WWE has announced there will be a tribute to The Undertaker on this week’s Friday Night SmackDown.
Undertaker and AJ Styles’ Boneyard Match from WrestleMania 36 will air during the special tribute.
As previously noted, WWE will have to rewrite this week’s SmackDown on the heels of the multiple positive COVID-19 tests. Several wrestlers will not be able to appear on the show so WWE will have time to fill.
This was not in the original plans for the show and this was a late addition because of the positive tests affecting the availability of certain performers.
As of this writing, there is nothing else announced for SmackDown. WWE’s original plans were to tape last week but COVID-19 tests arriving later than expected forced WWE to change plans and the show was scheduled to be taped tomorrow afternoon. It is unclear right now which wrestlers will be available for the show.
With the @WWEUniverse still buzzing over @WWENetwork‘s #TheLastRide, #SmackDown will feature a special “Tribute To The Undertaker” tomorrow night.#ThankYouTaker @undertaker https://t.co/Q5TqsGoCph— WWE (@WWE) June 26, 2020
