WWE RAW Results (2/03) - Salt Lake City, UT

We are live from the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah, as Byron Saxton, Jerry Lawler, and Tom Phillips welcome us to the show.

We take a look at what happened last week with Edge after Randy Orton attacked him. We then see Edge’s comments earlier in the night.

After the long video, Randy Orton makes his way to the ring. We are told that Edge is at home waiting to start his recovery and he is waiting for the result from the tests done on him.

Orton takes his time getting into the ring and slowly leans on the ropes. Fans start booing louder. A “you suck!” chant starts up. Orton enters the ring and leans on the top rope in the corner, taking it all in and thinking. The boos continue. Orton slowly stands on the second turnbuckle and looks out at the crowd. He hops back down and continues slowly walking to the other continue. Orton says he guesses he owes everyone an apology. The boos get louder. You see, the thing… Orton keeps stopping as the boos drown him out. Fans chant “Edge!” now. Orton stops and starts to talk again but a “you suck!” chant shuts him down.

Orton says he can’t… he can’t do this. He puts the mic down and exits the ring as the crowd gets louder. He stops at ringside to think about it all again. Orton walks off to the back now, exiting to the side instead of going backstage through the stage. The boos continue.

– Tom leads us to a video package on what happened between Drew McIntyre and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, and Drew’s big win in the 30-Man Rumble main event. Tom plugs their WrestleMania 36 match and says Drew could have a different opponent because of tonight’s Triple Threat to determine Lesnar’s challenger at WWE Super ShowDown – RAW Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins vs. Ricochet vs. Bobby Lashley. Also tonight – The Viking Raiders and Kevin Owens vs. RAW Tag Team Champion Buddy Murphy and AOP in an Elimination Match.

– We go to the ring and out first comes Lana. No sign of Bobby Lashley. Back to commercial.

Lana vs. Liv Morgan

Lana falls down and ‘hurts’ her wrist. Lana sends Liv into the ropes and then to the mat. Lana wtih a round kick for a near fall. Lana with a chin lock. Liv with punches and Lana sends Liv to the mat. Liv with a clothesline into the ropes followed by a flatliner for the three count.

Winner: Liv Morgan

After the match, Liv stands tall and celebrates until the music interrupts. Out comes the returning Ruby Riott, who has been out of action since having double shoulder surgery back in May. They’re all smiles while fans chant “Ruby!” as she enters the ring. They go to hug but Ruby drops Liv and then unloads on her. Lana is all smiles at what’s happening. Ruby takes advantage of the distraction and drops Liv from behind again. Ruby heads to the back, stopping to turn back around and smile at the ring. Lana picks Liv back up and drives her into the mat. Lana continues to scream while backing up the ramp as a furious Liv recovers in the ring.

– We are back with a look at photos of the weather in Salt Lake City.

Drew McIntyre vs. Mojo Rawley

Drew McIntyre makes his way to the ring. A pop from the crowd in favor of McIntyre. Rawley, holding his 24/7 championship is smiling in the ring. The fans chant “Drew” as he grabs a microphone and thanks everyone for fighting the blizzard and making it to Raw. He tells Mojo as soon as he puts the microphone down, three seconds later, he will Claymroe his head off to which the fans cheer.

Drew wants to talk about Brock Lesnar. He says in the clip from last week, Brock attacked him from behind. And that’s just fine with him because that tells him Lesnar is apprehensive of the sexy Scotsman. He knows he is just as big, fast and he has a secret weapon which knocked him out of the Rumble, the Claymore. And come Wrestlemania he’s going to kick that oversized head off his body and he will finally be WWE champion. The fans cheer. Drew jokes and says he forgot Mojo was there. He says three seconds.

The bell rings as Rawley is putting away his 24/7 championship. Drew hits him with the Claymore. McIntyre goes for the cover and gets the pin in less than three seconds.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

Backstage:

Charly Caruso is backstage with Buddy Murphy and AOP. She asks them about their strategy for tonight. Murphy says as far as they are concerned, they already won tonight’s match and are with The Monday Night Messiah. In comes Seth Rollins. He says tonight is a huge match for them and to prepare as he has this. They leave the scene with Seth staying.

Caruso asks him about his triple threat match tonight. Rollins says life has a funny way of working itself out. Just when you think all is lost, it comes through. Last week he was thrown out of the Rumble and this week he finds himself with a second chance. He says he has beaten Brock Lesnar twice, taken Lesnar’s title twice and he knows McIntyre has his heart set at facing Lesnar at Wrestlemania but the writing is on the wall for him. He needs to start preparing for a new Wrestlemania opponent. He needs to start preparing for the Monday night Messiah.

Kevin Owens makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.

Elimination Match: Kevin Owens and The Viking Raiders vs. Buddy Murphy and The Authors of Pain

Back from the break and out come The Viking Raiders – Erik and Ivar. RAW Tag Team Champion Buddy Murphy and The Authors of Pain, Akam and Rezar, are out next with RAW Tag Team Champion Seth Rollins leading them. Mike Rome does introductions and goes over the rules before the match.

Ivar and Murphy go at it to start the match. The Vikings with quick tags and double teaming on Murphy to start, dominating him. Erik slams Ivar on top of Murphy and The Vikings celebrate for a pop. An upset Rollins watches from ringside as we go back to commercial with Murphy down.

We are back and Buddy with a jaw breaker to Ivar and Rezar tags in. Rezar pushes Ivar away and then they exchange forearms. Ivar flips over Rezar’s back and he kicks Rezar. Erik tags in and Ivar and Erik with knees. Rezar with a clothesline out of the corner. Akam tags in and Rezar with a knee and Akam with punches. Buddy tags in and he runs into an elbow from Erik. Erik with more elbows but Buddy keeps Erik from making the tag. Buddy with kicks but Erik with a hip lock and knee. Ivar tags in and so does Akam. Ivar with a side slam and cross body. Ivar with punches and chops to Rezar. Ivar iwth a seated splash to Rezar. Ivar with a cartwheel and clothesline. Buddy is lifted up and Ivar with a springboard clothesline as Erik hits a German suplex.

Ivar with a suicide dive and Erik with a suicide dive of his own. Ivar misses a cross body and hits the LED board. Rollins with Black Out to Erik and Buddy pins Erik.

Erik Eliminated

Referees come down and check on Ivar and Ivar is sent to the back.

Ivar Eliminated

We go to commercial.

We are back and Owens goes after Rollins who is on the floor. Akam tags in and Owens with punches and Akam with a back elbow for a near fall. Buddy tags in and he applies a rear chin lock. Owens is sent to the floor by Buddy. Buddy with a fallaway slam into the ringside barrier. Murphy gets back into the ring and Owens with a boot. Buddy with a leg lariat and Buddy gets a near fall. Buddy with a front face lock and Rezar tags in. Owens with a kick and enzuigiri. Akam comes in and they hit a side slam and stomp combination but Owens kicks out. Akam with a boot to the ribs and a reverse chin lock. Owens with punches and Akam with a knee.

Buddy tags in and Owens with a DDT after a kick to the groin. Akam tags in and he Irish whips Owens. Owens with a foerarm to Rezar and a boot to Buddy. Owens with an elbow to Akam. Buddy sends Owens to the apron and Owens with a forearm to Buddy. Akam with a cannonball. Owens sends Rezar into the ring steps. Owens with a super kick to Buddy and then Owens goes up top for a swantong and Buddy gets his knees up. Buddy goes up top and misses a double stomp. Owens with a pop up power bomb to pin Buddy.

Buddy Murphy Eliminated

Akam with forearms and knees to Owens followed by punches. Owens with a kick and stunner to Akam for a three count.

Akam Eliminated

We are down to Rezar and Owens and Rollins gets on the apron. Rezar charges into the corner but Owens moves and he hits the ring post. Owens with two super kicks and a cannonball. Owens with a swanton for a near fall. Owens tries to get Rezar on his shoulders and Rollins gets on the apron to distract Owens. Rezar with a clothesline and a spinebuster. Rezar with a second spinebuster for the three count.

Winners: Buddy Murphy and The Authors of Pain

After the match, the AOP music hits as Rollins and Rezar march up the ramp. They’re greeted by Murphy and Akam on the stage. We go to replays. Rollins, Murphy, Akam and Rezar stand tall on the stage and raise their arms together. Owens recovers in the ring and looks on as they exit. Owens stands up in the middle of the ring now and receives an ovation from the crowd. He takes it all in and goes to leave.

Backstage:

Charly Caruso is in the back and she is with Ricochet. Ricochet is asked about the chance to face Brock Lesnar. He says it is the dream. Since he was 14 years old, he wanted to prove that he can be one of the best and tonight is that night. It might seem unrealistic for someone like him to get a title match. He isn’t as big and strong as Bobby Lashley and he doesn’t have a gang like Seth Rollins. Tonight is his night to prove that determination can outdo probability.

– Aleister Black makes his way to the ring as we go to commercial.

Aleister Black vs. Eric Young

Young runs Black into the turnbuckles and he kicks Black. The referee pulls Young out of the corner and Young with punches and elbows. Black with a leg sweep and knee to the midsection. Black blocks a forearm and connects with knees and a kick. Black with a kick to Young. Young with an elbow. Black with a jumping knee. Black pulls Young up for Black Mass and the three count.

Winner: Aleister Black

After the match, Black gets on the mic and he tells you to remember that when you were young and they told you that you could grow up to whatever you could be. Then you realized it was the opposite. Black says that is not authentic. He says he is a firm believer that people should be whoever they choose to be. That drives relentless competition.

The lights go down and Black sits in the center of the ring. He says when he knocks down the Raw locker room, no light will seep in. He will cast shadows from the black mass. While you are laying there, you will realize it was done by a person who was told he could be whatever he wanted to be.

– We see how Humberto Carrillo dropped WWE United States Champion Andrade on the concrete last week. Andrade is actually suspended for 30 days on his first violation of the WWE Wellness Policy, but Tom doesn’t acknowledge that.

– We go back to the ring and out comes Humberto Carrillo. Back to commercial.

In the Arena:

Zelina Vega says look who it is and she asks Humberto if he is surprised. Zelina asks the people if they know why Humberto is surprised. Nobody smart plays fair. Vulnerability is a liability and she found Humberto’s. When you mess with her business, she does not pay the price, you do. Standing next to her is not some hired hit man because you vicously DDTed Andrade on the concrete, it is much worse. Standing next to her is a former champion in NXT. Standing next to her is the hottest Latino prospect. Standing next to her is Humberto’s cousin.

Angel tells his cousin that he is the leader of their family so you answer to me. All you have done is been a disgrace not just to him but to all these people, their family, and to our Latinos.

Humberto takes the mic and he says that he is not a disgrace and Zelina slaps Humberto.

Garza with punches and then he mounts Humberto and slaps Humberto and chokes Humberto. Angel sets for the Wing Clipper and hits it. Humberto is sent to the floor and Garza with a sliding kick and then he sends Humberto into the ring steps. Zelina pulls up the mats. Angel picks up Humberto and sets for a hammer lock DDT but Rey Mysterio’s music plays and Angel lets go of Humberto and Angel and Zelina get into the ring.

Rey gets into the ring and we go to commercial.

Rey Mysterio vs. Angel Garza

The bell rings and Garza goes to the floor to get into Rey’s head. Garza avoids Rey when Rey tries to lock up. They lock up and Garza with a side head lock and take down. Rey with a head scissors and Garza gets to the ropes. Rey releases the hold. Garza goes for the leg but Rey avoids Garza and Rey with a side head lock. Garza stomps on the foot and then Rey avoids Garza coming off the ropes and Rey with a head scissors take down. Garza stops Rey and Garza gets on his knees and he offers his hand to Rey to shake. Rey thinks about it and he tells Garza he doesn’t think so. Garza removes his pants and throws them at Rey. Garza with kicks to Rey.

Garza misses a splash into the corner and Garza puts Rey on the turnbuckles. Garza puts Rey in the ropes and hits a drop kick to the chest. Garza shakes Rey’s hand while yelling at him to shake his hand. Garza puts Rey on the turnbuckles. Garza goes for the mask and then he puts Rey in the tree of woe. Garza with a running kick to the chest. Garza gets a near fall. Garza gets Rey up but Rey gets back to his feet. Rey with a kick and a leap frog head scissors that sends Garza into the ropes. Garza sends Rey to the apron and then Garza slides through the ropes and pulls Rey off the apron.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Rey with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker. Garza with a hard Irish whip sternum first. Garza puts Rey in the ropes and then he connects with a knee to the midsection. Garza goes up top and misses a moonsault. Rey with a victory roll for a near fall. Garza goes for a sunset flip and Rey rolls through because you don’t sunset flip Rey. Rey with a kick and he gets a near fall. Rey with a satellite DDT to Garza. Rey with a springboard seated splash but Garza with a knee. Garza gets a near fall.

Rey avoids the Wing Clipper and Rey with a Code Red followed by a drop kick to the back. Zelina pulls Garza off the ropes and the referee warns Zelina. Rey with a springboard senton onto Garza. Zelina yells at Rey and the distraction allows Garza to hit a super kick. Garza sends Rey into the ringside barrier and then Garza sets for the hammerlock DDT on the floor and the referee calls for the bell.

No Contest

After the match, fans boo as Vega and Garza stand tall on the outside. Some chant “you suck!” as we go to replays while Garza and Vega head to the ramp, stopping on the stage to turn around and taunt. We see referees checking on Rey as he lays on the exposed concrete.

– Still to come, Charlotte Flair is here to pick her WrestleMania 36 opponent.

– Back from the break and Tom talks again about the snow storm and shows us a crowd shot as the announcers talk about fans battling the blizzard to make it to RAW.

In the Arena:

Charlotte Flair makes her way to the ring. Charlotte points at the Wrestlemania sign. She says everyone wants to know who is she going to face at Wrestlemania. Will she challenge the Raw champion and face Becky Lynch? Will she challenge the Smackdown champion and face Bayley? She has already held the Raw title and has beaten Becky. She has already held the Smackdown title and has beaten Bayley. She comments on the crowd chanting for Rhea Ripley. Charlotte says she has held the title ten times and she wants all the gold.

Rhea Ripley‘s music plays and she makes her way to the ring.

Rhea tells Charlotte that you did win the Women’s Royal Rumble and you get to challenge for any title at Wrestlemania. You have already beaten Becky and you have already beaten Bayley. Do you know who you haven’t beaten? ME. As a matter of fact, Rhea says she has beaten Charlotte. If you are going to challenge for any title at Wrestlemania… well. Rhea holds up the title belt in front of Charlotte.

Charlotte smiles at Rhea and walks past Rhea. Charlotte starts to leave the ring and Rhea keeps her eye on Charlotte.

Backstage:

Sarah is in the back and she is with Bobby Lashley. Bobby is asked for his battleplan for tonight and he is asked if he is distracted by his wife’s loss. Bobby says they will have plenty to celebrate after he gets what he deserves. He will beat Seth Rollins and he will beat Ricochet. Bobby says after he lays waste to both of them, here is your spoiler. He will defeat Brock Lesnar at Super Showdown and he will go on to Wrestlemania. He will beat the Holy Hell out of Drew McIntyre at Wrestlemania.

Asuka vs. Natalya

Asuka and Kairi Sane make their way to the ring as we go to commercial.

Back from the break and out comes Natalya as Asuka and Sane look on. Natalya pays tribute to Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna by handing an arm band to a fan, with the Lakers colors.

They lock up and Natalya with a clean break. Asuka wants Natalya to back up. They lock up and Natalya with a side head lock take down and Asuka with a head scissors. Natalya with a wrist lock but Asuka with a hammer lock. Natalya with a fireman’s carry and arm bar. Asuka goes for a cross arm breaker but Natalya avoids it. Asuka with a side head lock and shoulder tackle. Natalya with a knee bar but Asuka turns it into a single leg crab. Natalya returns to the knee bar and Natalya backs Asuka into the ropes.

Natalya with a side head lock and Asuka with a hammer lock. Natalya gets to the ropes and Asuka with a break and then Asuka yells at the referee. Asuka misses a spinning back fist and Natalya with punches. Asuka goes for a German suplex and Natalya blocks it. Natalya with a spinning sit out power bomb for a near fall. Asuka avoids the Sharpshooter and goes to the floor.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Asuka with an arm bar. We see footage from the commercial break when Asuka connected on a round kick to the temple. Asuka sends Natalya to the mat. Asuka with kicks to the chest and then she sends Natalya face first into the mat. Natalya avoids a kick and gets a near fall with a rollup. Asuka with another kick. Asuka with an octopus. Natalya escapes the hold and Asuka with a sliding kick to the head for a near fall. Asuka tries to slap Natalya but Natalya blocks them. Asuka goes for a cross arm breaker and Natalya with forearms. Asuka with a guillotine on Natalya.but Natalya counters with a suplex.

Natalya with kicks and she catches Asuka on a hip attack attempt and Asuka counters with a near fall. Natalya with a near fall of her own. Natalya with a discus clothesline to Asuka. Natalya sets for the Sharpshooter and locks it in. Asuka gets to the ropes and hangs over the apron but Natalya refuses to release the hold. Natalya sends Asuka back into the ring and Kairi distracts Natalya and Asuka applies the Asuka Lock. Natalya taps out.

Winner: Asuka

After the match, Asuka gets on the mic and she calls out Becky Lynch. She says she wants a rematch for the Raw Women’s Championship.

Becky Lynch‘s music plays and she makes her way to the ring. Becky says after ducking her for a full year, you want to fight her again? Becky says it sounds interesting. She says beating Asuka at the Royal Rumble gave her super powers. She wants to drink from that fountain again. Then she thinks why would she put her title on the line so close to Wrestlemania. The only thing more fun than beating your ass once would be to do it again. Becky tells Asuka she is on.

Becky stops Kairi Sane from attacking her from behind and Becky says she has her super powers and she has eyes in the back of her head.

– We see Seth Rollins backstage walking. Back to commercial.

– We are back and we are told that Charlotte Flair will be on NXT to answer Rhea’s challenge.

In the Arena:

The Monday Night Messiah makes his way to the ring and he has something to say before the main event.

Seth Rollins says good things happen to those who are on the right side of history. He wants the crowd to pay tribute to the victory earlier tonight by AOP and Buddy Murphy. Seth says it is his time to dethrone Brock Lesnar again. Seth says he made the same promise last year and got a completely different response. Seth says he promised he would beat Brock for the Universal Title and that was what he did. He took that title and defended it around the world. He says he came home expecting a heroes welcome, but you crucified him.

Seth says he doesn’t hate you for it. Seth says he is here to say thank you. It is because of all of you that he is the man he is today. The man he has become and the man he is so proud of. Seth says he is going to dethrone Brock Lesnar. It is not for him, it is not for you, it is for the greater good. It will be remembered in 10 years, in 20 years, in 100 years. He will be the man who saved this industry. Seth says Drew McIntyre will not be going into Wrestlemania to face The Beast, he will be facing the Monday Night Messiah.

Seth Rollins versvs. vs Ricochet vs. Bobby Lashley in a Number One Contender’s Match for Super Showdown

Ricochet and Bobby Lashley makes their way to the ring as we go to commercial.

Ricochet kicks Lashley and snap mares Rollins. Rollins blocks a kick and Ricochet is flipped to his feet and Ricochet with a head scissors that sends Rollins to the floor. Ricochet is tripped by Lashley and Rollins with a slingblade to Ricochet. Rollins kicks Lashley off the apron and hits a running forearm on Ricochet and gets a near fall. Rollins with an Irish whip and Rollins is sent to the apron by Ricochet. Rollins with a springboard move over Ricochet and Lashley pulls Rollins down. Lashley with a shoulder into the corner and then he hits a neck breaker and DDT on Rollins and Ricochet. Lashley clotheslines Rollins over the top rope.

Ricochet with a kick and a rolling drop kick that sends Lashley to the floor. Ricochet with a plancha onto Lashley and a Fosbury Flop onto Rollins. Ricochet sends Rollins back into the ring and Ricochet goes up top and Buddy Murphy pushes Ricochet off the turnbuckles onto the top rope and Ricochet falls to the floor. Akam and Rezar attack Lashley on the floor. Lashley is sent into the ringside barrier while Murphy connects with a forearm to Ricochet.

Kevin Owens’ music plays and he attacks Murphy when Buddy comes up the ramp. Owens sends Murphy off the stage and then Erik and Ivar attack Akam and Rezar. Erik with a knee to Akam followed by a super kick. Owens and Erik use chairs on Akam and Rezar. Everyone not in the match fight into the crowd as we go to commercial.

We are back and Ricochet and Rollins are down in the ring. Ricochet with punches as he blocks punches from Rollins. Lashley with a shoulder to Ricochet and a spinebuster to Rollins. Lashley with a clothesline and shoulder to Rollins. Ricochet with a springboard cross body to Lashley. Ricochet with a running forearm to Rollins. Ricochet wtih a shoulder to Rollins in the corner followed by a kick to Lashley. Ricochet with a boot to Rollins and then Ricochet with a springboard clothesline. Ricochet with a running shooting star press for a near fall.

Lashley presses Ricochet over his head but Ricochet gets back to his feet and Ricochet wtih kicks. Lashley with a spinebuster to Ricochet and then Lashley with a near fall on Rollins. Lashley gets Rollins up but Rollins lands on his feet. Rollins with an elbow to Lashley followed by a blockbuster for a near fall. Rollins with a buckle bomb to Ricochet and Rollins goes up top. Ricochet with an enzuigiri to Rollins on the turnbuckles. Ricochet goes for a superplex but Lashley comes under and makes it a tower of doom. Ricochet goes up top and hits a 630 splash on Lashley for the three count.

Winner: Ricochet

After the match, WWE Champion Brock Lesnar immediately rushes down to the ring and drops Ricochet with the F5 before he can even begin celebrating the win. Fans boo and cheer as Lesnar stands over Ricochet, hyped up, raising the WWE Title in the air. RAW goes off the air with Ricochet vs. Lesnar confirmed for Saudi Arabia while The Beast stands over his challenger.
