Drew McIntyre vs Randy Orton Announced For RAW

WWE RAW Results – February 8, 2021 – After a graphic In Memory of Butch Reed, we see the life long friendship between Sheamus and Drew McIntyre and how it fractured last week on RAW.

We’re live from the ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, as Adam Pearce introduces Shane McMahon!

Shane says it is great to be back in the Thunderdome because we are on the Road to Wrestlemania.  Shane mentions that we are coming up on the Elimination Chamber.  They have a huge announcement for the Elimination Chamber.  Adam says that Drew McIntyre will defend the WWE Championship in the Elimination Chamber.

Shane asks Drew who else will be in the match. Adam says the challengers will be former Champions.  They will be Randy Orton, Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, Miz, and Sheamus.

Shane says it was a pleasure to be out here and he says that Adam is doing a great job. AJ Styles walks out with Omos and Shane and Omos have a Raw Underground reunion.

In the ring, AJ asks for a moment of Adam’s time.  He says that Shane is right that Adam is doing a great job.  AJ wants to make sure he has this straight.  Drew McIntyre has to defend the title inside the Elimination Chamber.  Think of the chances of Drew losing the title in that match.  They are PHENOMENAL.  AJ says it is a perfect time too.  It is the Road to Wrestlemania.  This is perfect time for him to be a three time WWE Champion.  AJ says he thought of Pearce as a dumbass, but that is neither here nor there.  AJ says that Omos and the future WWE Champion are going to give a snippet of what is going to happen in the Elimination Chamber.

Jeff Hardy comes out because he is AJ’s opponent as we go to commercial.

— Back from the break and Shane McMahon gets ready to get into his vehicle and leave, as Drew McIntyre stops him.  Drew says he would have appreciated a heads up on the match.  Shane tells Drew he will have his one on one match with Sheamus, but they needed a big match for the Elimination Chamber.

Jeff Hardy vs. AJ Styles (with Omos)

They lock up and Hardy with a clean break.  They lock up and Styles with a waist lock and Hardy with a side head lock.  Hardy holds on when AJ tries to send him off the ropes.  Hardy with a shoulder tackle.  AJ with a kick and punches.  The referee warns AJ but AJ resumes with punches.  Hardy with a kick and he sends AJ into the turnbuckles.  Hardy with shoulders and a snap mare followed by a drop kick for a near fall.  Hardy with an arm bar.  Styles with a shoulder in the corner followed by an Irish whip and shoulder.

Hardy with a back body drop and he gets a near fall.  Hardy sends AJ into the turnbuckles and Hardy with a punch.  Hardy continues the lap around the ring by sending AJ into the turnbuckles.  Hardy with a leg drop for a near fall.  Hardy with a double sledge in the corner.  AJ with an Irish whip and Hardy floats over and AJ goes into the turnbuckles.  Hardy’s knee gives out and he rolls to the floor.  AJ clips Hardy against the announce table.  AJ breaks the count and he hits an atomic drop to the knee and he sends Hardy’s leg into the ring post.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Styles with a knee drop to the leg.  AJ kicks Hardy in the back of the leg.  AJ with a kneeDT.  AJ grabs the leg and Hardy with an enzuigiri.  AJ goes for a Calf Crusher and locks it in.  Hardy gets to the ropes to break the hold.  Hardy with punches and AJ with an Irish whip and Hardy’s knee gives out again.  Hardy sends AJ to the apron and AJ goes for a Phenomenal Forearm but Hardy hits the ropes and AJ lands on the mat.  Hardy with a sit out jaw breaker and a reverse atomic drop followed by a double leg take down and leg drop.  Hardy with a drop kick and splash for a near fall.  

Hardy with a gourdbuster and he gets a near fall.   AJ with a kick to the leg and he goes for a Styles Clash but Hardy escapes and hits a Twist of Fate.  Hardy goes up top and misses a swanton when AJ moves.  AJ with the Calf Crusher.  Hardy rolls into the center of the ring instead of the ropes and Hardy taps out.

Winner:  AJ Styles

— We take a look back at what happened last week during the United States Championship Match between Bobby Lashley and Riddle. Riddle will face the returning Keith Lee later tonight.

Backstage:

Keith Lee is in the back and Matt Riddle shows up.  Keith points out that Matt is his opponent tonight and he points out Riddle’s black eye.  Riddle says laughter is the best medicine and he went home and got toasty and watched the Air Bud movies. Keith wants to know why is Riddle continuing this with the Hurt Business.  Matt compares his journey to Air Bud and he says he will continue to try to get the title. Keith says it is time for someone new to challenge Lashley and he will beat Lee.

— The New Day vs. Retribution is next. We go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Adam Pearce is in the back with Sheamus.  Sheamus complains about his one on one title match that he was promised.  Now he is in an Elimination Chamber Match.  Sheamus asks Adam if that means he is not a draw.  Adam says we are trying for the best match and Sheamus calls Adam an empty suit.  He says Pearce is like Drew McIntyre, full of broken promises.  Sheamus says he gets it.  Drew is the shiny new toy.  Sheamus says Drew would be nothing without me.  You want to put me in an Elimination Chamber Match and stack the odds against me, it is your idea.  I will unleash brutality on every Superstar in that match.  It is your responsibility.

The New Day vs. T-Bar and Slapjack

Slapjack and Woods start things off and Slapjack with a waist lock.  Woods with a wrist lock and a side head lock take down.  Woods with a shoulder tackle for a near fall.  Woods with a side head lock take down.  Slapjack with an arm bar and wrist lock.  Woods with a reversal and chop.  Kofi tags in and Woods hits a side Russian leg sweep as Kofi hits a missile drop kick.  Kofi gets a near fall.  Kofi with a chop and Slapjack tags in T-Bar.  T-Bar with a shoulder tackle.  Kofi goes for a monkey flip but T-Bar blocks it and Kofi with chops.  T-Bar catches Kofi on a cross body attempt and T-Bar gets Kofi on his shoulders.  Kofi escapes.  T-Bar catches Kofi on a leap frog but Kofi goes for a sunset flip.

T-Bar grabs Kofi by the throat and sends him face first to the mat.  T-Bar is sent to the floor and Slapjack goes to the apron.  Woods kicks Slapjack off the apron and Kofi with a plancha as we go to commercial.

We are back and Woods punches T-Bar but T-Bar with elbows in the corner.  T-Bar stands on Woods’ chest and tags in Slapjack.  T-Bar with a slam and Slapjack with a boot.  Slapjack with a reverse chin lock.  Woods with a jaw breaker and Slapjack prevents Woods from making the tag and T-Bar kicks Kofi off the apron. T-Bar with a clothesline to Woods for a near fall.  T-Bar picks up Woods by the throat and Slapjack tags in.  They hit a belly-to-back suplex and choke slam combination for a near fall.  Woods with a rollup for a near fall.

Kofi tags in and he hits a chop off the turnbuckles.  Kofi with chops and a drop kick to Slapjack.  Kofi knocks T-Bar off the apron and Kofi with a jumping clothesline to Slapjack.  Kofi with a Boom Drop.  T-Bar misses an elbow and Kofi with Trouble in Paradise to T-Bar.  Kofi with an elbow and Woods tags in and he kicks Slapjack.  Kofi tags in and Woods with a back breaker and Daybreak for the three count.

Winners:  Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods

After the match, Ali berates T-Bar, Slapjack, and Mace.  

— We take a look back at Bianca Belair’s victory at the Royal Rumble and the reaction of Bianca’s parents when she won. Bianca will be on Raw tonight.

— Ric Flair and Lacey Evans make their way to the ring as we go to commercial.

— We are back and Damian Priest is with Bad Bunny.  Priest asks him if he is in his corner tonight.

In the Arena:

We go back to the ring and The Nature Boy has the mic, with Evans at his side.

Flair says people out there are asking why he wants to be back in the mix. Flair says he takes orders from no woman, including his daughter Charlotte Flair. He goes on ranting about Charlotte and says he’s met someone who has all the physical qualifications and drive to be a star. All she needs is some motivation, knowledge and wisdom. Flair says Charlotte may be the greatest female wrestler in WWE today but he’s still going to train Evans and they are in charge. Flair says their relationship is just casual but if she comes under his charm, it’s expected. Flair serves notice to RAW Women’s Champion Asuka and says Evans will be the next champion.

Evans says people who think they know what is going on have no idea. She does think Ric is cute but she has nothing but respect for him and treats him like the living legend he is, unlike his daughter. Evans continues to rant until the music interrupts and out comes Charlotte to a pop. Charlotte poses on the ramp as the pyro goes off. Ric looks to go open the ropes for his daughter but Evans stops him.

Charlotte enters the ring and says if Evans really wanted to learn she’d take her ass to Orlando and train at the WWE Performance Center, but she just wants to leach off Charlotte and use her dad. Evans goes to speak but Charlotte tells her to shut up. Charlotte has always said she wants her dad’s help but she’s been trying to add to the legacy for years. She doesn’t care who Ric manages, as long as he doesn’t bring her down with him. Evans isn’t trying to take her place, she just wants to listen and learn from Ric. Evans asks why they can’t work together, why do they have to be enemies? Evans insults Asuka and says they should team up instead. Charlotte has been trying to prove to everyone she can do this on her own, and she already has a partner. She calls Evans a Charlotte 2.0. Evans gets close to Ric and says her eyes are on the RAW Women’s Title. Evans reveals that Ric was told by WWE officials that Evans will earn a title shot if she can beat Charlotte. Charlotte wants to fight now but Ric doesn’t want them to. Evans sends Charlotte out of the ring with a cheap shot, then sends her into the steel ring steps. Fans boo as Evans stands over Charlotte at ringside. We go to commercial.

— We are back and Angel Garza is with Miz and John Morrison.

Lacey Evans vs. Charlotte Flair

We go back to the ring and the bell hits as Charlotte Flair rams Lacey Evans into the corner, working her over with thrusts. WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair watches from ringside.

Evans goes for the arm and turns it around on Charlotte. Flair takes Evans down by her arm now but Evans reaches the ropes to break it. More back and forth now. Charlotte goes for a roll-up but it’s blocked. Charlotte keeps fighting and Evans takes her down by her arm. Flair comes right back with a dropkick.

Evans goes for the arm from the apron, then takes Charlotte’s legs out. Evans launches herself over the top rope with an elbow drop to the gut. Evans focuses on Charlotte’s arm now. Charlotte counters with a big clothesline. Flair goes for the Figure Four but Evans crawls to the bottom rope. Evans kicks Flair in the knee. They tangle and Evans goes for the arm, taking Flair down. Flair kips up and tells her to bring it. Evans takes her right back down.

More back and forth now. Evans does the Flair strut to boos. Charlotte levels her and launches her over her head, sending her out of the ring to Ric for a pop. Charlotte does the strut now. They keep going until Evans manages to drop Flair at ringside. She goes down clutching her arm and we go back to commercial.

Back from the break and Evans is working on the injured arm in the corner. Flair fights back but Evans trips her. Evans with a jawbreaker. Evans takes Flair back down with focus on the arm. More back and forth now. Flair fights back from the corner but Evans clotheslines her for a close 2 count. Evans with a neckbreaker in the middle of the ring for another 2 count as Ric looks on.

Evans goes for a big moonsault but Flair gets her knees up and Evans lands hard. Flair with big chops now, dropping Evans. Evans slaps Flair in the corner. Evans charges but Flair levels her with a big boot for a 2 count. Evans rolls to the floor as the referee counts. Charlotte goes to the floor and has words with her dad. Evans takes advantage of the distraction and takes Flair down by her hurt arm. Evans brings it back into the ring for a 2 count. Ric tries to instruct Evans for the Figure Four but it’s blocked. Flair comes back with a big Spear to Evans.

Charlotte stares out at her dad and yells at him. She tells him to watch this before she unloads in the corner with forearms to the face. The referee warns her but she puts hands on him and goes back to work on Evans. The referee calls the match.

Winner:  Lacey Evans (by disqualification)

After the bell, Charlotte unloads on Evans in the corner some more as fans cheer her on. Ric comes in the ring and yells at her. Charlotte backs off and makes her exit as her music hits while Ric helps Evans up from the mat.

In the Arena:

We are back and the 2021 Royal Rumble winner, Edge, makes his way to the ring.

Edge says last week was a hell of a week and it started with him winning the Royal Rumble.  Which champion does he challenge?  It may seem easy on the surface, but it was not that easy for him.  He says he came to Raw to get the lay of the land and finish his business with Randy Orton.  Edge says he came so close to making his decision.  Now the landscape has changed.  Drew McIntyre has to defend his title in the Elmination Chamber.  He knows that Roman Reigns is the Universal Champion and Finn Balor is the NXT Champion.  He knows that the Elimination Chamber is one of the most brutal matches in WWE.  Edge says he does not know who will step out of the Elimination Chamber.

Edge says he likes his chances against the participants in the Elimination Chamber.  He says he does not like Drew’s odds.  Edge says he will wait until the dust settles at Elimination Chamber to make his decision.

Miz, John Morrison, and Angel Garza come out and Miz says that was a great speech that reeks of Awesomeness.  Miz says that Edge is the ultimate opportunist and you are waiting for the ultimate opportunity.  Miz says that he is a strategizer so let’s strategize.  I will be there with this briefcase and I will cash in my contract on you and I will leave Wrestlemania as champion.  Miz welsomes Edge back.

Edge asks Miz if he knows who he is talking to.  I put that briefcase on the map.  As soon as I raise that championship, I will need to have eyes in the back of my head.  You told me what you are going to do.  You need to worry about Damian Priest and Bad Bunny.  You are on a different level as me.  I need to see this story through.  I need to be champion.

Edge tells Miz to think about it and leaves the ring. We go to commercial.

Damian Priest (with Bad Bunny) vs. Angel Garza (with Miz and John Morrison)

Priest sends Garza into the corner and follows with a punch.  Priest with an uppercut.  Garza with a kick and Priest with a spinning heel kick.  Priest gets a near fall.  Garza with a series of drop kicks for a near fall.  The referee is distracted by Garza and Miz and Morrison punch Priest.  Garza throws his pants at Bad Bunny.  Garza with a figure four on the legs but Priest escapes.  Priest wit a chop.  Priest with kicks to Garza followed by a rolling elbow and clothesline.

Priest with an elbow into the corner and Miz and Morrison get on the apron but then go back to the floor.  Garza clotheslines Priest over the top rope to the floor.  Miz and Morrison kick Priest but Bad Bunny takes the briefcase.  Morrison is in the ring with the briefcase and Morrison is sent to the back, along with Miz.  Garza has some words for Bad Bunny and Priest boxes the ears and hits Reckoning for the three count.

Winner:  Damain Priest

Backstage:

Charly Caruso is in the back with Drew McIntyre.  Drew is asked about his night.  Drew says it is Wrestlemania season and expect the unexpected, just like what Sheamus did last week.  Why sever a 20 year friendship when all you had to do was ask for the match.  My focus is on Randy Orton.  He will make sure that I don’t make it to Elimination Chamber.  Drew mentions the target on his back and how big it is.  He says things are crazy around here and he is backed into a corner.  When you back me into a corner, I am like a wild animal.  I dare you to come at me because I will rip your face off.

— Riddle Makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Charly announces that Asuka will face Lacey Evans at Elimination Chamber. Bianca Belair is asked about how that announcement affects her.  Bianca says this is her time and she knows that a smart challenger never admits her choice.  It could be Sasha Banks.  It could be Asuka.  It could be Lacey Evans.  You would be a fool to underestimate Asuka. Asuka shows up and congratulates Bianca on winning the Royal Rumble, but that does not mean that you are ready for Asuka. Belair disagrees but they do agree and dance over Lacey Evans not being ready for Asuka.

Riddle vs. Keith Lee

Riddle wants a fist bump and Lee gives it to him.  They lock up and Riddle goes for an arm bar but Lee blocks it.  Lee with a one arm power bomb attempt but Riddle with an arm bar and Lee escapes.  Riddle goes for the legs and Lee with a front face lock and he tosses Riddle aside.  Riddle goes for the leg and then he applies a sleeper and Lee tries to get to the ropes but Lee is able to snap mare Riddle.  Riddle gets back into the ring.  They have a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock  and Lee misses a punch.  Riddle with punches to Lee followed by a forearm.  Riddle with a running forearm but Lee blocks it and grabs Riddle by the throat.  Riddle with kicks. 

Lee with a POUNCE to Riddle.  Lee gets a near fall.  Lee with punches in the corner.  Lee with a hard Irish whip.  Riddle with forearms but Lee with a punch and Riddle goes down.  Riddle with more punches and forearms but Lee blocks a kick and hits a back fist.  Lee with a German suplex but Riddle lands on his feet.  Riddle with a Pele Kick.  Riddle with running forearms into the corner.  Riddle goes for an exploder but Lee blocks it.  Lee with Grizzly Magnum and he gets Riddle up for the Spirit Bomb but Riddle gets to his feet.  Riddle with a knee and he gets a near fall.

Riddle with a running kick to the chest and he goes to the turnbuckles for a twisting senton for a near fall.  Riddle with a series of back sentons.  Riddle has a knee blocked and Lee gets Riddle up for a Spirit Bomb but Riddle counters into a triangle.  Riddle gets Lee to the mat.  Lee with a one arm buckle bomb.  Riddle with a running knee but Lee counters with a Spirit Bomb for the three count.

Winner:  Keith Lee

After the match, Lee stands tall as his music hits. MVP stands up and applauds Lee. Lee helps Riddle up but Bobby Lashley attacks them from behind. Lee turns around and shakes his head at Lashley. They’re about to battle but Lashley picks Lee up and easily drives him into the mat. Lashley then applies The Hurt Lock to Riddle and manhandles him to boos. Lee tries to come back into the mix from the apron but Lashley knocks him off to the floor. Lashley runs around the ring and levels Lee at ringside, then sends him into the ring post. Lashley grabs half of the steel steps and rams them into Lee’s face as he tries to get back up, sending him over the announce table. The boos get louder as Lashley stands on top of the announce table, looking down at Lee laid out on the floor. The music hits and MVP praises Lashley as Lashley raises his title in the air. We go to replays. Lashley stands tall on the stage now with MVP, looking back at the ring as Riddle and Lee struggle to recover.

— Back from the break and we have a video package for Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre.

Backstage:

Randy Orton says unfinished business.  That’s what stands between you and I, Drew.  It is a fact that you took that title from me.  At Elimination Chamber, I will be taking it back.  I am the man who will do whatever it takes to get what I want.  That title means everything to me.  If it means kicking legends in the skull, RKOing anyone in my way, or setting the Fiend on Fire.  I am responsible for those actions, but they end any unfinished business.  Tonight, you get reintroduced to the Legend Killer.  I will walk into Wrestlemania as WWE Champion.

— We see tables around the ring as Lana vs. Nia Jax in a Tables Match is next! Back to commercial.

Nia Jax vs. Lana in a Tables Match

Nia sends Lana down to the mat.  Nia with a forearm and kicks Lana in the back.  Nia with a choke slam from a power bomb set up.  Nia goes for another choke slam and hits it.  Nia has some words for Naomi.  Nia with a stretch muffler and she picks Lana off the mat.  Nia swings Lana’s head into the turnbuckles.  Nia chokes Lana in the ropes and stomps on the back.  Nia picks up Lana and tries to slam her out of the ring through a table but Lana is able to stay in the ring.

Nia with a shoulder tackle to Lana.  Nia gets Lana up for a power bomb but Lana counters to send Nia to the apron.  Lana with round kicks.  Nia with a head butt and she chokes Lana.  Lana drops Nia on the edge of the apron.  Nia takes out her anger on a table and pushes it over.  Lana pushes Nia through a table against the ringside barrier.

Winner:  Lana

After the match, Shayna attacks Lana but Naomi with a springboard round kick that sends Shayna to the floor. We go to commercial.

Naomi vs. Shayna Baszler

Shayna with a kick to the head and then Shayna sets to stomp on the elbow but Naomi gets her arm out of the way.  Shayna stomps on the arm.  Shayna works on the arm and slams it into the mat.  Shayna with a double wrist lock.  Shayna misses a knee in the corner and Naomi with a drop kick and head scissors take down.  Naomi with a punch and a sit out jaw breaker.  Shayna with an Irish whip and Naomi with a kick.  Shayna with a Kirifuda Clutch but Naomi rolls to the ropes.  

Shayna attacks Lana on the floor with kicks and she sends Lana into the ringside barrier.  Shayna returns to the ring and Naomi with an inside cradle out of nowhere for the three count.

Winner:  Naomi

— We get a promo for WWE Elimination Chamber.

— Randy Orton makes his way to the ring for tonight’s main event as we go to commercial.

— We are back and we are told that Bobby Lashley will defend the United States Championship against Matt Riddle and Keith Lee.

Randy Orton vs. Drew McIntyre in a Non Title Match

We go back to the ring and out comes WWE Champion Drew McIntyre for the non-title main event. They lock up and go at it after the bell. McIntyre blocks the RKO early on and Orton then avoids a Claymore Kick. Orton goes to the floor to regroup. He tries to rush back in but Drew rocks him.

Drew tries to use Orton’s second rope draping DDT but it backfires. Drew comes back and levels Orton out of the corner. Sheamus’ music hits and out he comes, running down to ringside to distract Drew. Orton takes advantage and drops Drew from behind, then sends him into the ring post. Orton runs Drew on the apron again, sending him into the opposite ring post. Drew goes down on the floor and he’s upset. Back to commercial.

Back from the break and Orton is in control but Drew fights back. Orton tosses Drew through the ropes to the floor, right in front of Sheamus. Orton slams Drew face-first into the announce table, then slams him on top of it as the referee counts. Orton brings it back in the ring for a close 2 count. Orton grounds Drew with a headlock now.

Drew fights up but Orton rocks him in the gut. Drew tries to mount offense now but Orton keeps fighting back. More back and forth now. Drew catches Orton and tosses him over his head, and again. Drew with a big neckbreaker and a kip up for a pop as he stands tall. Orton blocks the Futureshock DDT and jackknifes Drew for a 2 count. Drew comes right back with a Spinebuster for a close 2 count. Drew shows some frustration now as Sheamus watches.

Drew goes to the top but Orton cuts him off and works him over. Orton climbs up for a big superplex and he hits it. Both competitors are down but Orton rolls over for a 2 count. Orton gets up first but Drew nails the big Glasgow Kiss headbutt. Orton turns it back around and nails the draping DDT for boos from the crowd. Fans boo louder as Orton stands tall and signals for the finish. Orton drops down and starts pounding the mat. Drew blocks the RKO, kicks Orton and drops him with the Futureshock DDT for a pop. Drew sits up on his knees and stares down at Orton, waiting for him to get back up. Drew dodges a Brogue Kick as Sheamus rushes from behind out of nowhere, but it lays Orton out instead. The referee calls for the bell.

Winner by DQ: Randy Orton

After the bell, Drew comes right back and drops Sheamus with a Claymore. Drew’s music hits as he stands tall with the WWE Title belt in the air. Orton and Sheamus are still down. RAW goes off the air.
