A tweet that was just sent out by WrestleVotes has fans speculating that a long-time tag team may be splitting up on tonight’s WWE Draft edition of Friday Night SmackDown.
On September 17, WrestleVotes noted that there was an idea discussed for The New Day but it was turned down. The idea was to have Kofi Kingston move to Monday Night Raw and keep Big E on SmackDown. Xavier Woods would be in a manager type of role for both men and he would appear on both shows.
WrestleVotes quote tweeted that tweet today with a gulping GIF of Vince McMahon, which is fueling speculation that the idea to split up The New Day has been approved. We probably won’t know for sure until the show airs because, as many of you know, things can change between now and 8 pm eastern.
All three members of the group have been adamant about not turning on each other so this would appear to be a compromise. Of course, WWE could always reunite them later on in the future. A split makes sense now since Big E is being pushed as a singles star on SmackDown.
There is also talk of two top names switching brands tonight. Click here for that spoiler news.
