AEW will be holding an 8-man single-elimination tournament over the next few weeks with the finals taking place at the AEW Full Gear pay-per-view event next month.
The winner of this tournament will receive a shot at the World Title, currently held by Jon Moxley.
Thus far, Hangman Page, Wardlow, Colt Cabana, Kenny Omega, Fenix, and Jungle Boy have been announced for the tournament.
After news of Page being added to the tournament was made on Wednesday night, Page released a press release via Twitter about his decision to join the tournament.
This isn’t a typical press release, but a statement that can only be done by Page in a humorous way. Some of the highlights from the statement include the following:
“The tournament could provide ‘Hangman’ Adam Page with his first opportunity to challenge for the AEW World Championship since his catastrophic and embarrassing loss to Chris Jericho at All Out 2019.”
“‘Hangman’ Adam Page will continue to wear a mask while in public, wash his hands, and social distance to avoid contracting COVID-19 to preserve the integrity of his lungs and his character.”
“‘Hangman’ Adam page will make an even further attempt to strengthen religion so that he can Pray to God that he doesn’t have to face Wardlow and his big muscle tits.”
