AEW Dynamite Results - May 13, 2020

Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone and The Excalibur welcome us to this week’s show.

We hear the theme of “The Murderhawk Monster” playing and out comes Lance Archer and Jake “The Snake” Roberts. Archer attacks an innocent bystander, as usual, as he heads to the ring.

While they finish up their ring entrance, highlights are shown from last week of Jake and Lance putting the snake on Brandi Rhodes after Dr. Britt Baker attacked her.

Jake gets on a mic and says as soon as Brandi kisses his ass, he’ll give the apology everyone is demanding of him after his actions last week. He says a woman’s place is at home cleaning babies, not getting near the squared circle.

As the pro wrestling legend continues to talk, we hear a loud engine rev’ing up. Out of nowhere, we see Cody bursting through the barricade at Daily’s Place with his Ford pickup truck.

“What the hell man?” questions Jake out-loud as Cody gets out of his truck with violent intentions. Archer meets him half way and as he approaches Cody, Jake tells him “finish him off if you’re gonna do this.”

Cody and Lance meet in the middle with punches flying. Cody takes Lance down and turns to go after Jake. As soon as he takes his eyes off Lance, he is attacked from behind by him. They brawl to the ring, with Cody continuing to come to life everytime it seems Lance has him down.

Once in the ring, Cody smashes a chair in his face, but Lance no-sells it and charges at him with a big boot. Jake tells Cody on the mic that he’s in their world. Finally, as Cody pops back to life again, Jake tells Lance, “Not now…” and the two retreat as Jake calls Cody a “punk” while they head through the tunnel to the backstage area.

The announcers run down the action in store for tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite before kicking it to a vignette looking in-depth at the current landscape in the All Elite Wrestling tag-team division.

He goes on to address Jungle Boy, who he tells he is excited to face at AEW Double Or Nothing 2. He says he’s got a little ring rust, however, and says he felt a little stiff in the ring. He asks Johnson if he was stiff, alluding to hitting him with some solid shots tonight. Maxwell Jacob Friedman goes on to mention noticing in the back that Marko Stunt has an open contract for a match. Apparently that is now set, seemingly for next week. He heads to the back as the announcers plug Chris Jericho vs. “Pinneapple Pete” Suge D. up next. We head to another commercial break on that note.

Jericho says that they are going to give The Elite a chance to get their shit together and face them one more time. He says while the world reacts to the Coronavirus, the Inner Circle interacts. He says they have created the Stadium Stampede Match. He says that if you thought their Street Fight was wild and whooly just wait until you see what the Inner Circle does to the Elite insdie a football stadium. He challenges The Elite to that match at Double or Nothing.

He says they’ll wait for their response. Eventually some music plays and out comes the drone known as Vanguard. The drone flies to the ring and Jericho talks to it like it’s a real person, until addressing The Elite, whom he knows is watching via the camera attached to Vanguard.

Jericho goes on to introduce Floyd, a baseball bat, which he uses to smash Vanguard. The Inner Circle deliver a gang-style beat down on a drone. They go way further than need be, taking apart the little wires remaining after its’ smashed to bits, and then flipping off the remaining pieces.

Finally, Matt Hardy charges out to the ring, limping to sell the affect of his battle earlier in the show, before reacting to the broken drone like he saw a member of his family die. He rolls around in sadness with what remains of Vanguard as Chris Jericho’s music plays again while The Inner Circle smile with pleasure at the dastardly act they just pulled off. We head to commercial on that note.

It was announced that boxing legend “Iron” Mike Tyson will be appearing at the AEW Double Or Nothing 2 pay-per-view to present the new TNT Championship to the winner of the tournament to crown the first-ever title-holder between finalists Cody and Lance Archer.

“The Exalted One” Mr. Brodie Lee vs. Christopher Daniels

From there, we return inside the arena where we get ready for our next contest of the evening here at AEW Dynamite. The action continues as “The Exalted One” Mr. Brodie Lee of The Dark Order makes his way out, as does Christopher Daniels of SoCal Uncensored.

The Dark Order leader battles the SCU member in our next match of the evening. From the word “go” it is all Brodie Lee, outside of Daniels hitting a couple of high-risk moves. Brodie Lee takes back over control of the action and is dominating again with ease as we head to a mid-match commercial.

We return from the break and Lee is still in control with ease until after a lazy pin attempt, which J.R. criticizes, Daniels finally shows signs of life, getting in some decent offense. As a Dark Order member brings a chair into the picture, the attempt to cheat is thwarted by the other members of SCU at ringside, as well as Colt Cabana, who runs out to provide an assist.

Daniels ends up blasting Lee with the chair instead. Daniels hits the Angels Wings and covers him, but Lee kicks out at the count of one with ease and smiles while staring at the camera with his eyes wide open. Daniels hits The Best Moonsault Ever for a two count. This is by far the most we have seen Brodie Lee deal with adversity.

Finally, a Discuss Lariat closes the deal for Mr. Brodie Lee. He scores the pin and stares at the camera with wide eyes once again.

Winner: Mr. Brodie Lee

After the match, the fun begins, as we see Jon Moxley making his way to the ring from the backstage area. He enters the arena and charges to the ring, ready to do battle with all of The Dark Order members in it.

Mr. Brodie Lee throws his men in front of him to avoid the onslaught of the crazed AEW World Champion. Moxley takes the gang out and they retreat to the back.

Moxley gets on the mic and promises that Brodie Lee has made a mistake that he is going to pay for — with interest. He says there will be a hail storm of violence at AEW Double Or Nothing 2 on May 23rd and afterwards, Mr. Brodie Lee may find that his AEW career is over before it even gets started.

He drops the mic, his music plays and he throws a laid out member of The Dark Order over the ring barricade. J.R. promotes next week’s show and Shaq Life, which is coming up next on TNT.
