Many fans were surprised when WWE called up the Forgotten Sons from NXT to SmackDown.
It turns out that WWE was forced to make changes to the storyline involving the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. It all came down to The Usos being pulled from the storyline as Jimmy Uso suffered a knee injury.
Dave Meltzer noted on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio that Wesley Blake, Steve Cutler, and Jaxson Ryker were brought up to the main roster to replace The Usos in the storyline.
Up until they were called up to the main roster, WWE hadn’t done much with the NXT group on television.
As noted, Jimmy is expected to be on the sidelines for 6-9 months. A new report surfaced on Sunday that noted that WWE officials still don’t know what they intend to do with Jey now that his brother is on the sidelines. For more on that, click here.
WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. The Miz & John Morrison vs. The Forgotten Sons vs. Lucha House Party in a Fatal 4-Way Match will take place at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view event this Sunday.
