We are live from the WWE Thunderdome at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL, for the October 10th episode of Smackdown which is the first half of the WWE Draft 2020.
Michael and Corey discuss the process for tonight and the talent pool that is available to be drafted tonight. Michael mentions if a champion is drafted to the other brand, the title goes to the new brand.
Stephanie McMahon makes her way to the stage to host tonight’s draft. Stephanie comes out to a blue & red podium on the stage, and welcomes us to the 2020 Draft. She goes right to the first pick.
- RAW selects WWE Champion Drew McIntyre to stay on the brand.
- SmackDown selects WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns to stay on their brand as well.
- RAW next selects RAW Women’s Champion Asuka to stay on the brand.
- SmackDown then selects Seth Rollins, who is coming over from RAW.
- The last pick of the first round has The Hurt Business staying on RAW.
Backstage:
Seth Rollins is in the back and Kayla Braxton asks him about coming to Smackdown. He says it was never about the name, it was the message that meant the most. He says he is thrilled to make the move to Smackdown for the first time in his career. He says he is a little heartbroken that he won’t get to see the Mysterio family implode. Seth says he will never have to look at their disgusting faces again. The greater good is moving to Friiday night.
Big E vs. Sheamus in a Falls Count Anywhere Match
They lock up and Sheamus with a shoulder tackle for a near fall. Sheamus with a Finlay Roll for a near fall. Sheamus charges into the corner and Big E with a UranagE. Big E with a spear through the ropes and both men go to the floor. Big E gets a near fall in front of the announce table. Big E has pulled foam Booty-Os from under the ring but Big E decides to get a Mysterio Family Kendo Stick but Sheamus with a knee for a near fall. Sheamus with a forearm and he sennds Big E into the announce table and follows with a European uppercut. Sheamus and Big E with forearms and then Sheamus puts Big E on the apron and he punches Big E.
Sheamus ties Big E in the ropes and Sheamus grabs the kendo stick. Sheamus hits Big E in the chest with the kendo stick. Sheamus gets a near fall. Sheamus goes under the ring for something and Big E has some duct tape and he tapes Sheamus’ ankles. Big E hits Sheamus with the kendo stick. Big E hits Sheamus with the kendo stick and Sheamus goes over the ringside barrier.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Big E hits Sheamus with the kendo stick as they head into the back. Big E hits Sheamus one more time with the kendo stick. Sheamus with knees to block a suplex attempt. Sheamus slams Big E onto a table and he grabs the kendo stick and hits Big E. Sheamus pours some flour on Big E and then he throws eggs at Big E. Sheamus sends Big E into a storage case. They go into another hallway and Sheamus continues to kick Big E. Big E hits Sheamus with a broom. Big E grabs a trash can and slams it on Sheamus’ back a few times. They fight past a security guard at the door and they go into the garage.
Neither man sets off the metal detector and Big E makes sure to sanitize his hands before he punches Sheamus again. Sheamus hits Big E with a tire iron and into a car. Sheamus gets Big E up and hits White Noise through the windshield. Sheamus can only get a near fall on the hood. Sheamus slams a door on Big E. Sheamus puts Big E in a trunk and then he tries to slam the trunk on Big E’s arm but Big E is able to block it with his leg. Big E kicks Sheamus and he escapes the trunk.
Sheamus tries for a Brogue Kick but misses and knocks the trunk off the hinges. Big E power bombs Sheamus onto another car hood and then Sheamus is sent into that car’s windshield. Big E with a Big Ending from the car through a table for the three count.
Winner: Big E
After the bell, Big E’s music starts up in the arena but both competitors are still laid out in the parking garage. Big E tries to recover to end the segment.
– Still to come, Bayley defends against Sasha Banks. Also, The Fiend vs. Kevin Owens in The Fiend’s first SmackDown match.
– We go back to the ring and out comes Jey Uso. We see recent happenings between Jey and WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The announcers hype Uso vs. Reigns at WWE Hell In a Cell, which will take place inside the Cell. Jey stands tall in the ring and prepares to call his cousin out as we go back to commercial.
Backstage:
Big E is with Kayla Braxton and before he can say anything, Kofi Kingston shows up dressed as security and so does Xavier Woods. Kofi says they are so excited because the New Day is back together. Kofi says it feels like something is missing. Xaviier says they are missing their Tag Titles. Xavier says they are back to regain those titles.
In the Arena:
We go back to the ring where Jey asks the Big Dog what is it going to be? What will be the stipulation for their Hell in a Cell match? Jey looks at the TitanTron. He says you aren’t going to come out. It has to be on your terms. There will be consquences.
Paul asks Jey to stop embarrassing himself and his entire family with this foolish attempt to dictate the time and location of the Universal Champion. That is at the discretion and leisure and the convenience of the champ. As for you, Jey, and for everyone else on Smackdown, both tenured and those drafted from Raw, he applauds your ambition. For those of you who try to be too ambitious and try to go after the champ, here is what happens when you step into the ring with the reigning, defending Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Roman is at the table while Paul stands behind him. Roman says when he was a kid, his dad, your uncle, used to say in this business believe nothing that you hear and half of what you see. What you just saw you can believe that. I tried to help you and make your life better. All you had to do was say the worlds. Acknowledge me as your tribal chief. For the first time inside Hell in a Cell, there will be an I Quit Match. It doesn’t have to be like this. I wanted to help you. I love you. After you say “I Quit”, there will be consequences.
— Stephanie McMahon is in the back with Adam Pearce showing her the draft cards. We go to commercial.
— We are back for the second ’round’ of the draft. Stephania announces that the New Day will face Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro for the tag titles.

- RAW is selecting AJ Styles to come over from SmackDown.
- SmackDown selects Sasha Banks to stay.
- RAW picks Naomi to come from SmackDown.
- SmackDown selects Bianca Belair to come over from RAW.
- The final pick of the second round sees RAW select WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax to stay on the brand.
— In a video, AJ Styles says he should be offended. He says he should have been Smackdown’s first pick. He says he is relieved. A person of his skill who is respected as much as he is should not be surrounded by cheaters like Jeff Hardy or Sami Zayn. AJ says he is going to Raw and his future is phenomenal.
Miz and John Morrison vs. Matt Riddle and Jeff Hardy
Morrison has a kick blocked and Riddle with a fisherman’s suplex. Jeff tags in and hits Poetry in Motion and then Miz is sent to the floor. Riddle with a senton off Hardy’s back onto Miz and Morrison as we go to commercial.
We are back and Miz and Morrison with kicks to Hardy and Morrison with a shooting star press for a near fall. Morrison with a cravate. Hardy with elbows and he goes for a Twist of Fate but Morrison escapes and both men are down with clotheslines. Miz and Riddle tag in and Riddle with a kick to the chest and then he hits a Pele kick on Morrison. Riddle with a t-bone suplex to Morrison and then one to Miz followed by a back senton. Riddle with a German suplex for a near fall. Hardy kicks Morrison and hits a Twist of Fate. Miz sends Hardy to the floor. Riddle with a knee and Bro Derek for the three count.
Winners: Jeff Hardy and Matt Riddle
After the match, Lars Sullivan‘s music plays and he makes his way to the ring. Sulivan atacks Riddle and Hardy. Sullivan picks up Riddle and hits a power slam. Sullivan backs Hardy to the corner and hits a short arm clothesline. Sullivan with more clotheslines and Freak Accident to Riddle. Morrison tries to pull Miz from the ring but he was too slow. Sullivan with crossfaces to Miz and sends him face first into the turnbuckles. Sullivan with Freak Accident to Miz. The music starts back up and Lars stands tall, yelling out at the crowd. Back to commercial as Lars stands tall.
— We are back with the third round of the draft. Stephanie mentions that Lars Sullivan is in Monday’s Draft Pool.
- RAW selects Ricochet with their first pick of the round.
- Smackdown’s first pick is Jey Uso.
- RAW selects Mandy Rose with their second pick of the round.
- Smackdown selects Rey and Dominik Mysterio with the second pick of the round.
- RAW’s final pick of the Round is Miz and John Morrison.
— Dominik and Rey Mysterio are in the back. Rey says Seth thought he was done with the past, but the past isn’t through with him.
Sasha Banks vs. Bayley for the Smackdown Women’s Championship
Sasha Banks slaps Bayley before the bell rings.
Sasha with forearms and punches followed by a knee to the head in the corner. Bayley gets to the floor to avoid crazy Sasha. Sasha holds the ropes open for Bayley but Bayley wants to go to the back. Sasha brings Bayley back into the ring. Sasha with a rollup for a near fall and she applies Banks Statement but Sasha pushes back into the center of the ring. Bayley with rollups for near falls. Sasha with a rollup for a near fall. Bayley with a clothesline.
Bayley with an Irish whip and Sasha floats over but Bayley gets Sasha on her shoulders but Sasha with an arm drag and Sasha with Banks Statement but Bayley gets to the ropes. Bayley goes to the floor and Sasha reaches for Bayley but Bayley with a punch to the head. Bayley hits Sasha with the chair and gets disqualified.
Winner by DQ: Sasha Banks
After the match, Banks is furious. She ends up sending Bayley face-first into the chair in the corner. Banks folds the chair up and smacks Bayley across the back several times now, yelling at her. Banks goes to use the chair to break Bayley’s neck but she comes off the top and Bayley moves out of the way, retreating to the floor as officials rush over. Banks looks on from the apron as Bayley clutches her title on the floor. They yell at each other.

— Kevin Owens is in the back and Alexa Bliss walks up to Kevin and tells him to LET HIM IN. We go to commercial.
Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro vs. Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships
Cesaro and Woods start things off and Cesaro pushes Woods in the corner but Woods with forearms. Cesaro with a European uppercut. Woods with a head scissors take down and Cesaro with a clothesline. Cesaro kicks Woods and Woods chops back and adds punches. Woods with a rolling elbow and he kicks Nakamura off the apron. Woods with a splash and Kofi tags in and Woods with a back breaker and Kofi with a double stomp for a near fall when Nakamura breaks up the cover.
Nakamura kicks Woods to the floor as we go to commercial.
We are back and Cesaro with punches to Kofi in the corner. Nakamura tags in and so does Woods. Woods knkocks Cesaro off the apron and Woods with a jumping leg lariat. Woods sends Nakamura over the top rope and then he kicks Nakamura. Woods with a slingshot tornado DDT. Woods misses a splash in the corner and Nakamura with a knee. Cesaro tags in and Nakamura with a knee from the turnbuckles followed by a gutwrench suplex for a near fall. Kofi tags in and he hip tosses Cesaro to the floor. Kofi with a springboard tornado DDT on the floor.
Cesaro with a European uppercut for a near fall.Cesaro with a Giant Swing but Woods holds Shinsuke to stop Kinshasa. Kofi with Trouble in Paradise to Cesaro but Nakamura with a boot to Kofi. Woods tags in as Kofi lands on his feet on a reverse exploder. Kofi with Trouble in Paradise and Woods with a springboard elbow drop for the three count.

After the match, Big E comes out to celebrate with Kofi and Xavier.

Backstage:
Otis is in the locker room and he mentions that he got drafted but Tucker didn’t. Tucker says with Miz and Morrison going to Raw, they will drop their lawsuit. Otis says he better keep practiising. Otis says some words on latin and a woman enters and figures that he is Otis and he is handed papers. Tucker says there is a continuance. Otis says he is ready and he has a legal pad and pens. Tucker says it is a sleazy lawyer trick to drag this out and bleed you dry and drain you. Otis says no one drains his moisture.

Backstage:
Sasha Banks is in the back and she calls Bayley a coward. She should have known that you would get yourself disqualified. You want hell, you got it. You and me locked inside hell in a cell. I will break you. I will end everything there is about you. You used to be my best friend and I used to love you so very much. At Hell in a Cell, I will take what you love the most. I am going to take your Smackdown Women’s Championship.
Kevn Owens vs. The Fiend
Back in the ring and The Fiend makes his slooow way to the ring as we go to commercial.
Back from the break and the announcers hype Monday’s Draft edition of RAW. They announce big matches for next Friday’s SmackDown on FOX season two premiere – Braun Strowman vs. WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns with the title on the line, plus The New Day’s Farewell Match as they face Cesaro, Sheamus and Shinsuke Nakamura. Owens hits the ring and immediately hits two big corner cannonballs as the bell hits. Fiend gets right up. Owens comes at him but gets rocked a few times. Fiend ends up hitting a big crossbody to take Owens back down.
Fiend takes it to the floor and turns Owens inside out with a huge clothesline as the referee counts. Fiend rolls it back in. Owens dodges a shot but Fiend turns upside down in the corner. Owens takes a step back and stares at Fiend. Fiend catches a superkick and rocks Owens, then drives him down into the mat. Fiend runs into a big boot int he corner. Fiend headbutts him but Owens comes right back with a clothesline to take Fiend down. Fiend quickly gets up. Fiend grabs Owens but Owens elbows him. Owens sends Fiend to the floor and follows. Fiend ducks a shot and slams Owens on the announce table with the Uranage. Fiend then plants Owens face-first into the table with Sister Abigail. The referee counts and Fiend laughs as we go back to commercial.
Back from the break and Fiend has Owens down. Owens tries to fight up but Fiend delivers another Uranage in the middle of the ring. Fiend tries to snap Owens’ neck now. Fiend laughs while Owens is down. Fiend picks Owens back up and goes for Sister Abigail but Owens rocks him and superkicks him. Fiend stays up and Owens goes down. Owens with another superkick, then a third, but Fiend is still up. Fiend falls in the corner and Owens delivers a cannonball.
Owens with a second corner cannonball. Owens goes on and hits a big DDT on the floor. Owens goes in to break the count but Fiend stands right up. Owens drops him with a kick from the ring. Owens with a big splash from the apron to Fiend on the floor. Fiend quickly gets up again. Owens ends up hitting a Pop-Up Powerbomb on top of the announce table but it barely connects. Owens delivers a second powerbomb and that puts Fiend through the announce table. Fiend gets back to his feet and beats the count. Owens can’t believe it.
Fiend goes for the Mandible Claw but Owens resists. Owens delivers a Stunner but the Claw is still in. Fiend slams Owens with another Uranage while the Mandible is still applied. Fiend holds Owens down with the Claw for the pin to win.
Winner: The Fiend
After the match, the music hits and the red lights cover the arena as The Fiend stands tall. The lights suddenly go to black now. The red lights come back up and The Fiend is standing on the stage now, staring face-to-face with Alexa Bliss. The menacing sounds fill the arena. They both turn and look at the ring at the same tie, while Owens is down on the mat trying to recover, gasping for air. Bliss and Fiend turn back to each other and continue their staredown. The Fiend growls as his image flashes over the screen.
— Graves and Cole hype next Friday’s SmackDown on FOX season two premiere as tonight’s Draft edition goes off the air.
