The New Day Talk George Floyd and Racial Injustice

The New Day Discuss George Floyd and Racial Injustice
On their podcast, The New Day addressed racial injustice and everything that has happened in the country since the murder of George Floyd.

Here are some highlights from the podcast:

Big E talking about George Floyd: “I keep putting myself in George Floyd’s position. When I saw him being murdered like that. To have a man put a knee on his neck, I don’t know how you don’t feel empathy like that who is accused of passing a counterfeit $20 bill. He didn’t deserve to die like that. We can’t be OK with murdering us. This is not the first time, this is not the second time and we have seen it. I’ve seen and heard these stories from my parents, and their parents and their parents before them. I can’t accept living in a country where this is acceptable where it takes two days to get an arrest for this man. There was video tape that was clear as day. That bothers me. That hurts me to my very core, to my very soul.”

Kofi Kingston: “That’s the scary thing about these situations. It could very well have been any of us. The fact that everytime I go out by myself, or I go out with my family, in the back of my mind, there is always a thought of, man, am I going to be next? What if somebody pulls over and decides to harm me in some way. What am I going to do. I’ll leave the house and I’ll have a plan of action in the event that something might happen. We shouldn’t have to live like that. No one should have to live like that, looking over their shoulder in fear or worry that harm may come.”
