Possible Overrun For This Week’s AEW Dynamite – This week’s “Winter Is Coming” edition of AEW Dynamite on TNT is one of if not the most stacked episodes in the history of the television series.
In the main event, Jon Moxley will defend the AEW World Heavyweight Title against Kenny Omega. Most people would agree in thinking this is a PPV caliber match and one that AEW could’ve saved for its February Revolution pay-per-view.
Unlike in the past, WWE NXT is not counter-programming AEW this week. It appears that AEW could take a page out of the NXT playbook by having an overrun.
As recently as October’s NXT Halloween Havoc, WWE has done overruns on NXT TV as a way to boost viewership. People will tune into the network to watch the program following the WWE show.
During a media conference call today, AEW President Tony Khan mentioned that TNT has told them that they’re willing to go over the planned two-hour window for this contest. Fast & Furious 6 follows Wednesday’s Dynamite on TNT.
Dynamite Diamond Battle Royale and AEW TNT Champion Darby Allin and Cody vs. Ricky Starks and Will Hobbs are some of the other matches announced for the show.
