Triple H Comments on Renee Young Leaving WWE, New Draft, Randy Orton Wrestling In NXT, More

As noted, there are plans for a new WWE Draft and this was confirmed today on the NXT TakeOver: XXX conference call by Triple H.

Triple H did not give a specific date but said that it would be happening later this year. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s Dave Meltzer recently reported that the WWE Draft is currently scheduled for October.

There were a few others items of note discussed during the conference call, here are some notes.

– He was not aware of Lars Sullivan posting workout videos. There was no confirmation given on Sullivan’s status with WWE.

– He said “there’s always conversations” in regards to reports that Randy Orton wants to work with some NXT wrestlers but it’s difficult to make that happen than people realize. He likely is referring to long-term storyline plans that are in place that they wouldn’t want to change.

– He confirmed that there were talks about SummerSlam on a boat. He added that fans will find out why they decided on the ThunderDome rather than other options that were presented.

– He confirmed that NXT will stay at Full Sail University. He said, “For the foreseeable, staying in Full Sail is where we’re at and we’ll see where everything goes.”

– When asked if he focuses on the overall number or the coveted 18-49 demo for ratings, Triple H said, “I focus on NXT.”

– If NXT wrestlers appear on Raw Underground, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are now part of the Raw roster.

– Triple H said that it’s possible for Pat McAfee to do more in the ring after TakeOver: XXX.

– Triple H also discussed reports that Renee Young would be leaving WWE. Later reports indicated that she will be working SummerSlam before leaving WWE, and while Triple H did not comment on Young’s WWE status, he praised Young for the work she has done in WWE.

“I won’t comment on on that status,” Triple H said. “I’ll let Renee deal with that on her terms, but as far as her as a person and as a part of WWE, it’s been awesome, and she has been a large part of this. I’ve personally enjoyed working with her tremendously, and it’s been awesome to see her attack different things within the company and try different roles. I [think] she’s done an amazing job with all of them. I’ll let her handle the rest of it, but as far as her contributions, they’ve been awesome.”
