WWE RAW Results - June 1, 2020

We are at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, as The Monday Night Messiah, Murphy and Austin Theory make their way to the ring.

Seth Rollins says this is a huge night at RAW with a lot going on. He brings up his match with Black happening in the next few minutes. Black has left Rollins no choice but to enlighten him himself. Rollins says Rey will be on RAW later tonight to speak to everyone. He believes Rey won’t be able to announce his own retirement and that’s understandable so Rollins has taken it upon himself to handle that formality for Rey.

Seth says if you know Rey as well as he does, Rey is too humble and too modest to come to this ring and call himself a legend. Seth says it is his duty as a leader to come out and show that Rey was a sacrifice to the greater good. Rey was a sacrifice for the Greater Good of Raw. If that is not legendary, what is? It is true that Rey is without a doubt the greatest luchador to every live. He has transcended language and border. Rey is a kind and generous man. In his darkest hour, Rey presented himself to Seth to be sacrificed for the greater good. To be able to lead Raw into the future. It is his duty to appreciate Rey properly. To honor the end of Rey Mysterio’s career, he has prepared a video package to admire and enjoy the greatness that is Rey Mysterio.

After the video, Seth says that Rey is a guaranteed first ballot Hall of Famer and Seth says he would be honored to induct Rey into the Hall of Fame. Aleister Black makes his way to the ring without being lifted from the bowels of the stage and he forces Rollins to the floor.

We go to commercial.

Seth Rollins vs. Aleister Black

Black with a kick to the leg. Black with another kick to Rollins’ leg. They go to a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock and Black with more kicks and Rollins backs into the corner. Rollins with a forearm and Black with a leg sweep. Black misses a kick and Rollins goes to the floor. Rollins trips Black and pulls him to the floor. Black with a round kick to the chest and he sends Rollins back into the ring. Rollins with a drop kick as Black re-enters the ring. Rollins with punches. Rollins with a suplex and he gets a near fall.

Rollins with a wrist lock and boot on the neck. Rollins with an arm wringer. Black with punches but Rollins with a knee and drop kick. Rollins chokes Black in the ropes. Rollins with a knee and he sends Black to the floor and hits a suicide dive that sends Black into the boards. Black kicks Rollins but misses a double stop. Rolilns with an elbow but he misses an enzuigiri. Rollins with a take down but Black with a round kick. Rollins sends Black to the floor with a back drop. Murphy and Theory make their way to Black while Rollins distracts the referee.

Before they can do anything, Humberto Carrillo’s music plays and he is out with a chair. We go to commercial.

We are back and Rollins chokes Black in the corner. Rollins with a forearm to the back. Rollins misses a drop kick and Black with a waist lock but Rollins with a back elbow. Black with a kick and Rollins with slingblade for a near fall. Rollins with a forearm and he goes to the apron. Rollins goes for a springboard move but Black moves and he punches Rollins. Black with kicks to Rollins including a leg sweep and flying boot to the head. Black with a quebrada for a near fall. Black with a rollup for a near fall. Rollins counters and gets a near fall. Black with a kick and German suplex for a near fall.

Rollins with an enzuigiri follwoed by a super kick and Falcon Arrow for a near fall. Rollins goes up top and Black gets his knees up to block the frog splash. Black with elbows and Rollins with kicks on the apron. Black with a kick that sends Rollins into the ring post and to the floor. Black with a moonsault off the ring post onto Rollins as we go to commercial.

We are back and Rollins knocks Black off the turnbuckles and Rollins with a frog splash but Rollins takes his time to cover Black so Black is able to kick out. Black says this is for Rey when he goes for Black Out but he misses. Black with an arm bar but Rollins escapes and hits a power bomb. Black with a knee to the head as Rollins comes off the turnbuckles. Black lifts Rollins up and Murphy and Theory get on the apron. Carrillo stops Theory and Murphy. Murphy and Theory attack Carrillo while Rollins gets a near fall with a rollup. Black with a rollup for the three count.

Winner: Aleister Black

After the match, Murphy and Theory go after Black. Carrillo gets into the ring to help Black. Rollins, Murphy, and Theory are too much for Black and Carrillo. Rollins with Black Out while Murphy and Theory hold Black to watch. Rollins asks Black if he wants to be a hero. Rollins with Black Out to Aleister.

– We have a video package for Apollo Crews.

Backstage:

Charly Caruso is in the back and she is joined by Angel Garza and Zelina Vega. We take a look at Angel’s victory over Kevin Owens last week.

Zelina says that Kevin Owens agreed to that match, and Angel cuts off Zelina. He says in love and war, everything is fair. In matters of competition and seduction, you must be one step ahead. Zelina says the win was triumphant because Angel saw what he wanted and he took it. Angel says if someone is not happy with his actions, they haven’t wanted something as badly as he does. Charly thanks Angel for his time and Angel thanks Charly. Angel gives Charly a rose and then Zelina destroys it.

– Still to come, WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels talks Edge vs. Randy Orton. Back to commercial.

– Back from the break and we get a video for Randy Orton vs. WWE Hall of Famer Edge at WWE Backlash. WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels provides comments on the match and picks The Rated R Superstar to win.

– We see what happened between Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley last week.

Backstage:

MVP and Lana are in the back and Lana is telling MVP this is her husband. MVP says unlike Lana, he has actual work to do and get ready for his match with the WWE Champion. He does not want to get into whatever attention sucking drama. Lana calls MVP a leech for using her Bobby to further his career. MVP says if that was true, doesn’t that make two of us? Lana stares at MVP for a moment and then slaps him and walks away. Back to commercial.

– We are back with a look at Seth’s talk about the Greater Good of Rey Mysterio’s retirement.

In the Arena:

U.S. Champion Apollo Crews makes his way to the ring. Kayla Braxton congratulates Apollo on his victory last week and she asks what his first week as champion has been. He has deal with humility and appreciation but he cannot believe that he is the champion. Kayla asks Apollo who his opponent will be tonight. Apollo says he has a long list of opponents he would like to face and his pick tonight is someone who deserves it and it is Kevin Owens.

Kevin congratulates Apollo and shakes his hand. Kevin says he appreciates the offer and he is not one to turn down title matches, especially when it has been so long since he had a title match. Kevin says it feels like it is coming out of pity after what happened last week. Apollo says this is all about respect. Kevin says Angel will get what is coming to him so if this is about respect. He tells Apollo he feels bad. Apollo asks why does he feel bad. Kevin says he deserves it for everything he has done over the last five years. He feels bad because your first title reign will be so short.

United States Championship: Kevin Owens vs. Apollo Crews

They fist bump before locking up and Owens with a waist lock. Crews with a standing switch and Owens with a standing switch as well. Owens holds on to the ropes on an O’Connor Roll attempt. Crews with a drop kick for a near fall. Crews with a side head lock. Owens with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Owens with a drop kick after Crews kips up. Owens clotheslines Crews over the top rope to the floor. Owens teases a dive and Crews moves out of the way. Owens goes to the floor. Crews goes for a moonsault off the apron but Owens moves and Crews lands on his feet. Owens with a cannonball off the apron.

Owens goes up top and hits a swanton for a near fall. Crews misses a kick and Owens with a kick to the midsection. Crews holds his groin and the referee checks on Crews. Crews with a punch and Owens and Crews go back and forth with punches as they go to the floor.

We go to commercial.

Back from the break and they’re trading big strikes in the middle of the ring. Crews unloads. Owens headbutts him. Owens runs into a boot. Crews with a powerslam for a close 2 count. Owens blocks an Olympic Slam. Owens levels Crews with a big superkick for another close pin attempt. Owens jumps to the second rope and nails a moonsault for another close 2 count.

Crews dodges the Pop-Up Powerbomb again, then hits an enziguri. Crews with the Olympic Slam for a close 2 count. Crews with a standing moonsault for another close 2 count in the middle of the ring. Crews with a big running splash in the corner. Crews backs up and runs again, nailing another splash. Owens is still standing. Crews runs and misses this time. Owens drops him with a superkick. Owens goes to the top for the senton but Crews gets his knees up and Owens lands hard.

Angel Garza and Andrade suddenly rush the ring with Zelina Vega right behind them. The referee calls the match.

No Contest

After the bell, Garza and Andrade send Crews and Owens to the floor as Vega joins them in the ring. They stand tall and are all smiles as the crowd boos them. Back to commercial.

Kevin Owens and Apollo Crews vs. Andrade and Angel Garza

The match is joined in progress and Crews with a shoulder tackle. Andrade and Crews exchange punches. Garza distracts Crews and Andrade kicks Crews. Garza tags in and he punches Crews and applies a side head lock. Crews backs Garza into the corner but Garza moves. Crews goes to the turnbuckles and Garza with a drop kick. Garza removes his pants and throws them at Owens. Garza with a front face lock. Andrade tags in and he kicks Crews and hits a running boot. Crews with a chop and Andrade with forearms. Garza tags in and he kicks Crews in the leg. Garza gets a near fall. Garza sets for a butterfly suplex and Crews escapes. Owens tags in and Garza tags in Andrade.

Garza with a thumb to Owens’ eyes and Andrade with kicks. Andrade with a single leg crab. Owens with a punch and reverse atomic drop and clothesline. Owens with a back senton and then Owens sets for a cannonball but Garza distracts Owens. Andrade with a kick to the back of the head and Crews tags in. Andrade with a suplex and he holds on and rolls through but Crews counters into an Olympic Slam. Garza hits Owens from behind to knock him off the apron. Crews with a drop kick through the ropes. Andrade with a rollup for a near fall. Crews with a toss power bomb for the three count.

Winners: Kevin Owens and Apollo Crews

– Kayla is backstage with Asuka now. She’s confident about beating Nia Jax at Backlash and regarding Charlotte Flair tonight, she says Asuka is always better while Flair stays the same. The Empress never bows down to anyone. She walks off.

– Still to come, a game of bowling between The Viking Raiders and The Street Profits. Back to commercial.

– It’s time for the bowling battle between RAW Tag Team Champions The Street Profits and The Viking Raiders. They’re at a local bowling alley with lots of comedy. The same woman from the past two segments appears, the one who keeps giving Ivar a pass because he’s cute, but doesn’t think Erik is cute. Midnight bowling hits and The Profits step it up. Angelo Dawkins calls it “smoke season” as they taunt The Vikings. Erik sends a ball down the alley with Ivar attached to it. Strike. The Vikings win to tie their non-wrestling feud up at 2-2.

– We see what happened last week between The IIconics and WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross.

Billie Kay vs. Nikki Cross

We go back to the ring and The IIconics’ music hits but the camera cuts backstage to the two teams arguing. WWE Producer Adam Pearce appears and gets in between them. We go to commercial.

Cross with a cross body and she slams Billie’s head into the mat. Nikki sends Billie into the turnbuckles. Nikki with a head butt to the midsection followed by a drop kick for a near fall. Billie with a boot to the head for a near fall. Billie gets another near fall. Nikki with a roll up for a near fall. Nikki with forearms but she runs into a forearm from Billie and Billie gets a near fal. Billie with a rear chin lock. Nikki with an elbow but Billie with a knee and back breaker. Billie takes time to pose before hitting an elbow drop for a near fall. Billie argues with the referee and then does her best Emilio Estevez in Breakfast Club impression.

Nikki with forearms and a flying clothesline. Nikki with a splash into the corner followed by a bulldog. Nikki goes to the apron and connects with a shoulder and she kicks Billie to the mat. Nikki goes up top and misses a cross body when Billie moves. Billie with a sit out spinebuster for the three count.

Winner: Billie Kay

Backstage:

Drew McIntyre is in the back and Charly wants to ask him a few questions and Drew says he was expecting Charly. Drew says he does not back down from challenges. He loves challenges. He says if MVP wants to take another Claymore. He is okay with giving a Claymore to Lashley. Drew says if anyone wants to step up to Drew McIntyre, he will line them up and give them a one way trip to Claymore Country.

We go to commercial.

Via Satellite:

We are back and Rey Mysterio joins Tom, Byron, and Joe via satellite.

Rey says his eye is still recovering and he does not know when he will or may return. It depends on how fast he can recover. Rey says if an infection sets in, it could be the end of his career.

Joe brings up the retirement ceremony from earlier tonight and Joe asks if Rey is retiring. Rey says he does not know. He says he might be cleared to compete in a few weeks or it may never happen. Rey says it is an answer he does not know now, but it is a question he has been thinking about.

Joe asks about the ceremony from earlier tonight. Rey says that Seth carries a lot of negativity and that can be a burden. To say that he was chosen as a sacrifice? Seth chose him and attacked him. Dominic shows up and says that Seth is not a messiah. He isn’t even a human being. He says someone from this family has to do something about it. He tries to end your career and now he says that he had to do it. Dominic says it is a bunch of BS. Rey says he wants to thank everyone for their concern. It means the world to him and his family. Rey says you are looking for a statement about that ceremony.

Rey tells Seth DAMN you for everything you have put him and his family through. They all helplessly watched as you pushed his eye into the steps as blood ran down your face. They saw the man who provides for them suffer. How can you go around and say that he cried like a baby when the cold steel met his flesh. Rey says he is a man of forgiveness but he will never forgive Seth for what he did.

Rey leaves the room and Dominic tells Seth you are a man of scripture and an eye for an eye.

In the Arena:

Nia Jax says she did not start this. She has been repeatedly attacked by Asuka and Kairi. Do not believe the hype. They are not what they seem. It is all smoke and mirrors, just like Asuka’s championship. She didn’t earn it. She was gifted it because of hormones. Becky felt so guilty that she couldn’t wrestle that she gifted it to you. Nia says now she is the aggressor in this but she is the victim. She will show Asuka as the backstabbing charlatan that she is. Back to commercial.

– We are back with a look at the 24/7 Title situation.

We go to Foxborough, Massachusetts where Rob Gronkowski is getting ready for a Tik Tok video. There is a gardener in the yard who might or might not be R Truth. His friend is in a referee’s shirt and Truth gets a rollup for a three point.

Nia Jax vs. Kairi Sane

Kairi with forearms and then Nia pats Kairi on the top of the head. Kairi with a forearm and Nia with a shoulder tackle while Asuka encourages Kairi from the back. Nia tosses Kairi by the hair and then Kairi with a sleeper. Nia falls to her knees but Nia is able to escape. Kairi with axe kicks to Nia. Kairi with a spinning back fist and then Kairi goes up top and Nia stops her with a head butt. Nia picks up Kairi but Kairi counters with a DDT for a near fall. Kairi sets up for the Sliding D and hits it. Kairi goes up top but Nia goes to the floor.

Kairi goes for a baseball slide and Nia stops her and then slam her head into the apron. Nia tosses Kairi face first into the ring steps. Nia with a leg drop for the three count.

Winner: Nia Jax

After the match, Asuka comes to the ring and she gets in Nia’s face. Jax leaves the ring.

– We take a look at what Edge said last week to Randy Orton.

Randy Orton is standing in the back as we go to commercial.

Backstage:

We are back and Randy Orton is still in the back. He says for the past few months, he has woken up, had some coffee, and caught up on the WWE Network. He has been watching the Last Ride, 360, 24, and even Ride Along. Everyone thinks Ric Flair is the greatest ever. Randy says he agrees. Last week, he saw Ric Flair on Raw, and Ric said in his opinion Randy Orton is the best to lace up the boots. Randy tells Edge you said the same. You know what else you said? Two weeks ago, you told me I didn’t have a passion for the business and that I was handed everything and did it for the paycheck. You said I was complacent. You are right.

You can’t stand that in twenty years I have phoned it in and half assed it and I have accomplished more than anyone in the locker room. You scratched and clawed and pretended to be the heroes from your childhood. I just had to come in and lace up my boots to prove I am the best. At Backlash, I will prove that I am better than you. I set the bait and you bit. Now your storybook ending will be rewritten by the three most destructive letters in sports entertainment. RKO!

Charlotte Flair makes her way to the ring as we go to commercial.

Champion versus Champion Match – Charlotte Flair vs. Asuka

Charlotte Flair is in the ring and she tells everyone to respect their NXT Champion. She says she will defend her title in a Triple Threat Match against Io Shirai and Rhea Ripley. Those two women are who you aspiring NXT superstars want to be. You share the gym, the locker room, and this performance center. She says she wants you to be the next Rhea Ripley or Io Shirai. She wants you to stand up to the throne so you can bow down.

Speaking of bowing down, she knows a woman who has a history of bowing down. That is the Raw women’s champion, Asuka. Asuka was the first Royal Rumble winner, the longest reigning champion, and a Grand Slam Champion. It seems like the Empress wants to be like the queen. Asuka makes her way to the ring and we are ready for the fight!

They lock up and Charlotte with a wrist lock. Asuka with a reversal and Asuka goes for the Asuka lock but Charlotte floats over and Asuka escapes. Charlotte misses a boot and she pushes Asuka. Charlotte with a boot and she sends Asuka into the turnbuckles. Charlotte with a forearm. Charlotte with chops. Asuka with an Irish whip and she misses a hip attack into the corner. Charlotte with a punch and a knee drop to the leg in the ropes. Charlotte puts the leg in the ropes.

Charlotte works on the leg and connects with forearms. Charlotte gets a near fall. Charlotte works on the knee and uses the ropes for extra leverage. Asuka with a rollup for a near fall. Charlotte dives at the knee and Charlotte with knees to the hamstring. Asuka with an elbow and Charlotte with forearms and punches. Charlotte misses a knee to the leg and Charlotte with a punch to Asuka. Charlotte pie faces Asuka and Asuka with forearms to Charlotte. Charlotte blocks a back fist and connects with a boot to the knee.

Asuka with a round kick and Charlotte goes down. Asuka with a hip attack into the corner and Asuka with a German suplex. Asuka with a Shining Wizard for a near fall. Charlotte goes for Natural Selection but Asuka counters into a arm bar and then a triangle. Charlotte with forearms and she turns it into a Boston Crab. Asuka with a rollup for a near fall. Charlotte goes for a knee bar but Asuka escapes. Charlotte picks up Asuka and hits a deadlift German suplex.

Charlotte misses a boot and gets caught in the ropes. Asuka with a shot to the midsection and then Asuka with a rolling arm bar submission. Asuka turns it into a triangle. The referee checks the shoulders while Asuka has the triangle applied. Charlotte picks up Asuka and hits a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Charlotte with a boot to knock Asuka off the apron.

Asuka’s music hits and out comes Nia Jax mocking Asuka, wearing one of her masks. Asuka walks up the ramp and gets counted out.

Winner by Count Out: Charlotte Flair

Asuka turns back to look at the referee, then turns right back around to a big clothesline on the ramp from Jax. The trainees boo Jax. Jax stands over Asuka and drops the mask over her. Jax, with Asuka’s face paint under her eyes, stares down as her music plays.

Backstage:

Charly Caruso is with Lana. Charly asks about MVP’s match with Drew McIntyre and Lana’s relationship with MVP and we see what happened earlier on Raw. Charly asks if it was Bobby’s idea to keep her from ringside or was it MVP’s idea? Lana says she is not sure. She says she is certain it wasn’t her Bobby’s idea. Lana says her Bobby requested she not go out to the ring during his matches, but never said anything about MVP’s matches. Lana chortles as she walks away. We go to commercial.

Drew McIntyre vs. MVP

Back from the break and out first comes Bobby Lashley. MVP is out next for tonight’s non-title main event. MVP greets Lashley as he enters the ring. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre is out next for a pop. Before the match, Lana makes her way to the ring.

Drew with punches and chops. MVP with punches but Drew with more punches. Drew with chops as he looks at Lashley. MVP with an Irish whip and Drew blocks a hip toss and clotheslines MVP. Drew with a head butt and MVP goes to the floor. Drew goes to the floor and Lashley comes up behind Drew and that distraction allows MVP to send Drew into the ring post and the plexiglass. MVP with a Yakuza Kick for a near fall. MVp with a kick and Drew with a clothesline and boot to the head.

Drew goes up top and he hits a chop to the head. Drew sets for the Claymore and Lashley pulls MVP to the floor. Drew with a flip dive onto MVP and Lashley. Drew sends MVP into the ring and he hits the Claymore for the three count.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

After the bell, Lashley immediately hits the ring before Drew can get to his feet from the pin. Lashley applies the Full Nelson to Drew and manhandles him in the middle of the ring for a few seconds. RAW goes off the air with Drew still stuck in the Full Nelson.
