Edge Reportedly Suffers Serious Injury During WWE Backlash Match (UPDATED)

Edge Reportedly Suffers Serious Injury During WWE Backlash Match
WWE Hall of Famer Edge was reportedly injured during the taping of "The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" with Randy Orton, which aired during tonight's WWE Backlash pay-per-view.

Edge reportedly suffered a torn triceps when the match was taped back on Sunday, June 7, according to F4Wonline.com. The news was first reported by Fightful.

There's no timetable on Edge's return as of now but a torn triceps usually requires around 8 months or so of recovery time and surgery.

The injury, like the finish to the match, was kept quiet through WWE until it was leaked today.

This is obviously another big blow for WWE because they are already without three big stars: Roman Reigns, Becky Lynch, and Bray Wyatt. Reigns is out due to coronavirus concerns, Lynch is out due to her pregnancy and Wyatt has been out so he could be home with his newborn baby.

Edge was one of the big names that was scheduled for SummerSlam in August and there was talk that he would wrestle Randy Orton in one final match on that show. The triceps injury means WWE will have to come up with alternate plans for Orton.
