Comicbook reports that WWE has brought back former 90s host Todd Pettengill for this Sunday’s TakeOver: In Your House.
As per the report, “WWE released a special teaser video for this Sunday’s NXT TakeOver: In Your House event on Friday, featuring a distinctive mid-90s retro feel and the return former WWF backstage interviewer Todd Pettengill.”
Pettengill worked with the company from 1993 to 1997 and was apart of the very first In Your House event on May 14, 1995. This is what Pettengill said on the teaser video, which you can also see below
“Hey everybody this is Todd Pettengill, and we are just days away from having a house party that would make Kid ‘n Play jealous. This Sunday, as the doors to our house remain temporarily closed, the Superstars of NXT take over your house with an event 25 years in the making.”
Pettengill’s involvement is not expected to be limited to this promo video, as he is expected to be involved in some additional capacity on Sunday during the PPV.
Triple H indicated on Thursday’s media call that there could be some “fun” retro elements and history pieces at Takeover to go with the theme of the show, and that “Takeover: In Your House” could be an annual event.
