WWE RAW Results - May 18, 2020
We start off tonight's show with a look back at Becky Lynch's announcement of her pregnancy and need to surrender the title. The whole segment was shown.

Charly Caruso is in the ring and she mentions Randy Orton's challenge to Edge from last week and she mentions that it could be the greatest match ever. Charly brings out Randy Orton.

Charly asks Randy to explain the challenge he made.

Randy asks if straight up match is that hard to understand. Wrestling is the basis of this company. We come into this ring for the chance to be part of Wrestlemania. We had a match at Wrestlemania in this building. On that night, Edge was the better man. Randy says he knows that beyond the shadow of a doubt, Edge knows he is not the better wrestler. Randy says he does not need chairs, tables, or anything else to win. He just needs a referee and a ring. Randy says that no one can do what he does in the ring like he does, not even Edge.

Randy tells Edge he knows why you didn't accept my challenge last Monday on Raw. Randy says he saw it written on Edge's face and he saw it in Edge's eyes. He saw doubt. Your grit and passion has faded away. It is gone and what once was grit and passion is now just doubt. and fear.

Edge's music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

Edge tells Randy you spoke a lot of truths last week and it gave him a lot to chew on and contemplate. You are playing a game of chess, so Edge says he can't rush into the next move. That is all it is to you. It is a game. You stand there with your stupid smug smirk. It is just a paycheck to you. You are probably the most talented person he has seen in a wrestling ring, but this isn't the life you wanted, it was the life you were handed. It was your backup plan. You are different than everyone else in the locker room because you don't care. You didn't go to bed every night dreaming of being WWE Champion, LIKE I DID. You didn't save your money to go to a show, LIKE I DID. You didn't cry when you won the Intercontinental Championship.

Edge says he beat Randy for that title in 2004 and it was one of his favorite matches. Edge says their skills have changed since then. Randy starts to talk and Edge cuts him off and says you didn't have a career ending injury and miss nine years. Randy wants to know if Edge will accept his challenge. We are back and Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring to address his followers.

Seth says sometimes in life you have to lose who you are to truly find yourself. When I lost to Drew McIntyre at Money in the Bank, part of me believed that I had lost everything. I fell into a dark place. A place so dark I wasn't sure if I would ever escape. But without darkness, there can be no light. I have seen the light and I have seen it brighter than I have ever seen it before. It is all due to one man. It is due to Rey Mysterio. What happened to Rey Mysterio has been described by some as 'heinous' and 'digsusting' and 'unforgiveable'. It has been described by others as an act of pennence paid to him for his disbelief in the Monday Night Messiah. Seth says he does not see it that way.

What happened to Rey Mysterio was unfortunate, but necessary. A sacrifice for the greater good (the greater good). A sign to show what kind of leader he can be. Seth says he wants to talk to Rey directly. Seth says he knows that Rey is at home healing. Rey can't see it now but you will see that this is a blessing in disguise. From the bottom of my heart, so when we meet face to face again and it does not have to be said, Rey Mysterio... you're welcome.

Humberto Carrillo's music plays and he comes out and asks if anyone believes that you care about Rey. Rey is a hero to millions and he is his idol. All you are is a coward.

Humberto gets into the ring but Buddy stands between Humberto and Seth.

Seth says he respects Humberto for standing up for the honor of your idol, Rey Mysterio, but if you are here to fight him, Seth says he is not dressed for the occasion. Seth says his disciple has a match later tonight against Aleister Black, but he is dressed for the occasion. If it is a fight you want, his disciple would be happy to oblige.
