As WWE gets ready to return to live events, the company is lining up some big names to welcome the fans back.
Edge is advertised for the July 16th episode of Friday Night SmackDown and John Cena is also advertised for that show, reportedly to begin the setup for his big match at SummerSlam. Click here for more details on WWE’s big plans for SummerSlam.
Paul Heyman spoke with SportsTalk 790 in Houston and he was asked about Brock Lesnar making a return. Lesnar hasn’t been seen on WWE television since losing the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36.
Heyman said the following about Lesnar:
“Asking me about Brock Lesnar is a highly intelligent question and I commend you on your efforts. However, it’s a hypothetical. Brock Lesnar does what Brock Lesnar wants to do. If Brock Lesnar wanted to be back in WWE at this moment, at this particular time and place, he would be. Maybe, maybe he has been waiting for the live events, and maybe he’ll choose Houston to make that return… or maybe not, because Brock Lesnar is going to do whatever Brock Lesnar wants to do.”
Andrew Zarian reported on the Mat Men Podcast that WWE also has big plans for Survivor Series and that show could be bigger than SummerSlam so it’s not a lock that Lesnar will be back for SummerSlam, especially if the plan is for Cena to wrestle on that show.
WWE could always hold off Lesnar’s return for Survivor Series.
