Why Lana Was Not at RAW, Update on Rusev, More

We noted yesterday that that Matt Riddle and Bianca Belair were in Brooklyn and could appear on the show.

They were in Brooklyn but there were no plans for them to appear on the show. Riddle was in Brooklyn for other reasons and Belair was there to support her husband, Montez Ford, who won the Raw Tag Team Championships along with partner Angelo Dawkins.

Rusev has been backstage at some RAW shows in recent weeks and he was there last night but not used. Meanwhile, Lana was not backstage at Raw because she is currently filming a movie. Her new WWE contract allows her to take time off for outside projects. The word making the rounds backstage at RAW is that Rusev has not signed a new deal. At this point, there is no match scheduled for him or Lashley at WrestleMania although they could be inserted into the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal.

PWInsider reported that Mansoor and Vanessa Bourne were also backstage last night and Mick Foley was in the area to film content for a community outreach program. Foley is trying to raise awareness about autism. He appeared on Busted Open Radio earlier today.
