Rik Boogz Debuts - Helps Shinsuke Nakamura

Rik Boogz Debuts – On tonight’s Smackdown, King Corbin was determined to get his crown back from Shinsuke Nakamura. Instead, the WWE Universe was introduced to Rik Boogz, who helped Nakamura score a surprising win thanks to some sweet guitar skills.

Corbin made his way down to the ring on SmackDown to address how Nakamura stole his crown last week. After he called out Nakamura, Bugez made his debut on the blue brand by coming to the stage with a guitar. He declared that he wanted to rock with Nakamura before he played Nakamura’s theme on his guitar. At the same time, “The King of Strong Style” came down to the ring to face Corbin.

During the match itself, both superstars were locked in a back-and-forth before Corbin gained some momentum late in the contest. But Boogz once again played Nakamura’s theme to distract Corbin and allow Nakamura to roll him up for the victory.

t looks like WWE has changed the way they are spelling the Boogz name. It was previously spelled “Bugez” but tonight he noted in his promo that “Boogz” is now the correct spelling.

Boogz was seen on WWE TV earlier this year as he played the role of Old Spice representative Joseph Average in the vignettes for Old Spice’s WrestleMania 37 sponsorship. Boogz, as Average, captured the WWE 24/7 Title twice in those vignettes.

Boogz is a former powerlifter and bodybuilder who was signed in the fall of 2017. Despite just a few appearances in NXT, he has picked up a following due to his charisma and social media presence. It’s also been reported that WWE officials have been impressed with Boogz since early on in his career, and had high hopes for his future with the company. He last wrestled on the March 7, 2020 NXT live event, defeating Tino Sabbatelli.

There’s no word on what WWE has planned for Nakamura and Boogz after tonight’s angle, but we will keep you updated. Below are several photos and videos from tonight’s appearance:
