Impact Wrestling Results – May 20, 2021 – The beginning of the show pays homage to New Jack. D’Lo Brown and Matt Striker welcome fans to Impact Wrestling! We kick things off with some singles action!

Rohit Raju (w/Shera) vs. Jake Something

Jake Something decks Rohit Raju with a massive forearm after Raju charges towards him. Shera stands in front of Jake. Raju uses this moment as a distraction to return a flurry of strikes. Back in the ring, Jake eats a boot but turns it around with a nice pounce. Jake smashes Raju’s face on top of the apron three times. Shera gets involved and lands a cheap shot while the referee’s back is turned.

Back in the ring, Raju lands a spinning low kick for a two count. Raju keeps Jake cornered with two big chops. Raju lands a drop for another near-fall. Raju keeps on top of Jake with a buzzsaw kick for another near-fall. Raju focuses on Something’s left arm and bends and twists it in all different directions. Something clubs Raju in the back. Something sends Raju off his feet with double axes. Raju avoids Jake’s first spear but eats the second one in the opposite corner. Something looks for a pin. Raju kicks out.

Raju creates speed and power with a jumping knee. Something catches Raju. Raju turns it around with a pin. Something kicks out. Raju traps Something with a crossface. Jake breaks free with clubbing forearms to the chest. Shera breaks up a vertical suplex. Something topples down to the mat. Raju floats over for the pin. Raju wins the match.

Winner: Rohit Raju

Post-Match: Jake Something goes after Shera. Rohit Raju retreats up towards the stage and doesn’t help his friend out. Something hits Shera with a chair, and then Something spears Shera right into a table! Message sent. Message received.

– D’Lo Brown and Matt Striker run through what’s to come on tonight’s show.

Backstage: Taylor Wilde informs Gia Miller the reason she came back to Impact was that she wants to become the next Knockouts Champion – not to be Tenille Dashwood’s tag team partner. Dashwood and Kaleb eavesdrop on Wilde’s conversation. Dashwood wants Wilde to go after the Knockouts Tag Team Championships with her. Wilde doesn’t want to do that.

Backstage: Gia Miller gets a quick word from Rachael Ellering and Jordynne Grace, who lost their Knockouts Tag Team Championship to Fire ‘N Flava on Saturday. Grace wants a match tonight.

Speaking of the Knockouts Tag Team Champions, Kiera Hogan is in action next!

Kiera Hogan (w/Tasha Steelz) vs. Tenille Dashwood (w/Kaleb)

Both women lock up with a collar and elbow tie-up. Kiera Hogan smashes Tenille Dashwood face-first on top of the turnbuckle. Dashwood escapes out of the corner with a pin. Hogan kicks out. Dashwood hangs Hogan up in the ropes with a stunning tarantula! Dashwood follows that with a neckbreaker. She looks for another cover. Hogan kicks out. Dashwood returns the favor from earlier by smashing Hogan’s face into the turnbuckle. Hogan lands a nasty superkick just before the commercial break.

Back from the break, Hogan is still on top of Dashwood. She charges towards Dashwood with a basement dropkick in the corner. Hogan hooks the leg for a two count. Hogan traps Dashwood in the corner with a foot chokehold. Hogan drags Dashwood towards the center of the ring with a facelock. Dashwood reverses Hogan’s pin with a small package. Hogan pops free. Dashwood counters Hogan’s superkick with a big lariat. Dashwood stacks Hogan up and gains the pinfall victory.

Winner: Tenille Dashwood

Post-Match: Tasha Steelz slides in and puts her hands on Tenille Dashwood. Kaleb runs in to help Tenille out. The Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo, Kimber Lee and Susan come out and join in on the beatdown towards Tenille. Taylor Wilde and Havok run out and clean house on Dashwood’s behalf. Then, Decay comes out and meets Purrazzo, Lee, Hogan, Steelz and Lee up near the ramp. All five women scatter in different directions.

Backstage: Jordynne Grace informs Rachael Ellering they have a match tonight. But it’s against each other.

– Next week, NJPW legend Satoshi Kojima will arrive at the Impact Zone!

Backstage: FinJuice promise they will retain their Impact World Tag Team Championship tonight against Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. If they retain tonight, they promise to defend their titles in Japan, where they’ll head back to after tonight’s match.

VSK vs. Petey Williams

Petey Williams escapes out of a collar and elbow tie-up and applies a waistlock on VSK. VSK backs Williams up towards the corner. Williams takes VSK for a ride with a tilt-a-whirl head scissors. Off the ropes, Williams hits a hurricanrana and a jump shot drop. Williams soars out of the ring and on top of VSK! VSK turns it around with jumping DDT. He continues the onslaught with several shots and single knee drops. VSK lands a slam/splash combination for just a near-fall!

Williams eats a boot in the corner. VSK rolls Williams through with a snapmare. Cover. Williams pops free. VSK hits a perfect European uppercut in the corner. Williams counters with a snap German suplex. VSK comes in with a half-and-half. Williams plants a leg sweep then turns it into a crucifix pin. VSK kicks out. Williams comes through with a sunset flip reversal, followed by a snap powerbomb. Williams nails a perfect Canadian Destroyer for the pinfall victory!

Winner: Petey Williams

Backstage: Rich Swann admits his match with Kenny Omega at Rebellion last month was hard-hitting. While recovering at home, he’s kept his eyes on W. Morrissey. The former champion doesn’t think Morrissey should walk into Impact with a chip on his shoulder. Midway through his statement, Morrissey knocks Swann in the head with a huge kick.

At Swinger’s Palace: TJP cannot believe Fallah Bahh has become one of Swinger’s Swingerellas. TJP helps pay off Bahh’s debts so he doesn’t have to humiliate himself anymore.

Up next, the new No. 1 Contender to Kenny Omega’s Unified Impact World Championship, Moose, has something important to say.

Moose begins his in-ring promo by praising the challengers that Omega has prevailed over. But Moose mentions Omega has never met a man like him. He admits he respects Omega for calling himself “The God of Pro Wrestling,” but Moose sees himself as “A God.” He guarantees no one will knock him off his empire. That’s when Omega’s music hits.

Don Callis speaks on Omega’s behalf and recites everything Moose just said. Callis admits Moose might just be the most physically talented person in the industry. But Callis doesn’t see Moose being the man to dethrone Omega. Callis pokes fun of Moose’s shortcomings in Ring of Honor and his lack of Super Bowl victories in football. Callis says Moose will always come up short.

Moose says if he hears one more word out of Callis, he is going to rip his throat out. Omega takes the microphone and says all it takes is One-Winged Angel to take him out. Moose wants Omega to put his money where his mouth is and show him. Just in time, Doc Gallows and Karl Andreson make their way down to the ring. The place goes dark. The lights turn on. It’s Sami Callihan! He throws everyone in and out of the ring with wild baseball swings. Callihan and Moose are the last two men standing. They stare each other down just before the commercial break.

Backstage: Moose hopes Sami Callihan doesn’t expect a thank you for helping him. Callihan says he wasn’t down there for Moose – he’s there to take back what is rightfully his: the Impact World Championship.

Jordynne Grace vs. Rachael Ellering

Jordynne Grace is the first with leverage in this match with a side headlock takedown on Rachael Ellering. She pushes Ellering’s shoulders back. Cover. Ellering kicks out. Ellering turns her lock up into a body scissors. Both women exchange lockups. Grace rolls out of a wristlock. Grace then backs Ellering towards the corner after being tied up in a hammerlock. Grace and Ellering continue trading holds just before the commercial break.

Back from the break, Jordynne is laying shots on Ellering in the corner by slamming her in another corner for a near-fall count. Jordynne rams herself into Ellering for another attempted pin. Jordynne looks for two more pins, and Ellering pops free every time. Jordynne gets a Full Nelson semi-locked in. Will that be enough? No. Ellering kicks out of a double-leg hook.

Ellering finds her step with a jumping European cut in the center of the ring, followed by a senton at two! Ellering eats a boot. Jordynne hits her double knees to the back and a hard elbow. Ellering avoids a Vader Bomb. Ellering turns it into a pin. Jordynne kicks out. Both women trade stack pins. Ellering gets the better half of the day by driving Jordynne’s shoulders into the mat for the pinfall victory.

Winner: Rachael Ellering

Post-Match: Rachael Ellering puts her hand out, and Jordynne Grace shakes it and hugs her before retreating to the back.

Backstage: Brian Myers attacks Matt Cardona as he heads out of a room.

And now, the main event! Can FinJuice retain their championships tonight and safely take them back to Japan?

Impact World Tag Team Championship: FinJuice (Juice Robinson & David Finlay) (c) vs. Ace Austin & Madman Fulton

Ace Austin and David Finlay dance around the ring. Austin psyches Finlay out by tagging in Madman Fulton. Fulton tosses Finlay towards the corner. Fulton manhandles Finlay again and throws the champion towards his corner. Juice Robinson makes his tag in. No matter how he cuts it, Robinson continues to hit a brick wall with Fulton. A tag is made to Finlay. Finlay comes charging down with a double axe handle. FinJuice join forces with a double running bulldog for a near-fall attempt on Fulton.

Fulton throws Finlay over towards his corner. Finlay sends Austin crashing down with a perfect enziguri. Robinson is back in. FinJuice hit double elbows on the former X-Division Champion. Robinson connects a jumping senton! Fulton runs in and gets stacked with a flapjack. Fulton falls towards the outside just before the commercial break.

Back from the commercial break, Austin is driving his knee into Robinson. Austin slams a couple of elbows towards Robinson’s shoulder blade and slices the champion’s fingers with his playing card. Austin continues to cut the ring off. Robinson rolls Austin through and lands a Left Hand of God to break free. Austin knocks Finlay off the apron. Robinson rocks Austin with a backdrop.

Fulton makes his way in. Fulton gets sent to the outside. Finlay gets tagged in. Finlay slingshots over the top rope and makes sure Fulton stays down. Finlay decks Austin with a European uppercut. Finlay hits a nice backbreaker for a two count. Fulton makes the save on Austin. Robinson hits several jabs on Fulton. Austin picks up where he last left off with a clothesline in the corner.

Fulton was just seconds away from becoming the new tag team champion after Austin soared off from the top. Fulton just couldn’t keep Robinson down. Fulton and Austin come together with a chokeslam/fold combination! Cover. Finlay runs in and breaks it up. Finlay avoids receiving the same move as his partner. Finlay sends Austin crashing from off the top with a superplex! Robinson hits a cannonball in the corner. FinJuice land an elbow drop/backbreaker combination. FinJuice misses the Doomsday Device, but Finlay hits a stunner, and Robinson plants his Pulp Friction finisher. 1-2-3. FinJuice retain their championships!

Winners: FinJuice

Post-Match: Violence By Design want a little piece of the tag team champions. All four men circle around the ring. Eric Young takes out the Call Your Shot Trophy and says Rhino and Joe Doering want to call their shot.

FinJuice (c) vs. Rhino & Joe Doering

FinJuice accepts the call. Joe Doering rocks FinJuice with a double crossbody. Doering sends Robinson crashing towards the mat and picks up the pinfall victory.
