Kurt Angle has made it clear that he has no plans to join All Elite Wrestling, but he is working on something with WWE that he thinks will materialize.
The WWE Hall of Famer was furloughed by WWE due to budget cuts related to the COVID-19 pandemic last year. He was offered a role to be Matt Riddle’s manager when he was first called up to SmackDown, but Angle turned down the offer.
During a recent interview with Hannibal TV, Angle dropped the teaser.
“Well, my relationship with WWE is really good and I like to keep it that way. I don’t have any plans of going to AEW. I haven’t really spoken to them that much. Just a couple of messages sent back and forth, but nothing serious.
I have something going on with WWE right now and it most likely will materialize. I can’t talk about it, but that’s what I’m waiting on and I don’t wanna mess that up. You know the company’s been so good to me and I wanna be loyal to them.”
There’s no word yet on what this could be, but it’s unlikely to see him wrestle again as he made the decision to retire. He’s also busy with his podcast and supplement company.
