Two Big Matches Announced For Next Week’s SmackDown

Edge will make his return to the SmackDown ring during next Friday’s episode on FOX.

Edge will wrestle Jey Uso on next week’s SmackDown. It was announced during tonight’s WWE Fastlane contract signing (see below) for Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns that Edge vs. Uso will take place next week with the winner being named the Special Enforcer for Bryan vs. Reigns.

Things started with Bryan and Reigns in the ring, and Bryan quickly began antagonizing Reigns, telling him that if he didn’t want to sign the contract, it would say a lot about him. After signing his name quickly, Bryan then said that he was able to do what Reigns couldn’t, and make Jey Uso quit in their match last week. This got Reigns’ attention, and he very quickly – and angrily – signed his name on the contract, solidifying the match. However, Jey Uso was angered by the entire back and forth, and threw the table out of the ring before demanding that he be made a special enforcer for the match to make sure things are on the up and up.

It was then that Edge made his way out to the ring, asking Adam Pearce to give him a match against Jey Uso on next week’s SmackDown to determine who the Special Enforcer actually will be. After it was decided, things turned to chaos in the ring, as Edge and Reigns began to brawl while Bryan and Uso also fought to close out the show.

Edge has not wrestled a SmackDown TV match since his win over Drew McIntyre on the March 25, 2011 edition of SmackDown.

Next week’s SmackDown will also see Sasha Banks defend her SmackDown Women’s Title. She will face WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Nia Jax.

Jax will challenge Banks just two days before Banks and Bianca Belair challenge Jax and Shayna Baszler for their WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles at Fastlane. Jax noted during tonight’s SmackDown that she is challenging Banks so she can go into Fastlane with two belts.

Stay tuned for more on next week’s final SmackDown episode before Fastlane.
