WWE Changes Directive About Talent Tryouts

WWE Changes Directive About Talent Tryouts

WWE recently held a talent tryout for male wrestlers that had some notable names in attendance such as wrestlers who have worked on the AEW Dark program.

Those names included John Skyler, Jake Logan, Tyson Maddux, Ray Jaz, Brady Pierce, Will Allday, David Ali, Ariel Levy, Eric James and Jason Cade. However, WWE has made the decision to try to sign bigger and younger wrestlers again.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that “ when it comes to trying out talent, the directive from above has changed, wanting younger and bigger guys again.”

Meltzer pointed out how there will always be exceptions to this if a certain wrestler stands out. WWE changed this directive years ago when Ring of Honor caught fire as they had great workers who were smaller.

It’s no secret that Vince McMahon tends to like bigger wrestlers and usually when business is down, he’ll resort back to this mindset.
