WWE Smackdown Results - November 20, 2020

The final WWE SmackDown before Survivor Series opens up on FOX with SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Street Profits backstage. They hype tonight’s go-home show and Sunday’s pay-per-view, including the “Final Farewell” for The Undertaker. Thunder and lighting strikes. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins can’t believe it. We hear “Rest in…” but Big E appears, not The Undertaker. He’s wearing a sombrero instead of a Taker-style hat, and jokes that this is all they had in the props department. Big E praises RAW Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods while The Street Profits hype themselves up. Big E believes The New Day will win on Sunday while The Profits insist they will take the win home. Big E reveals that Kofi and Woods are here tonight. Big E does the signature New Day intro, in the faces of The Profits, and stares them down.

– We go right to The ThunderDome inside the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida as RAW Tag Team Champions Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods head to the ring. Michael Cole welcomes us. He’s joined at ringside by Corey Graves.

In the Arena:

Kofi and Xavier make their way to the ring.

Xavier says they don’t belong here, but they were invited so they said why not and see if there are any giant fists breaking through giant panes of glass.  Kofi asks if there are any rooms in the Smackdown Motel.  Xaiver says they are two days away from Survivor Series and they have words for the Street Profits.  Kofi says they want the smoke and Xavier says on Sunday, the Street Profits will be dead men.  Kofi asks Xavier about his tone and Xavier mentions the tribute to Undertaker on Sunday.

Kofi and Xavier pay tribute by sitting up.

Sami Zayn’s music plays and he says all you can talk about is the Undertaker.  We are a few days away from Survivor Series and all you talk about is the Undertaker.  Sami says this is the end for the Undertaker because Sami is coming for revenge and WWE is letting him take the coward’s way out.  Sami says WWE Management would love to protect Bobby Lashley because he is the US Champion and he looks good in a suit.  Sami says he will show that the Intercontinental Champion is better than the US Champion.

Sami says he is not going to hurt the New Day and he will let them do the right thing and talk about the hottest thing in WWE, the champion of the people, Sami Zayn.

Kofi says they can say something about Sami.  Xavier says Sami’s outfit looks great.  He looks like a recently divorced dad who made a down payment on his studio apartment.

Baron Corbin comes out and wonders why Sami is letting the New Day talk about him like that.  It was bad enough that Drew McIntyre was here last week.

Xavier says their match was a farewell match as Smackdown superstars.  They are visiting tonight.

Baron says that they don’t belong on his shows so they have to go.

Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler come to the ring and Dolph says he doesn’t like Sami.  Dolph says the New Day doesn’t belong here.  Dolph says they should be the tag team champions, not you.  Roode says if they got another match, they would be Raw tag team champions.

Kofi asks Roode and Ziggler if they want a tag title match.  Kofi suggests a match with a twist.  Xavier says they can defend the title, but against who?

Xavier says Ziggler and Roode are good, but you know who might be better?  Kofi says Baron Corbin and Sami Zayn.

Corbin says they are not a team and Sami says he has a big match on Sunday.  Sami says if they decided to team, they would beat Bobby and Dolph.  Sami says they are not a team and they are not interested.

Xavier says you four should have a match and the winners get a shot at the Raw Tag Team Chamiponships.

Roode and Ziggler attack Kofi and Woods when it appears they are going after Corbin and Zayn.

The Street Profits come out and they go after Roode and Ziggler.  Ford and Dawkins with drop kicks to Corbin and Zayn.  Ford with a flip dive and we go to commercial.

The Street Profits and The New Day vs. Baron Corbin, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode

The match is joined in progress and Ziggler punches Ford and Irish whips him and Ford floats over.  Ford with a drop kick.  Dawkins tags in and he drops Ford onto Ziggler and Dawkins gets a near fall.  Ziggler with a kick to the knee and a drop kick.  Roode tags in and Dawkins with a drop kick and wrist lock.  Kofi tags in and he works on the arm.  Roode with a knee to the midsection and a side head lock.  Kofi with a jumping back elbow.  Kofi with kicks in the corner and Woods tags in and kicks Roode.  Kofi with more kicks and then Woods with a drop kick for a near fall.  Roode with a back elbow.  Corbin tags in and he punches Woods.

Corbin with punches in the corner.  Woods with chops and Corbin with an Irish whip.  Corbin runs into a boot and Corbin counters an Honor Roll with a Deep Six for a near fall.  Corbin with elbows to Woods.  Woods with a sunset flip for a near fall.  Ford tags in and he punches Corbin and drop kicks Corbin and hits a jumping clothesline followed by a moonsault.  Everyone gets in the ring and Kofi with a double jump cross body that was intended for Roode but he hits Ford instead.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Ziggler with a reverse chin lock on Ford.  Ziggler sends Ford to the mat and tags in Corbin.  Ford with punches and kicks but Corbin sends Ford into teh turnbuckles and runs into a boot.  Ford with a cross body and Corbin catches Ford and gives Ford a slam for a near fall.  Corbin with punches.  Ziggler tags in and Ford with a punch that staggers Ziggler.  Ford with another punch and Ziggler sends Ford into the corner.  Ford with punches and he lands on his feet on a belly-to-back suplex attempt.  Ford with an enzuigiri and both men are down.  Roode and Kofi tag in and Kofi with clotheslines.

Kofi with chops and a drop kick.  Kofi with a Boom Drop.  Kofi sets for Trouble in Paradise but Kofi misses.  Roode tries for a DDT but Kofi escapes.  Woods tags in and Roode sends Kofi to the floor.  Woods with a kick from the apron and a tornado DDT for a near fall.  Dawkins tags in and Corbin hits Woods from behind.  Dawkins with a twisting splash to Roode but Roode with a spinebuster.  Roode tags Sami in and Sami does not want to come into the match.  Dawkins pulls Zayn in and hits a spinebuster followed by a Seven Star Frog Splash from Ford for the three count.

Winners: The Street Profits and The New Day

Backstage:

Bryan and his new haircut is shown backstage talking to Kayla Braxton. Sami Zayn walks by, ranting and yelling about the loss. Sami stops and starts ranting at Bryan about respect. Bryan just smiles, then covers his mouth with his mask. Bryan shoves Sami to the ground. Sami gets up, still yelling and ranting. He says this isn’t over and he won’t forget. Sami walks off. Bryan makes a comment to Kayla about social distancing and we go back to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Daniel Bryan is wtill with Kayla Braxton. She asks Daniel about the new hairdo. She then asks about his match against Jey Uso to qualify for the Survivor Series team. We have a video package. Daniel is asked if he came back too soon. Daniel says he heard the interview when Jey said it wasn’t personal. Daniel says he believes Jey because he has a devil on his shoulder. The devil is shouting and pushing him hard. Everyone has an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other. Daniel says as he gets ready for his match, which is talking louder to him about not being able to pick up his children or having his daughter crying when she sees him. Daniel tells Jey it is nothing personal.

Backstage:

Adam Pearce says there is a story that convinced him to add that person to Team Smackdown. We see that Adam is talking to Otis. Otis says he won’t let Team Smackdown down. Chad Gable stops by and says that they did it and they made him tap into his inner alpha.

Natalya shows up and she complains about having to face Tamina for the team. Pearce says he got to pick someone with a championship pedigree and that is why he chose Bayley. Natalya complains and Pearce says her match is next. Back to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Seth Rollins says when he took Murphy under his wing, he was a nobody.  Seth says he saved him and gave him a new life.  Seth says he is responsible for every good thing you have in your life.  Your burgeoning career, your beautiful girlfriend.  If it wasn’t for me and the greater good, you never would have met Aalyah.  What do I get in return?  I get STABBED IN THE BACK!  I get BETRAYED.  I will no longer suffer for your mistakes.  You will pay for them.  After I taught you my final lesson, you will go back to being a nobody.

Natalya vs. Tamina in a Survivor Series Qualifying Match

Bianca Belair joins the commentary team and Bayley comes to the ring before the match starts.  

Tamina sends Natalya to the mat and Natalya goes to the floor.  Tamina goes to the floor and she sends Natalya into the ring steps.  Tamina gets a near fall while Bayley claims to be the captain.  Tamina gets Natalya on her shoulders and Natalya gets back to her feet.  Tamina with knees in the corner while Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan watch in the back. Natalya moves and Tamina goes shoulder first into the ring post.  Natalya with a discus clothesline and she applies the Sharpshooter and Tamina taps out.

Winner:  Natalya

After the match, Liv and Ruby make their way to the ring while Natalya hugs Bayley in the ring.  Bayley wants everyone to join in for a team hug.  Bianca goes into the ring and so do Liv and Ruby.  They all raise each other’s hands.

— We take a look back at the WWE Championship match from RAW.

— Drew McIntyre makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.

In the Arena:

We are back and Adam Pearce and Drew McIntyre sit around Roman’s table cousin to wait for Roman Reigns to come to the ring. Roman’s music plays and he finally comes to the ring with Paul Heyman.

Pearce starts to sit down and Roman looks at Adam and Adam realizes that Roman sits at the head of the table. Adam says he is here to get their signatures on the contract to make this match official for Sunday.

Roman says he knew that Drew could do it, but Paul not so much.  Roman says he has been in Drew’s shoes.  All of these lessons he has learned.  What I am going to tell you, Paul told me years ago.  You are the right guy in the right place at the wrong time.

Drew says you are trying to get in my head and piss me off.  I am not going to flip the table and punch you.  I have my match with you.  I can talk about how you do business or how you feel about me.  Drew says he won the title, not for you, but for me.  You said be here today to sign the contract and that is what I am going to do.  Drew signs the contract and he tells Roman it is his turn and his show and his move.

Drew tells Roman to please underestimate him.  Use these last two days of peace to prepare for war.

Roman takes the pen but Paul throws the pen away and gives Roman another pen.  Roman says Drew is going to give him advice.  Roman says the Special Counsel advises the Tribal Chief.  This is my show.  I give you advice.  I am going to give you one last lesson under the learning tree.  At Survivor Series, you are not going to like it or understand the brutal truth.  You are a secondary title holder.  You are a prop and a stand in.  You are the one who gets the title when Roman is busy.  That is who you are.  The whole world knows who I am.  I am going to tell you one more time.  I am THE Champion.  I am the face of WWE.  I am your tribal chief and I am the head of the table.  That is who I am.  One day, years from now, you will finally have the opportunity to be the man.  You will finally have the opportunity to be the face of this company and be champion.  You are going to look back at these nights and thank me.

You are going to look in the mirror and see the man you thought you would be.  You will love me for these lessons I have taught you and I will love you right back.  Because you will always be my favorite number two.  Roman signs the contract and gets up as Paul hands him his title belt. Drew’s music now starts up as he stares at Reigns making his way to the back.

— Cole and Graves hype Rollins vs. Murphy. We see what happened last week in the “final chapter” of the Rollins vs. Rey Mysterio feud, presented by Progressive. The Progressive Match Flo video for this week features highlights from last Friday’s No Holds Barred match, won by Mysterio.

— Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.

Seth Rollins vs. Buddy Murphy

Rollins punches Murphy off the apron as he comes to the ring and Buddy tells Rey, Dominik, and his love that he has it.

The match starts and Murphy misses a knee.  Rollins with punches and Murphy punches back.  Rollins goes to the floor and Murphy kicks him from the apron.  Rollins sends Buddy into the ringside barrier and then into the ring post.  Rollins with a short arm clothesline.  Rollins ties Murphy in the ropes and he slaps Buddy.  Seth goes under the ring and he gets one of the Mysterio Family Kendo Sticks.  Rey takes the kendo stick and Rollins punches Seth and sends him into the announce table.  Rollins punches Dominik and sends him into the ringside barrier.

Murphy gets out of the ropes and he sends Rollins into the ringside barrier.  Rollins pushes Murphy off the ropes and Murphy hits the ringside barrier.   Rollins stalks after Aalyah after she falls to the floor. We go to commercial.

We are back and Rollins chokes Murphy in the corner and follows with a hard Irish whip.  Murphy with an Irish whip but Rollins with a back elbow.  Rollins stops a super kick with a back heel kick and follows with Slingblade for a near fall.  Rollins mounts the turnbuckles but the Mysterios distract him and Murphy escapes.  Murphy sends Rollins to the floor and Murphy with a kick through the ropes.  Murphy with a flip dive onto Rollins.  Murphy with a kick from the apron and he goes up top.  Rollins stops Murphy and goes for a superplex but Murphy pushes him off.  Rollins jumps back up and hits a superplex followed by a Falcon Arrow for a near fall.

They go to the apron and Rollins tries for a suplex but Murphy blocks it.  Rollins with punches but Murphy with a forearm.  They go back and forth.  Murphy with a kick on the apron followed by a jumping knee.  Rollins with Black Out with Murphy hanging in the ropes but Murphy gets his foot on the rope to stop the count.  Rollins with a buckle bomb.  Muprhy with a knee and Rollins misses Black Out.  Murphy with another jumping knee followed by Murphy’s Law for the three count.

Winner:  Buddy Murphy

Sasha Banks’ music plays and she starts her way to the ring as we go to commercial.

In the Arena:

Asuka had joined Sasha Banks in the ring when the show returned from the break. Michael Cole stood in the ring between them. he introduced both Asuka and Sasha Banks and said he wanted to talk about the match. He said it’s champion vs. champion, and the end of a bitter rivalry. He said Sasha took the Raw Women’s title from Asuka over the summer.

“You’re damn right I did!” Sasha exclaimed. Asuka interrupted her. Cole brought up Asuka winning the title back in the rematch at SummerSlam. He asked Sasha if Asuka has her number. Banks said it’s Boss Time, all the time. She called Asuka one of the best in the world, but said she’s going to trap her in the Bank Statement and make her tap out.

Asuka laughed. “You can’t see me!” she said. Banks said she can see her, and, for once, understand her. She kicked off her heels, offering to fight right now. She called herself the star, the standard, and the blueprint in the women’s division. “You have to know the best of the best, and that’s me.”

“You are not ready for Asuka!” Asuka retorted. Banks said she was born ready. Carmella attacked Sasha Banks from behind. He kicked Banks in the head and set her up in a tree of woe in the corner. Carmella wrapped Banks’ hair around the bottom rope and pulled. Asuka stood by, disinterested. Carmella kicked Banks in the face. “I told you to watch your back,” Carmella said, emphatically. Asuka looked on.

Backstage:

Kayla Braxton approached Jey Uso backstage. She asked for his comments regarding Daniel Bryan’s interview earlier. She asked if Jey had permission to speak to her. Jey said he’s got the green light, and he’s also got permission to finish what he started with Daniel Bryan. He said he’s responsible for his own actions and decisions. “The only devil talking to me right now is the one that lives right here,” Jey said. He said the devil is telling him to “go get him.” Back to commercial.

Daniel Bryan vs. Jey Uso

Bryan and Uso exchange punches and Jey kicks Bryan.  Bryan with kicks to the leg and then he works on the leg and traps them and follows with crossfaces and a knee.  Bryan with chops.  Jey with an uppercut and running back elbow.  Jey kicks Bryan to the floor and sends him into the ring steps.  Jey pulls off the cover of the announce table and he cleans off the table.  Bryan with a forearm and they return to the ring.  Bryan with a missile drop kick.  Bryan with kicks in the corner followed by punches to the midsection.

Jey with a punch.  Bryan with a punch and European uppercut.  Jey with a kick to the chest and Bryan sends Jey over the top rope to the floor.  Bryan with a suicide dive to Jey.  Bryan with a European uppercut against the announce table but Jey back drops Bryan through the announce table.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Jey with boots to the back.  Jey punches Bryan.  Jey with kicks to Bryan.  Jey with a chop in the corner followed by punches to the ribs and another chop.  Jey with a back breaker.  Bryan with punches from the apron and then he goes up top and Jey with a running forearm.  Jey sets for a superplex.  Jey gets a near fall.  Uso goes for a Samoan drop and Bryan counters with a crucifix.  Bryan goes for the LeBell Lock and Jey escapes and connects with elbows and knees to the ribs.  

Jey goes up top and Bryan crotches him.  Bryan with a belly-to-back superplex.  Bryan with kicks to the chest and back.  Bryan with a round kick for a near fall.  Bryan with boots to the head.  Bryan sets for running drop kick but Jey with two super kicks.  Jey with a third super kick and Jey goes up top for the frog splash but Bryan gets his knees up and gets the three count with a small package.

Winner:  Daniel Bryan

We go to credits with Bryan celebrating.
