Young Bucks Reveal How Much Money WWE Really Offered Them

WWE offered The Young Bucks contracts in 2019 while they were considering all options. They ended up taking a chance on AEW, but that was not an easy decision to make considering the money WWE was offering them.

During the Talk n Shop podcast, Matt Jackson revealed that WWE was offering them half a million dollars each to sign with them. That was guaranteed money, but they turned it down.

“I knew the kind of money The Good Brothers were getting. Everyone else was getting like $150,000 to start. He was already offering us $500,000 each guaranteed. I’m going like, ‘what!’ At that moment, we knew our street value. That was just the first offer.”

The Young Bucks did turn down WWE’s offer, even though there was a 10-month escape clause attached it they wanted out. Odds are that ten months would have been enough time to keep Nick and Matt Jackson out of AEW or, at least, slow down the new company’s beginning.
