Six More NXT Talent Released – Following the news of WWE firing NXT referee Drake Wuertz, six more NXT departure have been revealed.
Referee Jake Clemons, Alexander Wolfe, Skyler Story, Ezra Judge, Jessamyn Duke and Vanessa Bourne are no longer with WWE.
On Tuesday’s NXT episode, Killian Dain defeated Wolfe in a quick squash match. After the bout, Marcel Barthel and Fabian Aichner attacked Wolfe, which signaled that he had been kicked out of the Imperium group.
Wolfe signed with WWE in 2015 and was paired in the Sanity group alongside Eric Young, Dain, and Nikki Cross. During the 2018 WWE Superstar Shake-up, the group except for Cross was called up to the main roster. Wolfe was later moved to NXT UK and paired with Imperium, which is led by NXT UK Champion Walter.
Story, formerly Ava Storie, worked for EVOLVE before joining WWE. Judge, real name Ezekwesiri “EJ” Nduka Jr., was signed in August 2019 after being an arena football player and professional bodybuilder for the IFBB.
Duke, who was an MMA fighter and held a pro record of 3-5-1, signed with WWE in 2018. She is part of the MMA Four Horsewomen group alongside good friends Ronda Rousey, Shayna Baszler, and Marina Shafir.
Her last match in NXT came back in December 2019 where she lost a six-woman tag team match at a live event. She was last used on TV during the August 31, 2020 edition of Raw to work a Raw Underground segment.
Bourne signed with WWE back in 2016 and worked in NXT. In January 2020, it was reported WWE had plans to call her up to the main roster, but those plans were nixed.
WWE released several main roster stars last month. Unlike what they did in April 2020 because of what WWE cited as budget cuts due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year WWE didn’t announce the releases of NXT talent and personnel at the same time as the main roster cuts.
We will pass along the other names who depart from the company when that news comes out.
