Sean Waltman Coming Out of Retirement

Sean “X-Pac” Waltman has previously talked about considering another run and working several matches in the future. However, he had to get his knee fixed.

The former WWE star underwent knee surgery back in January by Dr. Chung at the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica, California.

Now with that fixed, he’s planning to come back for more matches. In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Waltman promoted his new Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast that premieres on April 1st.

He also talked about how a return to the ring is imminent once he recovers from ACL/meniscus surgery. He brought up how it was an injury that really affected matches. He felt that if he was going to start having meanful matches again, he needed to get his knee fixed.

This timeline will see him likely return by next January. He noted that while he’s psyched to have more matches in a WWE ring, but if the company isn’t interested in that then there are a lot of other places to work.

“I didn’t leave this business on my terms,” Waltman said. “I wasted a lot of years of my life wandering around in the darkness, but I’m grateful that I still have some time left. And the style has changed, which is good. The bumps are more meaningful than in my era, which is a difference, but they bump less. That extends your shelf life.”

Waltman’s last match came back in April 2019 at the WrestleCon Mark Hitchcock Memorial SuperShow.
