WWE RAW Results - January 18

WWE RAW Results – January 18, 2021 – We begin with the annual tribute to Martin Luther King Jr.

We’re live from the ThunderDome at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida, as the announcers welcome us to the show.

Randy Orton is in a dark, empty ring, and says there is a saying that people who fight fire with fire end up with ashes.  Ashes of the one responsible for their affliction.  Randy says the voices in his head have never been louder.  Encapsulating him like this mask encapsulates his face.  Three weeks ago, I held Alexa Bliss’ fate in my hands and I showed a side of myself that I didn’t know existed… compassion.  The pure hatred I have for myself needed to be redirected and my next victim came as lamb to the slaughter.  Until she interrupted.

Now look at me.  LOOK AT ME!!  This is the damnation I receive for showing compassion?  I have not been able to sleep because every time I close my eyes I see that ball of fire coming for my face.  That inescapable feeling of fire melting my flesh will not go away.  The compassion left in my body left as that inferno engulfed my face.  I am wearing this mask to protect myself and shield everyone from the horror I endured.

Despite the agony I felt that would mortify a lesser man, I consider myself lucky.  I came away with first degree burns and the result could have been worse.  I don’t blame her.  I blame HIM.  I blame The Fiend.  I sent him straight to hell.  Orton says there is no doubt that the Fiend is responsible for this.  Alexa is the vehicle and I know what the Fiend wants.  He wants to stop me from achieving the inevitable.  I know everyone in that locker room enjoyed seeing my face burnt to a crisp knowing that their biggest threat would be out of the Royal Rumble.  You could chop off all of my limbs and it won’t stop me from winning the Royal Rumble.  I vow to remain in the Royal Rumble match.  I can only compete as long as I tolerate the pain.  I enjoy the pain.  It fuels my every move.

Orton lights a match and says everyone can thank the Fiend when I burn their Royal Rumble dreams to ashes and go on to main event Wrestlemania. Orton strikes the match, stares at the flame, and then blows it out to end the segment.
