Lashley at ringside in the debris of the barrier. The final RAW before WrestleMania Backlash goes off the air with Strowman standing tall over McIntyre in the ring.
