Jay White says he will quit after New Year Dash
Wrestle Kingdom 15 was a great success and on Night 2 the main event between Kota Ibushi vs challenger Jay White was the stand-out match. White was the holder of the G1 briefcase and was against Ibushi who is the double gold champion now. The matchup nearly lasted 50 minutes to complete and was jam-packed with action. Both looked at one point like they were getting the advantage but it was eventually Ibushi that came out on top by pinning White.
White was the underdog with Ohio online gambling sites so it should have come as no surprise that he was not able to take the gold from Ibushi. If it is going to be his last match he can hold his head high as they were able to put on a great main event.
The results mean that Ibushi retains his titles and will continue to be the man to beat. A much different path is set for White, however, as after the contest he was distraught. During the post-show conference, he took part and broke down. He said that he was done and ready to quit the business which came as a shock to everyone there. There is still a chance he may change his mind but from the statement he issued, it seems like we will not be seeing White in the WWE very soon.
White has made a lot of sacrifices to get where he is today. He had to leave his family, parents, and friends to chase his dreams of becoming a WWE wrestler. Coming from New Zealand and arriving in the US was a major change in his life and he dedicated his time to become a star in the WWE.
It has taken its toll on Whites body and mind which was on display at the post-fight conference. He stated that he felt close to physical death and put his health on the line for himself along with entertaining all the fans. He started complaining that he was not respected or appreciated which is one of the main reasons he wants to walk away from the sport.
By the end of the press conference, White had completely lost his mind. He ended up throwing chairs tables and even fell off his chair. He blasted everyone saying he refuses to make all of these sacrifices as it is not worth it. He would rather be at home with his family and says he is done with the sport.
It has been nearly eight years since White first started training wrestling and you can see the stresses and strains along with under appreciation has had a major impact on White. He said he does not want to do it anymore and it was stated with such certainty that I believe that is the last we will see of him. He will be greatly missed if that is the case and hope that he can recover along with finding a new path in life.
